PICOT Statement

Revise the PICOT statement you wrote in the Topic 1 assignment.

The final PICOT statement will provide a framework for your capstone project (the project students must complete during their final course in the RN-BSN program of study).

Research Critiques

In the Topic 2 and Topic 3 assignments you completed a qualitative and quantitative research critique. Use the feedback you received from your instructor on these assignments to finalize the critical analysis of the study by making appropriate revisions.

The completed analysis should connect to your identified practice problem of interest that is the basis for your PICOT statement.

Refer to “Research Critique Guidelines.” Questions under each heading should be addressed as a narrative in the structure of a formal paper.

sagacious thinking (world society/ thinking) Humanities Assignment Help

Answer the three questions below (no word limit). Do read them properly

Scenario: The Spanish arrived in 1522 with Francisco Pizarro leading approximately 600 men who took over the Inca Empire. Europeans were then able to control the wealth and this conquest also gave them a market for their own goods.

Question: What is one other sagacious consequence that you can describe that shows why the world society/history class is mandatory?

What is the denotative meaning of the word ‘harambee’ and What is the connotative meaning of the word harambee?

Scenario: After the European powers left, African leaders believed democracy threatened to destroy the existing states and would prevent social progress. Therefore, leaders maintained a strong authoritarian control they had learned from the Europeans.

For example, after Ghana won independence, Kwame Nkrumah threw his opponents in jail just like the Europeans did in earlier years. He also outlawed opposition parties, and in time, nearly bankrupted the nation.

Question: Link these historical events to sagacious themes you would learn in a world society class (some files attached to help you with). How do these historical events show why the world society class is mandatory?

two peers replies and Mindful Eating Reflection Journal and Meditation ( there is sample attached) Writing Assignment Help

reply these two articles with 4-5 sentences like 120 words or so

First peer Article: the most important information/key concepts we need to understand from this chapter is:

Sustainable Living & Mindful Eating chapter seven discusses the importance of food production and animal welfare in today’s western society. Many of the foods we eat today are determined by habit rather than choice. I have noticed in my personal life that many of the foods I consume are more through habits rather than actually considering the nutritional value of the food. Choosing one’s diet has been known to be through habitual activity according to experts (Schmidt, 2015). Eating animals or plants is a sustainable thought that must be considered today. Animals raised in industrial farms are treated very poorly. They are slaughtered in horrific manners and have been known to be conscious during these killings. Ignorance plays a significant role in the animal meat market. Society is aware of what is happening all around in the meat market, but not a single person wants to do anything about the horrid situation regarding animals and the market for cheap meat. I am guilty of being ignorant to the facts. Sustainable living and mindful eating is a reliable solution to this problem. We are more apt to make reliable choices and be aware of what is going on around us in the realm of the food market. Eating conscientiously can play a significant role in how the food market progresses in the coming years. The foods that I choose to eat should resemble my beliefs and reflect humane laws that should be implemented in society against harsh treatment towards animals in factories. Throughout all this trouble and turmoil however, there are signs of positive change as we have the capability to think before we eat. We can make mindful decisions on what we chose to put into our bodies.

How can I use the information in the chapter to help me with my daily mindful eating practice?

I can use the information contained in this chapter to help me with my daily mindful eating practice by choosing to limit the amount of meat products I consume. Eating meat has been proven to cause several diseases including cardiac disease, diabetes, and cancer (Schmidt, 2015). I want to limit the amount of unhealthy animal meats that I consume almost daily by replacing these meals with healthy fruits and vegetables. Through sustainable living and mindful eating, I can show farm factories that I do not support their cruel methods of meat production.

In what ways will the material learned in this chapter help me manage my mindful eating and stress levels more effectively?

The material contained in this chapter can help me manage my mindful eating and stress levels more effectively by helping me understand the role of plants in a healthy and balanced diet. I have found that mindful eating plays a large role in how my stress is controlled. When I eat unhealthy amounts of animal protein including hamburgers, I find myself falling into a more stressed and anxious state of mind. When I focus on eating plant based foods and limit the amount of food I consume that comes from animals, I feel rejuvenated and ready to take on any exam at school. My workload seems lighter when I chose to eat more mindfully.

What are your thoughts and feedback regarding the information and the activities in this chapter?

The information following the chapter was intriguing and satisfying. The buckwheat burger with sesame gravy recipe sounds amazing! The next time I go shopping, I plant to buy the necessary ingredients to make this dish and try it for myself. The mindful eating reflection journal and mindful eating quiz are always beneficial to me so that I can track my progress in my mindful eating routine. I have significantly improved in my healthy eating habits this semester after taking this beneficial class. I hope to continue to work on the activities following each chapter to expand my mental game and strive to improve my eating habits by limiting the amount of animal protein I consume.

Second peer Article:

The most important information/key concepts we need to understand from this chapter is:

This week chapter is about sustainable living, food production and finally animal welfare. I think the point of this chapter is to learn process of factory production of animal protein as well as learning about how animals are treated in the process. By the end of this chapter it will be easier for the reader to decide whether or not this matter. At the end it not about what we eat, but knowing what we eat and where your it came from.

In the process of making decision, there are important information we need learn such as learning about animal welfare in the context of our food and eating decisions. For me, before learning about animal welfare and how bad animals can be treated, I used to eat without thinking how that food got to be so cheap. Yes, it can be because it is not healthy. However, it is also so cheap because it takes millions of animals to be stolen from their mother right after born, it takes millions of animals to be crammed together in filthy and unsanitary conditions which make them unhealthy for us because all of the diseases they can have, and it takes millions of animals to be treated very inhumanly in many ways in the process of slaughtering. Thinking by all of that, it makes me feel just as much as inhuman the workers in big food factories just because I was part of them by making the decision of eating their food.

How can I use the information in the chapter to help me with my daily mindful eating practice?

The material learned in this chapter can be used to help me with my daily mindful eating practice by making a change in my eating habits specially eating un healthy meat products and the meet products of animals that are abused and treated inhumanly. The reason of making this change is that for me to pay for a product it means that I am a supporter of that company doings which I am not. I was always taught by my parents that animals shouldn’t be abused and to be always mindful about the smallest details when it comes to animals. I was taught, to be nice with animals because that is human and because also my religion always taught us to be human with all god creating. Moreover, saving money on food should not be the first thing to come to my mind when I shop for food but instead I should be mindful about what I eat by thinking of where it came from and how.

In what ways will the material learned in this chapter help me manage my mindful eating and stress levels more effectively?

I can use the information in the chapter to help me manage my mindful eating and stress levels more effectively by learning more about the tools that are available to help me change my eating habits. Also by embracing mindfulness to help me be awake, aware, and alive. For me, embracing mindfulness is one of the tools I just mentioned as well as being aware of the labels on meat products specially the ones that says “certifies organic”, “free ranged”, “grass fed”, “cage free”, “certified human”, “5 step animal welfare rating system”, and finally “hormone free, rBGH free, rBST free and no hormones added”. One last tool that can help, is where I should shop from. For example, by shopping from Whole Food supermarket, I can be fully comfortable with food I will have since it they source many of their products from local producers with higher animal welfare and sustainable standards.

What are your thoughts and feedback regarding the information and the activities in this chapter?

I only have one comment about the information in this chapter which is that unfortunately, some people know how animals can be treated on those big company farms and that they are might be using false labels. However, they choose to ignore that because of how cheap are their products even regardless to how unhealthy they can be. Also I think there are people who are blindly follow what companies advertise and think what activist are doing is just not true because they are some vegans who are trying to change everyone mind which is totally wrong. It is sad when you see people think that way and feel it’s okay to hurt an animal to have a cheap meal.

Mindful Eating Reflection Journal and Meditation Practice Assignment Instructions

Consider the following: A mindfulness practice is the key to fully living and experiencing the events in your life. When we are mindful, the simplest experience becomes more meaningful. We live in a society that places emphasis on language and the cognitive process (over thinking!), so we often repress our sensory experiences. In addition, paying attention to “what’s happening now without judgment” increases our ability to have healthy relationships as our ability to communicate effectively is improved.

Write a journal entry for EACH chapter of Sustainable Living & Mindful Eating assigned this module. Click the Mindful Eating Reflection Journal and Meditation Practice link above to submit your journal entry(s) for the module.

Reflect on any mindful eating and meditation experience you have after reading the chapters for the module, listening to the CD or the meditation video, or any experience you have during the week where you felt you were developing these skills. Use the attached template as a guide for completing your journal entry(s).

Use the following suggestions when completing your journal entry for each chapter:

  • It is important to build both your Mindful Eating practice AND your Mindfulness meditation practice. Your journal can be about anything you want, as we all have unique experiences and interpret the readings/materials in various ways. There are many opportunities to include personal experiences about your daily living.
  • Use the questions within the template to complete your journal entries by addressing the questions within the template in relation to the Sustainable Living & Mindful Eating chapters you have read.
  • Remember there are two parts to this assignment: Questions 1-4 and Question 5. Please make sure to cover all questions in order to be eligible for maximum points. You may type directly into the assignment box, but please follow the assignment format exactly.
  • There is no right or wrong answer with this assignment. It is meant for you to practice learning mindfulness as part of your daily routine. As long as I can tell you are reading the course materials and are somehow relating it to what is happening in your daily life, what you decide to reflect on is up to you. It is your journal for personal growth and reflection! It is also kept private between student and instructor.
  • Please put forth effort with this assignment. I will be closely reading each and every one of them. One sentence answers really are not going to cut it! Since this is your own personal experience, it should not be difficult to write a short paragraph or at least several sentences for each section of the journal. You actually might find it fun, helpful, and even stress relieving for you to jot down your thoughts and experiences as they come up in your journals. Do not over think it!
  • This assignment will help you develop the beginnings of your mindfulness practice. Paying attention to your experiences and staying in the moment while quieting the mind can be a challenge. If your mind drifts from the moment, be patient with yourself without judging your experience. Remember, you are just beginning and practicing so stay with it!
