OVERVIEW

The Body Mass Index also known as BMI, is a simple calculation using a person’s height and weight. The result typically in the range of 15 to 60 is known as the BMI or body mass index score. Most doctors refer to a healthy BMI score between 19.5 and 25.0.

BMI is an estimate of body fat and ones risk for diseases that can occur with more body fat. The higher your BMI, the higher your risk for certain diseases such as heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, gallstones, breathing problems, and certain cancers.

Individuals with a BMI under 19.5 are considered underweight. A BMI this low can indicate an undernourished individual. Your body needs “meat on your bones”, to be able store energy.

If your BMI is between 25.0 and 29.9 you are considered overweight. Many athletes will fall into this range, and while it is true that their conditioning is high, there is still a lot of “mass” for the body to pump blood and provide oxygen to.

A BMI greater or equal 30 is described as obese. Your body is under greater daily strain simply because of your weight. Your organs are not designed to work this extra hard, on a sustained daily basis.

Small weight loss for those with a BMI over 25 (between 5 and 10 percent of your current weight) will help lower your risk of developing diseases associated with obesity.

Mesa Community College Instructions of a Chessboard Functions Project Computer Science Assignment Help

I’m working on a computer science question and need an explanation to help me understand better.

This is the second big project of the semester. With this project, I want to see even more of the lessons we are going over in practice. Minimum it must utilize inherited class and class arrays.

This is a simulated chess game. If you remember, your chess project moved a knight around the board. With this project, I want to not only move that knight, I want you to move all the pieces on one side of the board.

First: If you are unsure how the pieces of a chess board move, do some research. There is plenty of information out there to instruct how a chessboard functions. Your chess piece movement must follow the rules of the game.

Second: This is a one-sided board and used to illustrate how each piece moves.

Third: The program must keep track of the location of each piece. By this I mean that if a piece is moving, it must respect the position of the other pieces on the board.

Fourth: Like the battleship project, it must have some sort of graphical board.

Fifth: With each move the user should also be given the option to start a new game or end the program.

Harvard Business School Treating the Mentally Ill Discussion Humanities Assignment Help

I’m working on a sociology discussion question and need an explanation to help me understand better.

Since the 1960s, our country has seen a shift in the treatment of the mentally ill. In an effort to reduce the number of patients in mental hospitals, the federal government deinstitutionalized this population and directed them back into the community. Fifty years later, many who were once directed to mental hospitals are now being “treated” in our prisons and jails. Discuss the societal impact of such a shift and how this happened. What are the pros and cons of deinstitutionalizing our mentally ill? .

This original post must follow ACE: 1) Answer the question, 2) Cite with adequate evidence to support the answer, and 3) Explain/Expand on the connection between the cited evidence and the answer.

CC Heart Rate Calculation & Cardiovascular Fitness Essay Humanities Assignment Help

I’m working on a english question and need support to help me understand better.

OVERVIEW

As you increase your effort when you exercise, the amount of oxygen you consume to produce energy (and hence the rate at which you exhale carbon dioxide) increases. However, there is a maximum level of oxygen consumption, beyond which increases in exercise intensity don’t lead to further increases in oxygen consumption. This level of oxygen consumption is called the VO2 max. (The initials simply stand for volume of oxygen).

Some experts believe that VO2 max is a key physiological determinant of an athlete’s walking performance, and that it is an important objective of a training program to improve it. Other sports scientists argue that the limits to an athlete’s walking performance are determined by a range of factors – such as adaptation of muscles, walking efficiency, metabolism – and that VO2 max is simply a measure of the oxygen that the athlete consumes at the maximum level of energy output. On this view, which I find persuasive, VO2 max is not the critical factor which determines maximum performance, but is rather a consequence of a combination of other limiting factors. Whichever way you look at it there is a measurable level of exercise intensity at which the athlete’s consumption of oxygen reaches a plateau and does not increase further.
