By use of the focused plan, then the company focuses on a specific buyer group and makes products that suit them and their predilections. According to Grundy 2009, the focus strategy can focus on the cost or the differentiation of the products.

Authoritative hypothesis contemplates associations to recognize the examples and structures they use to take care of issues, expand effectiveness and efficiency, and meet the desires for partners. Authoritative hypothesis at that point utilizes these examples to define regulating speculations of how associations capacity best. Subsequently, hierarchical hypothesis can be utilized so as to gain proficiency with the most ideal approaches to run an association or recognize associations that are overseen so that they are probably going to be fruitful.

Effectively applying authoritative hypothesis can have a few advantages for both the association and society on the loose. The same number of associations endeavor to coordinate themselves into free enterprise social orders, they start a gradually expanding influence between other contending firms and right now existing monetary weights. When an association sees a window for extension, it starts to develop by delivering more and therefore changes the financial balance by catapulting itself forward into another condition of creation. This extension actuates changes in the association’s foundation as well as in contending associations and the economy all in all. Different firms watch these inventive advancements and reproduce them productively. Advancements in associations help support monetary potential in a general public and help produce the apparatuses important to fuel its industrialist framework.

First, develop and share your thoughts about the definition of language. What is language? What are some of the ways language can be an obstacle to communication? Select one of your obstacles and share your personal example/experience. What emphasis strategies could have been employed to address any of the obstacles you identified?

According to Saylor Academy (2012), the true definition of language is a series of symbols, letters or gestures to communicate meaning. When I think about the word language, my mind starts to wonder. The reason I say this is because, language is so intriguing considering everyone’s language is different, regardless if we’re from the same town, state, country, or continent. Honestly, language is how one communicates, perceives and comprehends with the world. With this being said, one person receives the message different than what another person does, this is why there are communication obstacles.

While using language it’s vital to be aware of who the audience is. For example, since I’ve been in the military, I’ve been deployed to multiple locations where it’s very important to use the right language. While being in another country it’s important to educate oneself to be aware of their beliefs, religions, customs, and courtesies. To learn about the country, I’d venture off with some friends to indulge in their festivities, their religion, and their food. By far the biggest obstacle I’ve experienced with communication, yet the most rewarding. A strategy is important when I deploy because I have to be alert considering I’m a guest within their country. The only way to stay under the radar is to educate myself on their country and the mission that currently is over there with the US. I have to attend many training classes to be mentally and physically prepared.

U4 IP: Policies in a Contemporary Global Society Law Assignment Help

Key Assignment Draft

In those states with the three strikes laws, any person who has 2 felony strikes and commits another felony, whether it be violent or not, can be required to serve a sentence of 25 years to life.

Look at the case of Ewing v. California:

The defendant had his third strike when he committed grand theft at a golf course in Los Angeles County. This was not a violent crime but he was subject to the three strikes laws. He appealed this case up to the United States Supreme Court—and lost.

The public has always been worried about violent crime, but just how worried are citizens about nonviolent crime? With mandatory sentencing, society will have many older inmates within the prison system. In the criminal justice community, it is known that inmates “age out of crime.” Can you imagine a 68-year-old man climbing in a window or jumping an 8-foot fence? By keeping these older inmates incarcerated, is this a disservice to society?

State prosecutors have the discretion to lower the charge so that the third offense would not be considered a third strike. For this assignment, you are a policy maker in Louisiana state legislature. You are concerned about the heavy tax burden on your constituents. The cost of the actual running of the prison and costs of personnel will rise.

You are also up for re-election, and the feedback that you have received from your constituents has shown that they are dissatisfied with the law that now stands. They are afraid of violent crimes, not just felonies, and are very aware that the last crime committed by the perpetrator does not have to be a violent crime. They are also worried about the use of their tax dollars to incarcerate nonviolent offenders.

Assignment Guidelines

  • Address the following in 5–7 pages:

    • Develop a policy regarding the three strikes laws in the State of California. Address the following in your policy:

      • What alternatives would be placed in the law to give the state prosecutor more freedom to manipulate the third strike?
      • Many prosecutors “load up” charges against defendants to force a plea bargain. What can be done to limit or prevent this practice?
      • Will your policy allow multiple counts arising from the same incident to count as multiple strikes? (For instance, a man arrested for aggravated robbery because of the use of a weapon is charged with aggravated robbery and a felony gun possession charge. Should that count as 1 strike or 2?)
      • If one of the alternatives was supervised probation, how would you convince the public that it would be more cost-effective for the person to be supervised than incarcerated?
      • Show the public where you would be saving money by not incarcerating the perpetrator.
      • If brought up in the legislature to be an amendment to the law, could this be grandfathered in to help older inmates?
      • Could this have a backlash from the public, or would they approve? How? Why?

    • Once you are finished with the policy, draft an executive summary of the policy to be used for political decision making.

  • Use 6–10 scholarly resources to support the provisions of your policy. Dictionaries and encyclopedias are not scholarly sources. Look at federal and state legislation and court cases.
  • Be sure to reference all sources using APA style.

Describe the difference between intended, emergent, and realized strategy? And, if you were consulting a business, give an example of how each of those might look if you observed them?

Intended strategy is the plan the business has laid out that it hopes to follow for normal operations in the foreseeable future (Saylor Foundation, 2012, p. 18). Emergent plans are different because they are more of a spur of the moment type plan that comes about because of a circumstance that needs to be dealt with or an idea that someone has (p. 19). Lastly, a realized strategy is a combination of the intended and emergent strategies. It includes the parts of the intended strategy that were actually put into action and the strategies being used as a result of emergent planning (p. 20).

Consulting for a cafe, an intended strategy may include providing customers with a selection of craft coffees, teas, and pastries to enjoy. An emergent strategy for this business could be in response to the growing push by consumers to have healthier options available to them when they eat out. The company could respond to this by creating new options for low sugar or low-calorie beverages and snacks for consumers. Lastly, the realized strategy would be the original intended strategy with the expansion of their offerings to include healthy low-sugar options for customers.

What is strategic management and why is it important?

Strategic management is a continuous process, that focuses on competitive advantage (Management Study Guide, 2019, para. 2). Through a combination of formal tools and creative thinking, firms utilize the strategic management process to examine the relationships between leadership, management, firms, and industries to determine why competitive advantage exists and how it can be attained for the firm employing strategic management (The Saylor Foundation, 2014, p. 3).

This is important because competitive advantage is how firms establish themselves in the market. If strategic management is key to determining competitive advantage, then it is absolutely imperative that firms utilize this process to succeed. For example, Apple utilized the strategic management process in creating the iPhone, transforming the company from one struggling to find market share in the personal computer space, to becoming a trillion dollar company worth more than the majority of countries on Earth (Tibken, 2018, para. 1). Even a cursory examination shows that strategic planning was key to this shift. Steve Jobs understood the performance of Apple and then compared it to other firms in the market, then determined through environmental and external scanning that there was an opening in the market for a phone that was more than a basic phone or a business productivity device (The Saylor Foundation, 2014, p. 29). Jobs and Apple then formulated a strategy for unveiling and launching the device, and then implemented that strategy in 2007 with the launch of the original iPhone (Carey, 2019, para. 2).

This marked the end of the initial strategic management cycle, but as it is a continuous process, Apple must be constantly evaluating and re-evaluating to ensure competitive advantage (The Saylor Foundation, 2014, p. 28). This process can be seen in subsequent iPhone models such as the iPhone 3G, which skipped the number 2 so that 3G coverage could be highlighted in the offering (Carey, 2019, para. 1). Apple’s dominance in the smartphone market is a prime example of just how important strategic management is.
