One: Sustainability, ethics, and social responsibility are all terms used within business to describe a company’s way of life. By this, it means the way the organization is operating to foster protection of the environment, care for the people working within and outside of the organization, along with the overall fairness of the company. These terms are all issues that can be interrelated with one another that could have an influence on the strategic management of the company. This is important because there are sustainability issues that can cross hairs with ethical ramifications of their actions (David, David, & David, 2019). Even though the focus is on the sustainability of the Coca-Cola Company and PepsiCo, it is vital to keep in mind that each decision and/or action that is made is going to involve more than just sustainability with aspects of business ethics and social responsibility being intertwined when executing their decisions.
Coca-Cola and Pepsi are both companies, along with many other companies, that provide a sustainability report that dive into how they are helping to lessen their harm against and increasing efforts, with protecting the environment and all of those who inhabit the earth. After a quick glance at the two companies, it became clear that both companies focus on similar issues. A major issue that both companies acknowledged is the need for improved water conditions and how the water is being used, lessening the carbon footprint with their products, people, climate solutions, and agriculture. One aspect that is different between the two is Coca-Cola has a focus on product quality and safety (The Coca-Cola Company, 2021), while Pepsi had a focus on their packaging (PepsiCo, 2021). Otherwise, at first glance, it seems that both of these companies have similar interests in regards to the sustainability, but each are engaging in their own activities and decision making to be considerably sustainable during their operations.
As mentioned, water is a clear aspect that is being given special attention to. A large reason that both of these companies would want to give care for the water supply and make it a sustainable resource is that water is a main ingredient for most of their products. Without clean, healthy water, it could potentially be that neither of the companies can create their products. Coca-Cola is doing this by enacting an initiative that they call their 2030 water security strategy that not only allows them to improve water availability for the company, but for those in areas that may have water scarcity and/or water pollution. The company is doing this by replenishing the watersheds and efficiency in their operations to reduce water waste (The Coca-Cola Company, 2021). PepsiCo is similarly working to do the same as Coke, but they are making it more community focused. By this, they are working with organizations, like WaterAid, to help increase access for community members and purification processes (PepsiCo, 2021).
To help reduce the carbon footprint and the impact on the climate, environment, and overall health of the people, Coke and Pepsi are changing their packaging to become more recyclable or produced with a lesser amount of plastic. Coca-Cola is working towards making their packaging 100% recyclable to allow for less waste making it into landfills or the environment (The Coca-Cola Company, 2021). Pepsi is doing something like this, except that have not been making strides to be 100% recyclable, but have worked to reduced the amount of plastic that is within each product (PepsiCo, 2021). In turn, just these two actions alone could make a huge impact for the environment, climate, and overall health of the people. This is a start that these companies have begun to make in their efforts to become sustainable. The ultimate goal would be to become completely sustainable to where there are no impacts against the environment. Another way that these companies are making efforts to better things is through the use of renewable energy. By lowering the amount of emissions that are released into the air, it will improve the air quality, thus help people and animals alike. It has been mentioned that by reducing emissions into the air, it will help prevent thousands, if not millions, of premature deaths (Avakian, n.d.).
While exploring the sustainability of these two companies, there were the two components that were different focuses for each company. Coca-Cola has a focus on quality and safety while Pepsi is focusing on their packaging. Quality and safety can mean something different from one another, but Coke is focused on the angle of keeping a high quality product that incites emotions from the consumer, but also ensuring that food safety and employee safety. It is important to the company that, although they are focused on creating high quality products, they recognize the importance of keeping those who help produce these products are protected. An aim they have is to promote a culture that is caring, safe, and implementing ways of identifying hazards with how they are going to reduce risks. Coca-Cola also takes it a step further to ensure that they way they operate are in accordance with global and local standards and practices, all the while Coke develops their own standards (The Coca-Cola Company, 2021). Pepsi on the other hand has put emphasis on their packaging. The goal they have in mind is in line with reducing the amount of waste that ends up in the environment. They mentioned that only 14% of what is used is effectively recycled. They have made a claim that they are reinventing the packaging they use by incorporating partners, their industry peers, and other non-profit organizations to provide an assist in the reinvention of their packaging. Not only are they doing this within the plastic value chain, they are also utilizing education to empower the consumer to engage in better treatment of the waste (PepsiCo, 2021). By looking at these differences, it shows that these are weaknesses the companies have and are wanting to engage in decisions and actions that will help rectify said weaknesses within their company.
When attempting to place a grade on each of these components for both companies, it is difficult to say where each aspect stands. An overall grade that I would provide Coca-Cola Company with an A grade and PepsiCo with a B+. After examining each company’s sustainability, there is a part that Coke has over Pepsi. What comes to mind is the way they are handling their packaging and how they are working to change their impact with the amount of plastic utilized. Coca-Cola is working to change their packaging to make it more recyclable, and Pepsi only made mention that they are working to change their packaging, but not how they would do so. By making their products with 100% recyclable, there is better chance that the waste will get properly recycled. Whereas if the packaging is changed, it may help reduce the waste and be recycled properly, but that can be subjective, depending on the angle it is being looked at. With an overall thought about each company, they both seem to be doing great work with lessening their impact and providing alternatives to the way they are conducting business. Regardless of who is potentially doing better than the other, it does not seem that these are negative actions because it is all for a common goal; to help the world.

Two: The Coca-Cola sustainability report for 2020 list numerous accomplishments to their sustainability efforts during the past year and the global pandemic. The main areas that stand out when compares to the past year though are agriculture, water, packaging, product ingredients, climate, and people. The reason why these aspects stand out while comparing them to this past year is current state of people globally are becoming more socially conscious to elements that have been overlooked for years. This sustainability report discusses these elements that consumers are becoming to be more aware of in today technological age. The first aspect that Coca-Cola report is a strong comes from them highlighting their water initiative accomplishments with the biggest being their return of water replenishment by 100% five years ahead of schedule (Coca-Cola Company, 2021). This element earns them a grade of A under Sustainability for their strong detailed oriented strategic approach. The goal of reducing their pollution imprint is stated clearly, educating in their approach, and shows initiatives with highlighting their success ahead of schedule.
Another important aspect from their approach comes down to the Business Ethics. Coca-Cola focus on sustainable agricultural because it understands the impact of overconsumption, water replenishment, and pollution will affect their future operations (Jones & Comfort, 2018). This is an aspect that shows that a company can take a proactive view on sustainability while stating their financial gains that can come from this investment. Numerous times when companies announce these initiatives, we doubt them and question why they are announcing it to the world. This reasoning of their transparency on their initiatives earns them a grade of A. The last aspect of their Social Responsibility earns them a grade of A because of the fact that they not only show their detailed plans but update their consumers on the project phase at this time. Weighing the overall averages of their three A’s earn Coca-Cola Sustain Ability Report an A rating overall.
The Pepsi Co. is the obvious only competitor to Coca-Cola as their sustainability report is similar in initiative. The six main aspects though that stand out are their water, agricultural, packaging, product ingredients, climate, and people. However, the difference comes to the length and detail of the report being just 8 pages in length. This aspect does not show that they are negative in their sustainability report by any means, but it shows they take a more direct approach. The first aspect of this comes to their Business Ethics with the fact that Pepsi simply listed their accomplishments, and no further explanation to expand upon their successes. Coca-Cola on the other hand listed detail explanation on planning for the future and was transparent. This is why Pepsi Co will receive a B in regard to their Business Ethics in the fact that they are just not as detailed and forthcoming with information. Second, when comparing them against Coca-Cola in Social Responsibility their past year of marketing has been lack luster in this area. The reason being is that marketing plays a large role in Social Responsibility because in today’s technological age consumers expect companies to respond to important social topics of the day. Coca-Cola has a strong image in this regard to taking a stand for social justices. Lastly, in regard to their Sustainability again they are just not as competitive in regard to Coca-Cola, However, in this regard it earns them a C rating. The reason for this lower grade comes from the fact that they do not do a good job at instill their goals for future initiatives. One aspect of sustainability is the striving for continued sustainability especially with investors looking at that with more eagerness than the current trading price of a company. Overall Coca-Cola Sustainability report earns them an A ranking, and Pepsi Co B. The reason being comes from Coca-Cola strategic approach to the assimilation of their sustainability initiative

Oakwood University Week 6 Global Expansion Plan Report Other Assignment Help
I’m working on a research & summaries discussion question and need an explanation to help me study.
The textbook readings emphasized that central to an organization’s research in global markets is its ability to identify and define the best business opportunities in the global marketplace. However, accurately identifying global market opportunities can be quite challenging due to limitations associated with collecting reliable data about the market. Chapter 12 of the text (Exhibit 12.1) presents a systematic process that includes the six key tasks below associated with Global Opportunity Assessment:
●Analyze organizational readiness to internationalize.
●Assess the suitability of the firm’s products and services for foreign markets.
●Screen countries to identify attractive target markets.
●Assess the industry market potential, or the market demand, for the product(s) or service(s) in selected target markets.
●Choose qualified business partners, such as distributors or suppliers.
●Estimate company sales potential for each target market.
For this discussion, consider the key tasks in the systematic process for Global Opportunity Assessment and use the additional information provided in Exhibit 12.1 on Page 337 of the Cavusgil, Knight, & Riesenberger text to analyze two of the tasks for the selected market in your Global Expansion Plan assignment. Discuss the potential challenges and/or anticipated success associated with the tasks you choose to analyze.

Oakwood University Wk 6 International Business Expansion Discussion Other Assignment Help
I’m working on a research & summaries discussion question and need an explanation to help me understand better.
This week you will be asked to make decisions on the company’s readiness for international business expansion. In doing so, you will make judgments about the market, the laws, culture, and the demand for the product or services.
Consider Jesus’ actions during the wedding feast when He was asked to provide wine for the guests. He made judgments such as “it is not my time” and “gather water-filled vessels.” He assessed the resources and the faith of the servants to follow His directions. Do you see a correlation with planning for international business expansion? The following scriptural reference allows an opportunity to consider the lessons from Jesus during the wedding. After contemplation of the application of this biblical lesson, please share your thoughts in the discussion forum.

MGT 441OL01 Saint Leo University Constant Growth Valuation Model Discussion Business Finance Assignment Help
Post responses to part 1 and part 2, the responses must be 50-100 words. Use only one reference that is a United States website only.
Part 1
I agree the net present value, NPV, could be used to project the future return on a project or investment. However, using the constant growth valuation model, which includes the NPV, would be a better way to judge of an investment was a good purchase. This model provides a bit more detailed insight to the investment and can be used in conjunction with the beta coefficient as a better evaluation of the risk, giving you both what the return would look like and the risk the return projected would actually happen.
With an investment you could use the beta coefficient in conjunction with the NPV to determine if the risk of the investment plus what you believe with be the projected value would give you better insight to the investment risk. If the beta shows a lot of movement in the market return, your projected future value may need to be evaluated further to see if the investment is worth the risk.
Part 2
Yes, I agree that net present value “NPV” is a good method as a means of determining the value of a given project/investment. NPV looks at the profitability of a given investment on the basis that a dollar in the future is not worth the same as a dollar today. When you use NPV you can determine how much you will make on a project or an investment in the future which helps you decide today on what to do. Standard deviation is used in making an investment decision to measure the amount of historic volatility associated with an investment relative to its annual rate of return. Beta measures the amount of systematic risk an individual security or an industrial sector has relative to the whole stock market. Both of these are great ways to evaluate the risk, I would want to use Beta to calculate the risk if I were going to invest money because I want to know how the firm has done overtime and is doing compared to other similar firms and then make a decision base off of that information.
Part 3 and Part 4 must be 200-300 word responses. Also only use websites that are based in the United States as a source. And the other source must be from the book which is in the attachment.
Part 3
An impasse is just what it sounds like a grievance that two parties can’t agree on or get past and need help getting through (Fossum, 2015, p. 617). Then they have to decide on where to go from there. They can agree on mediation who is someone that is neutral who will come in and see if they can help come up with a solution to help you see both sides and come to an understanding, however, the solution is not binding (Fossum, 2015, p. 619). Or they could decide to go with arbitration which is generally conducted with a panel of multiple arbitrators who take on a role like that of a judge, make decisions about evidence and give written opinions (which can be binding or non-binding). Although arbitration is sometimes conducted with one arbitrator, the most common procedure is for each side to select an arbitrator. Then, those two arbitrators select a third arbitrator, at which point the dispute is presented to the three chosen arbitrators. Decisions are made by a majority vote (Mediation vs Arbitration, 2019). Arbitration is the closest thing to court without going to court and in most cases is binding. As for fact-finding, it is a third-party method used to develop information about the issues in dispute and recommend a potential settlement (Fossum, 2015, p. 617).
I believe that the biggest advantage of all of these processes would be to save money and time for a long-drawn-out and expensive legal process. That someone is going to lose. Wherewith any of these processes both parties could still come out ahead.
Part 4
The most effective method to resolve and impasse would be arbitration. One would think mediation would be effective, but this step normally occurs prior to an impasse. The advantage of mediation is that a third-party listen to both parties and draws up an agreement. If used during an impasse it will have a disadvantage because “the mediator may have trouble not only in getting a settlement but also in restarting bargaining” (Fossum, 2015, p.410). It would be a useless process if one party or the other do not wish to negotiate. Fact-finding would also be beneficial as it recommends settlements. The downside of this process is that the settlement is only recommended and not binding if neither party agrees. Arbitrator can be difficult to accept for some, but it brings an end to an impasse. The advantage of arbitration is a third-party listen to the positions of both parties and decides on binding settlement terms. In turn, arbitration outs an end to the impasse and both parties continue to move forward. The disadvantage of arbitration stems from one party not receiving anything in return with a decision. The concern here is that arbitration has a “‘take-it-or-leave-it’ nature of many arbitration clauses work in favor of a large employer or manufacturer when challenged by an employee or consumer who has shallower pockets and less power” (Repa, 2019). With being binding and the final decision, the party who disagrees cannot take it to court and change it. It could lead to employees resent the agreements. Even with those disadvantages, arbitration works best during an impasse as it ends the impasse.
This is the website for the book that is used for part 3 and part 4. It will be attached to this assignment. And it must have an in text citation. Remember only part 1 and part 2 get a website that is based in the United States.
