UTS Data Mining Techniques in Customer Relationship Management Discussion Business Finance Assignment Help
Individual Report. A dataset will be available on Blackboard for this report. This dataset reflects customer information for a large retailer. It summarises (by customer level) the total amount spent last year, the total number of transactions (i.e. number of times the customer has visited the store) last year and the date of the last transaction.
There are two activities for this assignment:
1. Using any (set of) software tool(s) of your choice, calculate the Recency (R), Frequency (F) and Monetary
(M) value for each customer. Afterwards, use these three variables to create RFM bins. Assume the date for creating these RFM bins is on 1 January 2017. These bins will summarise the behaviour of the customer between 1 January 2016 and 31 December 2016. You need to prepare a short executive summary to summarise the following:
- How you defined Recency, Frequency and Monetary in your analysis?
- The approach you chose to create the RFM bins (e.g. Hard-coding RFM Bins, Exact Quintiles RFM, etc.) and explain the reason of using this approach.
- The number (or the distribution) of customers in each of these RFM bins.
- RFM analysis is a common approach used by companies to understand the customer transaction behaviour. Write a short note to explain what RFM analysis is and how a company can use RFM analysis in conducting any marketing activities.

Does Ibuprofen Help or Hurt During Exercise?
New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com),
Several years ago, David Nieman set out to study racers at the Western States Endurance Run, a 100-mile test of human stamina held annually in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. The race directors had asked Nieman, a well-regarded physiologist and director of the Human Performance Laboratory at the North Carolina Research Campus, to study the effect of over the counter ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory painkiller (or NSAIDs) on runners. The researcher was interested in if these racers displayed more inflammation and other markers of high immune system response afterward than the runners who hadn’t taken the NSAIDs.
Athletes at all levels and in a wide variety of sports swear by their painkillers. A study published earlier this month on the website of the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that, at the 2008 Ironman Triathlon in Brazil, almost 60 percent of the racers reported using non-steroidal anti-inflammatory painkillers at some point in the three months before the event, with almost half downing pills during the race itself. In another study, about 13 percent of participants in a 2002 marathon in New Zealand had popped NSAIDs before the race. A study of professional Italian soccer players found that 86 percent used anti-inflammatories during the 2002-2003 season.
Nieman and his associates found NSAIDs did not lessen people’s perception of pain during activity or decrease muscle soreness later. “We had researchers at water stops” during the Western States event, Nieman says, asking all the racers how the hours of exertion felt to them. “There was no difference between the runners using ibuprofen and those who weren’t. So the painkillers were not useful for reducing pain” during the long race, he says, and afterward, the runners using ibuprofen reported having legs that were just as sore as those who hadn’t used the drugs. However, the ibuprofen users displayed more inflammation and other markers of high immune system response. They also showed signs of mild kidney impairment and, both before and after the race, of low-level endotoxemia, a condition in which bacteria leak from the colon into the bloodstream
Moreover, Warden and other researchers have found that, in laboratory experiments on animal tissues, NSAIDs actually slowed the healing of injured muscles, tendons, ligament, and bones. “NSAIDs work by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins,”substances that are involved in pain and also in the creation of collagen, Warden says. Collagen is the building block of most tissues. So fewer prostaglandins mean less collagen, “which inhibits the healing of tissue and bone injuries,” Warden says, including the micro-tears and other trauma to muscles and tissues that can occur after any strenuous workout or race.

san Francisco Urban Planning Issues and Assessment Demographic Report Science Assignment Help
The city I choice is San Francisco
Purpose:
Learn how to access U.S. Census and American Community Survey (ACS) data. Learn how to manipulate and
analyze the data in Excel (or similar spreadsheet program) to draw conclusions about urban planning topics of
interest. Connect the data to urban planning issues.
Background
The starting point for planning is an assessment of current conditions – the answer to the question “where are
we now.” Planners use many different techniques to assess current conditions, including inventories of existing
facilities and surveys of residents. Planners also make use of existing data sources, particularly the decennial
U.S. Census and the annual American Community Survey (ACS). The ACS is particularly useful for providing
detailed information about the community’s population as well as its housing stock. Planners regularly look at
ACS data to gauge changes within the community, and analyzing ACS data is often the first step in the process of
updating the General Plan.
In this assignment, let’s imagine that you are an intern at a city of your choice. The city is considering an update
to its General Plan, and the planning director – your boss – wants to know what the ACS shows about important
issues in the city. She has given you the task of preparing a demographic report that summarizes selected data
from the ACS. Her plan is to share this report with the Planning Commission and to post the report on the
Planning Department’s website.

ENG 120 GCCCD A Black Man Ponders His Power to Alter Public Space Essay Humanities Assignment Help
Rhetorical Analysis: Explaining a Concept—Identity
Rough Draft: 500 words min. MUST include Work Cited page
Rhetoric is the study of how writers and speakers use words to influence an audience. A rhetorical analysis is an essay that breaks a work of non-fiction into parts and then explains how the parts work together to create a certain effect—whether to persuade, entertain or inform. A rhetorical analysis should explore the author’s goals, the techniques used, examples of those techniques, and the effectiveness of those techniques. When writing a rhetorical analysis, you are discussing how the author makes an argument and whether or not the approach used is successful. For this assignment, you will be discussing the essays found in Modules:
“Shooting an Elephant”
“The Myth of the Latin Woman”
“Just Walk on By: A Black Man Ponders his Power to Alter Public Space”
“Why Looks are the Last Bastion of Discrimination”
You will select ONE of the essays above and fully introduce the text you are analyzing and provide a brief summary of the author’s intent. Then identify and describe how well the author achieves his or her objective. In our weekly Discussion Board quizzes, we have explored the topics of identity, self-identity, and stereotypes. You may bring elements of those discussions into your analysis of your chosen essay. Make sure that your argument includes all of the Aristotelian appeals: Ethos, Logos, and Pathos. Please review the two lecture documents found in Modules: “Logos, Ethos, and Pathos” and “Power-point Lecture on Aristotelian Appeals.”
You must provide examples (specific textual references, paraphrases, and direct quotes) from the essay to support your claims.
Please note you are NOT agreeing or disagreeing with the author’s argument- ONLY
analyzing it.
