ITESM Systematic Nature a Job Description Is Still Best Subjective Process Discussion Humanities Assignment Help

Discuss the following statement: “Although systematic in nature, a job description is still, at best, a subjective process” Build arguments for and against this statement.

Yes it is true that the job description is a subjective process despite the fact that it is systematic in nature. The process of job description is systematic as it involves systematically collecting the information about the tasks that are involved while performing a job and examining and interpreting it to establish the major roles and responsibilities present in it. It is subjective because of the interpretation part that what are the major tasks involved and the relative importance of such tasks. The assessment about the requirements for a job is influenced by the perspectives, opinions and feelings of the person who is conducting a job analysis for establishing the job description. Hence two different people may provide a different job description for a same job. Thus despite being carried out in a systematic manner, the job description involves subjective aspect in it. Hence it can be argued that although job description is systematic in nature still it is at best a subjective process.

GCCCD ThoughtCo Website Communication with Other People Definition and Types Essay Business Finance Assignment Help

According to ThoughtCo.com, communication is defined as exchange of information. More specifically, It is the process by which we use signs, symbols, and behaviors or the act of sharing or transmission information from one person to another person or group and it can be affected by a huge range of things. There are many ways we use to communicate with other people, and it always happens even if we do not recognize it. The most common one is Verbal communication when we use language to transfer information through speaking. Nonverbal communication is the use of body language, gestures and facial expressions to transfer information to others. Written communication when we use typing or printing symbols like letters and numbers to convey information. Finally, visual communication when we use photographs, art, drawings, sketches, charts and graphs to convey information. In this paper, I will discuss some forms of communication I observed while drinking my coffee in Parkway Plaza.

Last week I went to get some coffee during my break. I sat there to drink my coffee and look at the people to observe things about them. The first thing I noticed is a man who seems the owner and a girl who seems like a worker in a store. I knew that according to the organization (How we arrange information in a meaningful way) when I used Role constructs. The book defines Role constructs as classifying people according to their social roles to know. He was wearing a suit like a businessman, and she was wearing a store uniform. Also, I observed the non-verbal concept of repeating. The book defines repeating as using gestures to reinforce what is verbally communicated (Adler & Proctor, 2006). The man was showing her how to organize the store and where to put things in the right place, and he was doing that for more than two or three times. And the girl was following him and nodded her face. He also pointed to the COMMUNICATION IS OUR CORE 3 cleaned stuff how he wanted the store. By pointing to these stuff, he was reinforcing his words by pointing at exactly how he wanted his store to be.

In addition to the concept repeating, other forms of non-verbal communication is body Language. He was talking with confidence, he was smiling at her and teaching her. His facial expression indicated that he was indeed happy. While the girl he was talking to seems nervous and not comfortable, she keeps moving her hands, trying to catch everything he tells her and look deeply at where the things are. Her facial expression seems nervous or feared.

During this time, I observed another form of non-verbal communication which was Mindful listening. The book defines Mindful listening as giving careful thought and attention to the messages we receive when a message is important to us (Adler & Proctor, 2006). I observed that she was listening carefully to him and trying to catch each word he says to collect as much information as she can. She was coming nearly to him sometimes to hear or confirm some words. I can see that when I look at their lips we can know which word they are saying, it seems the same word to me. Also, they used the concept of Regulating. Our textbook defines Regulating as using nonverbal messages to influence the flow of verbal communication (Adler & Proctor, 2006). When she nodded her face which also goes with “okay” she was indicating that she understood the owner’s point. So he knows that she is listening.

I rarely unintentionally overhear their conversation because they were near me. I recognized that we are communicating always and each second, even if we do not realize it. We can communicate emotionally, non-verbally by facial or body expression, verbally. For me, This observation shined light on the non-verbal communication because I thought we can communicate by talking only, but I discovered we can know much more about each other without talking. For example, always in my work when I try to upsell something or ask them COMMUNICATION IS OUR CORE 4 something, some people do not understand. They do not tell that they are not understanding, but I know that by their facial expression when they are just smiling and there is no response or they are confused and raise their eyebrows.

Also, an example about listening is when my manager or teacher tells me something I listen with mindful listening unlike when my friends talk to me or in public speech. I found there are two types of listening in communicating. Also, language plays a big role in our communication, specifically the tones. It has the ability to completely reverse the meaning of the sentence. For example, last night I was talking to my mom on the phone and I asked how she is, the response was “I am good, how are you?”, but her voice was not totally good. I knew she was not good from her voice tone, and then I knew she was sick.

This assignment helped me look at the details and how to we know certain things with knowledge, evidence, and references to make sure of my information. While I thought I would just look at some people and write about them, I knew there are much more things to pay attention to than the first look at somebody. I learned that our bodies can talk instead of our mouths, and sometimes our non-verbal communication is stronger (or makes a better message) than our speech. I realized that we can understand each other without talking which is really interesting and good for us. I learned that tones make a difference, and there are two levels of listening, mindful and mindless. I discovered it is interesting to use the concepts learned in class in my real life.

Topic: Article Analysis 1

The interpretation of research in health care is essential to decision making. By understanding research, health care providers can identify risk factors, trends, outcomes for treatment, health care costs and best practices. To be effective in evaluating and interpreting research, the reader must first understand how to interpret the findings. You will practice article analysis in Topics 2, 3, and 5.

For this assignment:

Search the GCU Library and find three different health care articles that use quantitative research. Do not use articles that appear in the Topic Materials or textbook. Complete an article analysis for each using the “Article Analysis 1” template.

Refer to the “Patient Preference and Satisfaction in Hospital-at-Home and Usual Hospital Care for COPD Exacerbations: Results of a Randomised Controlled Trial,” in conjunction with the “Article Analysis Example 1,” for an example of an article analysis.

While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide.
