An Inquiry into the Happiness Obtained Immigrating to the United States

America being the land of the free and home of the brave is the nation where immigrantscome in pursuit of freedom, better opportunities, and lives for themselves and their families. America consists of a blend of various ethnicities, religions, languages, and cultures, all of which have contributed to the diversification and shaping of the country to what it is today. These factors make immigrants move to the United States with the notion that America is the most appropriate country to have their lives, and those of their families improved. Immigration is as prevalent as ever in the U.S. right now, with “1.6 millions” (Benuto, Casas, Cummings, & Newlands, 2018) of people entering the country each year in search of hope for the future. This inquiry is designed to showcase all the struggles immigrants go through to obtain happiness in the United States and how we all have a common goal that unites us. With this in mind, has the meaning of the American Dream changed throughout the last decades? Why do immigrants give up so much in order to come to America in search of happiness? Is their journey worth it?From as early as the 1400s men have been trying to come to what is now known as the United States of America in pursuit of a better life, riches, and ultimately happiness. Even then, people believed that “regardless of where they were born or what class they were born into, anyone can attain their own version of success in a society where upward mobility is possible for everyone” (Benuto, Casas, Cummings, & Newlands, 2018). This idea of attaining success in the United States is known as the American Dream. Unfortunately, because America’s image is so loaded with idealism, it rarely lives up to said standards. Thus, hope often gives way to disillusionment. For many the “American Dream is driven by the desire of providing for their families and achieving their own economic security in a new homeland. The hope of opportunity and economic gain is met with the reality of perilous journeys, grueling work, long hours, overwhelming isolation, and long separations from loved ones. Still, they come” (“The Dream of America,” 2016). There are many difficulties immigrants face once they arrive to America. Although many might believe the contrary, immigrating to the U.S. comes with a high list of uncertainties. A key concern for families is “access to health care due to lack of medical insurance” (“The Dream of America,” 2016). It is near impossible for immigrants to possess healthcare since they are not documented and do not have a social security number. Even when they are able to access healthcare other obstacles step in the way such as language proficiency and cultural differences. Finding jobs can also be an issue because most jobs require the person to be fluent in English, which many immigrants are not.

University of California Irvine Black Death and Jews Reading Response Humanities Assignment Help

The first reading response : explore the role of Genghis Khan by watching the BBC documentary “Rise of the Mongol Empire” found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAFnxV2GYRU

Write a paragraph discussing the ways in which Genghis Khan used the resource available and restructured political/social relationships to better suit the needs of his empire.

The second reading response : looking at the plague, which swept from China to Europe. In Europe, there were several instances in which Jews and/or entire Jewish communities were blames for the plague and either sentenced to death or slaughtered as a result. There are some accounts of this found here in “The Black Death and the Jews: 1348-1349”: https://sourcebooks.fordham.edu/jewish/1348-jewsblackdeath.asp

The sources have a few different perspective, so it is important to think about motive. The Catholic Church officially said that the Jews were not responsible for the plague, but the individual authorities did not always uphold that perspective. As you review the source, what to they suggest about the role of the church and motives for the persecution of the Jews? What other kinds of responses did Europeans have to this outbreak and what motivated them? Consider how these responses fit in with the broader European culture and European conduct during the Crusades.

Boston University homelessness in United States Discussion Humanities Assignment Help

Choose 1 discussion question from the following and write at least two paragraphs

1. CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES OF HOMELESSNESS: LIBERAL AND CONSERVATIVE WELFARE REGIMES.

In this thread you can discuss the differences and also similarities in the responses to homelessness in the United States, Germany and abroad. Why and how is policy failing? How does failed and contradictory government intervention exacerbate the life circumstances of homeless people? How and why was there a “great U-Turn” in policy in the U.S.?

2. QUALITATIVE INSIGHTS: HOMELESSNESS AND THE LIFE-COURSE: How do we research complex social problems such as homelessness? What are the advantages and disadvantages of qualitative/ethnographic versus quantitative/survey research? Why and how are there significant differences in the personal experiences of homeless people? Why does the life course matter?

3. THE SOCIO-SPATIAL EXCLUSION OF HOMELESS PEOPLE: LEGAL, SERVICE, AND ECONOMIC EXCLUSIONS.

In the research in Berlin and L.A., scholars identified specific trajectories of exclusion. Do you think those also apply in New York or even your hometown? Which one do you think has the most adverse effects on homeless people and their long-term chances to fully overcome homelessness?

4. OVERCOMING HOMELESSNESS: SOLUTIONS?

Homelessness, clearly, is a complicated problem. What do you think are possible solutions? Have they been tried before? Where? With what outcome? How likely is it in our political climate to implement changes? Try and think big but also keep an eye on realism!

“I believe that the question of political identity is crucial and that the attempt to construct citizens’ identities is one of the more important tasks of democratic politics. But there are many different versions of citizenship and vital issues are at stake in their contest. The way we define citizenship is intimately linked to the kind of society and political community we want.”

“How should we understand citizenship when our goal is both a radical and plural democracy? Such a project requires the creation of a chain of equivalence among democratic struggles, and therefore the creation of a common political identity among democratic subjects. For the term citizens to actually mean this and function in this way, what conditions must it meet?”

“These are the problems that I will address, and I will argue that the key task is how to conceive of the nature of the political community under modern democratic conditions.I consider that we need to go beyond the conceptions of citizenship of both the liberal and civic republican tradition while building on their respective strengths.”

The Abstract, 250-400 words, single spaced, which outlines in summary form your overall plan for establishing and addressing a Research Question, should follow the template below:

    • A Set-up for your Research Question, a brief lay-of the land narrative that provides a broad description of the problem at hand. This general comment shows what brings you to the issue, often by way of setting down the current scholarly debate, or by describing a scene from a film, book, or news event.
    • The Problem as you see it, which hints at the Research Question itself. This brief narrative frames the issue at hand so that you can then ask a specific question for your research.
    • The Research Question which can take the form of a stated problem (“In this essay I want to interrogate the ways ideology informs our identity-constructs”), or an actual question (“In what ways does ideology determine our identity?)This is the single most important component of your writing.
    • The Research Method and a glimpse of your Researched Argument. This optional narrative shows how you plan to address the question through research, and how your argument will emerge from your findings.

“The themes of citizenship and community are being discussed in many quarters of the left today. This is no doubt a consequence of the crisis of class politics and indicates the growing awareness of the need for a new form of identification around which to organize the forces struggling for a radicalization of democracy.”

Residential House Lease Agreement Analysis Business Finance Assignment Help

Kindly use the attached files when you write the analysis

You will be given 2 contracts with questions to be answered for each contract. I am looking for the ability to read and comprehend the contract so the appropriate contract clause can be applied to the questions connected with each contract. In order to answer the contract fact scenario, you will also need to be able to identify the legal concept that is applicable to the situation described. This is an analysis so please treat it as such. Your personal opinion is not appropriate.

There are correct answers for each question. If a student discusses a different legal theory for answering the questions, partial points will be given. In cases of complete or partial answers, text references are mandatory to support the remedy proposed by the student.

Please remember to reference the applicable parts of the contract that you are using to answer each question.

Each question is worth 14 points. Within each question, a student will be given 2 points for the text reference, 2 points for the contract reference, 4 points for spelling/grammar, with 6 points for the analysis.

The remaining 5 points will be given as an overall score for the entire assignment. Following are the prompts:

    Residential House Lease

The following question is based on the Residential House Lease found in the Contracts Module. Please reference the Lease by clause number as you answer the questions.

    • Essay (1-2 complete paragraphs with text references to support your answers)

Maria, the landlord, refuses to fix a small leak in the roof that was there prior to the current tenant. Juan, the current tenant, has just discovered the leak after a heavy rain. The consequence is that black mold has been forming in the attic. Juan still has significant time remaining on his lease. Juan has notified Maria in writing of the mold and leak issue. He is concerned about the premises becoming unsafe to live in. It has been 14 days since he emailed her his notification. What are Juan’s options if Maria declines to do the repairs?

    UCC Sales Contract

The following question is based on the Sales Contract found in the Contracts Module. Please reference the Sales Contract by clause number as you answer the questions. Remember, this is a contract under the UCC.

    • Essay (1-2 complete paragraphs per essay with text references to support your answers)

You received non-conforming goods as a result of an ambiguity in the contract. You ordered goods thinking it was a particular product. You wanted Razor scooters and that was the original oral communication when the selling merchant was first contacted by you. You both agreed on Razor scooters. Thereafter, in phone conversations, you and the seller just talked about scooters. The seller prepared a written contract. The selling merchant shipped scooters but not Razor scooters. Upon receipt of the goods, what are your merchant options under the contract?

Why are text references important? Contract language does not exist in a vacuum. It is written based on the law. It is critical, therefore, to cite to the text to support your analysis.
