Substance Abuse in America Proposal Writing Assignment Help
Problem
Proposals identify problems, present arguments in support of solutions, and suggest actions to be taken. Identify a problem for which you can propose an actual solution. Provide a detailed description of the problem. Focus on something that truly matters to you (purpose). If it matters to you, then it matters to others. Consider those to whom you are directing your message (audience).
Solution
After providing a detailed description of the problem, propose a solution in a separate paragraph. Clearly explain the solution. If necessary, define terms related to this proposed solution. How will it work? Be precise in your explanation. Next, develop a convincing argument in support of your solution or solutions. Anticipate questions, and answer those questions while developing your argument. If necessary, use one or two secondary sources to help identify the problem, explain the solution and/or otherwise support your argument. Consider your tone throughout the proposal (stance).
To craft an effective introduction, provide evidence of the ongoing conversation related to the topic. Highlight the thesis statement with bold print. Use strategies that guide the reader (title, thesis statement, topic sentences, and transitions). Persuade readers to accept your solution. If appropriate, conclude the proposal with a call to action.
Draft Proposal
Upload a 350-500 word draft Proposal (including the Works Cited page) to the Group File Exchange for peer review and to the Assignment link for the instructor’s review. Double space all pages. Include page numbers on the draft and final Proposals. Use a 12 to 14-point font size.

Political Cultural Social Problems About Zoos Historical Conversations Project Writing Assignment Help
The Historical Conversations Project
Two major projects comprise the 39C curriculum: The Historical Conversations Project (HCP) and The Advocacy Project (AP). This first one, the HCP, asks you to do four things: (1) define and describe a significant political/social/cultural problem; (2) justify and frame this problem to convince your audience that the problem you’re addressing and the questions you’re asking are alive and relevant right now; (3) summarize and critically evaluate various conversations and debates made by credible scholars and organizations about your topic; and (4) describe and decipher the historical contexts of the problem at hand by locating at least 2 pieces of evidence, at least 1 from the past and 1 from the present, that tie the problem as we see it today to its past.
Over the next four weeks you will work on this project, which will be submitted for a grade at the end of week four. One of the main purposes of this first assignment is to expose you and your peers to various topics, arguments, histories, and background knowledge that will enable you engage with each other rigorously and productively over the course of the quarter. Another purpose of the HCP is to begin the process of teaching you how to locate, evaluate, select, arrange, and integrate sources into a multi-modal composition. As a genre of communication—and in the case of this assignment, one that frames a problem, delivers arguments, uses evidence, and speaks to a broad audience—a multi-modal composition can be a synthesis of various rhetorical positions—visual and written for example—that work together to deepen argumentative positions and claims. Your composition’s multi-modality will come from your use of these two modes together.
You may be asking yourself (and you should ask your teacher), “What is a composition and what does it mean if it’s multi-modal?” In your case, you will locate at least two pieces of evidence, one from the present that helps you define the problem you are exploring and one from the past that deciphers this problem’s historical context. And then you will use credible sources to describe for your readers how these distinct pieces of evidence work together to explain the viability of the contemporary problem.
You will need to ask a number of questions in order to understand how your key pieces of evidence speak to each to each other: How does the “artifact” from the past illustrate the evolution of the problem? What arguments do scholars make about the problem’s past and its present? What are scholars and credible people and organizations debating about the problem and its past? As you explain how and why certain historical changes tie your central pieces of evidence together, you will have to think creatively to arrange your arguments and your evidence, both your key pieces of evidence and scholarly sources, to persuade your audience that the historical foundation you have located is meaningful to our understanding of the problem in the present.
The Word Count:
The written component of your final submission should be 1700 words (minimum).
Sources & Citations:
At minimum, you should use between 6 and 8 sources.
-Locate at least 2 significant pieces of evidence, at least one from the past and one from the present, that tie the problem as we see it today to its past.
-4-6 scholarly sources, at least 2 of which you should find yourself.
-Use the MLA system for citing your sources.
Additional Guidance
What is a “Key Piece of Evidence” for the HCP?
-Key Evidence (Present): It can be a table of data, an image or a series of images or an incident. It is something, a primary source for example, that clearly articulates the cultural, political, and social problem that is the focus of your project.
-How do you locate your evidence?
Any social, cultural, or political problem that demands the attention of scholars, intellectuals, thinktanks and advocacy organizations will be defined by and grounded in evidence, and these pieces of evidence are what you are trying to find. What sorts of evidence do your scholarly and credible resources use to substantiate their arguments?
-Key Evidence (Past): Like your evidence from the present, your historical artifact(s) can be a compilation of statistics in a table or a graph, an image, an incident, ideas and arguments from primary sources, stories, and various art forms. You can use credible sources to locate your historical “artifacts,” and in selecting them think and write about how the historical evidence speaks to your central problem in the present. Try to describe how your historical pieces reside in the past, summarize how they speak to your contemporary evidence, and explain how the historical dialogue between these two pieces or bodies of evidence connects the present with the past. The historical space between them, which documents historical changes, will enable you to articulate clearly the importance of your central problem in the present.
Reflective Prompts
-What specific aspects of your historical evidence make it historical? Is it far enough back in time to be considered historical? Does it represent significant and meaningful historical changes?
-What are my credible sources saying about my historical evidence?
-How is my historical evidence different from my contemporary evidence? Why are they different? Are they too different to speak to each other to capture historical changes?
-What arguments am I using from my scholarly sources and contemporary research to explain the historical relationship between my two bodies/pieces of evidence?
-What significant historical changes explain the relationship between my sources? What credible sources am I using to support such explanations and summaries of historical change?

MATH1010 Gravity Intermediate Algebra Project Assignment Mathematics Assignment Help
Math 1010 Intermediate Algebra Project
Background Information
Have you ever wondered what it might feel like to float weightless in space? One way to try it out is to fly on a special aircraft that astronauts use to train for their trips to space. Both NASA and the Russian Space Agency have been flying these for years. The way this is accomplished is to fly to a high altitude, drop down to gain speed, and then start a large parabolic path up in the sky. For a time ranging from 10 to 20 seconds, along the top part of the parabolic flight, an environment simulating zero gravity is created within the plane. This effect can cause some nausea in the participants, giving rise to the name “Vomit Comet”, the plane used by NASA for zero-G parabolic training flights. Currently there is a private company that will sell you a zero-G ride, though it is a bit expensive.
The Problem
This lab will have you look at the parabolic path to try to determine the maximum altitude the plane reaches. First, you will work with data given about the parabola to come up with a quadratic model for the flight. Then you will work to find the maximum value of the model. Now for the data:
Time (t) in seconds |
Height (h) in feet |
2 |
23645 |
20 |
32015 |
40 |
33715 |
To find the quadratic model, you will be plugging the data into the model
.
The data points given are just like x and y values, where the x value is the time tin seconds and the y value is the altitude hin feet. Plug these into the model and you will get equations with a, b and c.
Modeling the Problem
Part 1: Write your 3 by 3 system of equations for a, b, and c.
Part 2: Solve this system. Make sure to show your work.
Part 3: Using your solutions to the system from part 2 to form your quadratic model of the data.
Part 4: Find the maximum value of the quadratic function. Make sure to show your work.
Part 5: Plot the parabola. Do this on an online graphing technology and copy and paste the results below. Label the given data plus the maximum point. A good way to start labeling your axes is to have the lower left point be (0, 20000)

Capstone Assignment / Team Marketing Presentation –Background:
This course focuses on understanding foundational business terms and applications. As part of the larger Organizational Leadership curriculum it also serves to facilitate as a self-assessment module whereby the students develop a deeper understanding of self through leadership style assessments, personality type inventories, and values and lifestyle surveys. This capstone assignment endeavors to synthesize these assessments through a business focused lens.
Assignment Parameters:
For the capstone project students will develop a short marketing presentation of approximately 10-15 minutes, presented to the class during the final WebEx week session. The presentation can be made with any media desired, but the minimum expectation would be a PowerPoint presentation.
The group will assume the role of a newly established cross-functional team within a corporate leadership consulting firm. Team members will create an inventory of the leadership knowledge, skills, and attributes as well as the recorded personality types, and the values and lifestyles of the team members. Taking these assessments, the team will create a comprehensive list of features, characteristics, and qualities that could prove critical to a company managing a transitional or strategic issue. Using these features, the team will then develop a marketing plan to promote their services as a potential change agent and valuable resource to the company. Understanding that the students are nascent in the quantification of their leadership knowledge, skills, and attributes a great deal of artistic license may be applied to the marketing plan; no plagiarism is implied or specified.
For example, a student group may be comprised of a retail employee, a food service employee, and a military service member. Understanding the skills inherent in these professions the students could extrapolate a combined skill set of accounting and logistics (retail), customer service and support (food service), and organizational and task structuring (military). This same process of skill extrapolation should be applied across all of the team members including all of the available assessment informationfrom previous weeks’ work. This process serves to both populate the marketing plan with relevant skill sets, but also serves to demonstrate to students the inherent value of their existing skills.
When presented, the plan should include:
|
3. A list the benefits of team’s skills or services. Students should demonstrate how their skill sets translate into application and eventual value. Efforts could even include development of a hypothetical crisis or organizational change within a target client and specific remedies to be brought forth from the team |
Emphasis should be placed on synthesizing assessments and developing the marketing strategy over multimedia presentations lacking real substance.
