Here is the original discussion topic:This semester we have covered many topics in the field of Political
Geography. What concept (from Chapters 15 – 34) do you find the most
interesting. Defend your position.
I have already written the original post. Below are two posts made by students. Please just type a 100-150 word response to EACH of these two posts, totaling in 300-400 words all together.
Post number one:
Chapter 22’s topic of the nation and nationalism was the political
geography topic I found the most interesting from the chapters we read.
Nationalism is a force that may seem insignificant, however its power
has lent itself to some of the most influential events in the history of
the world. Nationalism and its manipulation have led to wars,
presidential candidates winning elections, and many more incredibly
significant events. Because of the scale to which nationalism is
relevant, its power, and its ability to last generations I find that the
nation and nationalism was the most interesting concept.
Nationality is spoken of in the text as “one of the most
universally legitimate articulations of group identity and one of the
most enduring and passive forms of modern particularism.” (Antonsich,
Page 298). Nationality and nationalism serves to divide the world, but
to unite the people who live in it. Just about every individual in the
world identifies with a nation and this concept of a belonging with a
group stirs up an incredibly unique feeling in the population of the
nation it affects. This belonging affects how people interact with those
who identify as the same nationality, but it even more-so affects how
individuals interact who are of different nationalities. Nationalism
creates the idea of “us, them, and we” (Antonsich, Page 298). This idea
of division is what makes Nationalism so integral to political
geography.
Knowing someone’s nationality, and their sense of nationalism
can help you discover incredibly essential information about them and
how they view the world. Someone who identifies with a strong sense of
nationalism in the United States may act with an individualist attitude,
whereas someone who identifies with a strong sense of nationalism in
China would act with a more communal attitude. When it is determined
that someone identifies to a nation, and holds a sense of nationalism in
that nation then it is easier to predict how they will respond to
certain actions and ideas.
Another reason that nationality is so significant is that it
is not going anywhere. Historians and political scientists agree that
because of the level of comfort and security that nationalism makes an
individual in a much larger world feel, the concept will continue to
grow and evolve (Antonsich, Page 304). National belonging is something
that will continue to be significant in a world with so many different
religious, cultural, and personal identities, and its power to move
people should not be underestimated.
Post number two:
I chose Social Media as the most interesting.
The relevancy of the impact that social media has had on
events that have transpired over the last eighteen months should be
enough to support my position. You do not have to scroll down far on
Google if you were to search for events impacted by social media. As a
matter of fact, you could just go to C-SPAN and watch the leaders of the
giant technological companies testify about how their websites are
being used for political gains.
America’s intelligence agencies have stated that Russia
was heavily involved in promoting political propaganda on social media
leading up to the 2016 Presidential election. These statements have cost
taxpayers billions of dollars due to multiple investigations in the
Senate, the House of Representatives, and the special counsel. Some
could argue that it has also been a constant distraction for the current
administration. It has also fueled a lot of late night comedy for
television.
Speaking of television, Hollywood has been devastated by
the impact of social media. Persons have been removed from their own
companies. Actors have been fired from production sets. Celebrities have
come forward by the dozens to present allegations of inappropriate
behavior, sexual harassment, and sexual assault. Social media has even
led to elected officials in Washington, D.C., resigning.
Finally, I would present the power of social media as it
relates to gun violence. The students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High
have utilized social media to raise awareness about gun violence. They
have used social media to organize students across the country to
protest gun violence. They are also leveraging social media to influence
our current elected officials and the voters who put them in office.

three pages paper Writing Assignment Help
Choose one topic then write three pages paper. Please use simple words and grammar.
Topics:
a. Why did the Russian economy perform well during the 2001-2013 period? Why did it run into trouble in 2014? How has Vladimir Putin been able to accumulate so much political power in Russia? At this point, how secure do you think Putin’s hold on power is? Given what is happening in Russia today, what do you think will happen to foreign direct investment in Russia going forward? Is this a country where a Western enterprise would want to do business? Please document all of your findings and conclusions using footnotes and bibliography.
b. Walmart is one of the world’s most successful retailers. However, at the current time the company is being threatened by Amazon. What can the company do to compete successfully against Amazon? What have they done so far to compete with Amazon? Is the new strategy successful?
c. One of the great success stories in international trade in recent years has been the strong growth of India’s pharmaceutical industry. How might (a) U.S. pharmaceutical companies and (b) U.S. consumers benefit from the rise of the Indian pharmaceutical industry? Who might have lost out as a result of the Indian pharmaceutical industry? Do the benefits from trade with the Indian pharmaceutical sector outweigh the losses? Please document all of your findings and conclusions using footnotes and bibliography.
d. By 2010 China accounted for 97 percent of global rare earth metal production crucial in the manufacture of a wide range of high-technology products including wind turbines, iPhones, industrial magnets, and the batteries used in hybrid cars. However, also in 2010 China imposed tight quotas on the exports of rare earth metals. Which groups benefited most from imposing an export quota on rare earth metals? Did it give the Chinese domestic manufacturers a significant cost advantage? Did it result in dramatically increased quality and environmental standards? Do you think countries such as Australia, Canada, and the United States should reconsider their environmental restrictions on the production of rare earth metals? The restrictions imposed by China on rare earth metals has resulted in some companies (e.g., Toyota, Renault, Tesla) starting to look for alternatives. They plan to use parts that do not include rare earth metals. Is this a good solution? Please document all of your findings and conclusions using footnotes and bibliography.
e. During the first half of the 2000s, the Japanese yen was relatively weak against the U.S. dollar. This was a boon for Japan’s export-led economy. However, for the next four years after 2008 the yen strengthened relentlessly against the dollar hitting an all-time record high of 75.31 yen to the dollar on October 31, 2011. The weakness of the yen during the early to mid 2000s was due to the so-called carry trade. This financial strategy involved borrowing in Japanese yen, where interest rates were close to zero, and investing the loans in higher
yielding assets, typically U.S. treasury bonds. Because the investment strategy involved selling borrowed yen to purchase dollar-denominated assets, it drove the value of the yen lower. However, after the financial crisis of 2007-2008, massive bank infusion of American dollars into banks resulted in lower interest rates thereby nullifying the carry trade causing the Japanese Yen to rise causing a Japanese financial crisis. Why did the yen carry trade work during the early 2000s? What drove an increase in the value of the yen between 2008 and 2011? Why did the policy of Japan’s Abe government to purchase government securities help drive down the value of the yen? Explain how that worked. Do you think the Japanese government is engaging in currency manipulation? If so, what should other nations do about this? Who in Japan benefits from devaluation of the yen, and who does it hurt? Please document all of your findings and conclusions using footnotes and bibliography.
f. In October 2006, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, or ICBC, successfully completed the world’s largest initial public offering (IPO), raising some $21 billion. The ICBC listing attracted considerable interest from foreign investors, who saw it as a way to invest in the Chinese economy. ICBC has a nationwide bank network of more than 18,000 branches, the largest in the nation. Why did ICBC feel it was necessary to issue equity in markets outside mainland China? What are the advantages of such a move? Can you see any disadvantages? What was the attraction of the ICBC listing for foreign investors. What do you think are the risks for a foreigner associated with investing in ICBC? Please document all of your findings and conclusions using footnotes and bibliography.
g. Amazon released the first Kindle in 2007 at a price of $399. Guiding the project was an understanding that if the Kindle was going to be successful, it had to have that magic combination of low price, high functionality, high reliability, and design elegance. What used to be basically pure e-reader in the Amazon Kindle has now become a competitor to multiuse products such as Apple’s iPad, and what used to be computer replacement-focused products such as the iPad have now ventured into the e-reader territory in a more obvious way. What criteria drove Amazon’s decision of where to produce the different components that go into the Kindle? Were these the right criteria. Why or why not? Should these be the same criteria today with a strong focus on the tablet market as opposed to just the e-reader market? If Amazon had decided to design and manufacture the Kindle and all its components in the United States, what do you think the consequences would have been for Amazon? What about the Fire HDX (and any subsequent “Kindle” products)? Please document all of your findings and conclusions using footnotes and bibliography.
h. The quality of life in specific markets sometimes is impacted by the country’s financial and fiscal policies. As such, the Global Financial Stability Report is a semi-annual report published by the International Capital Markets division of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The report provides a regular assessment of global financial markets. As such, locate and download the latest report (within the last two years) to give an overview of the most important issues under discussion. Discuss the major emerging global financial issues
identified in the report. Please document all of your findings and conclusions using footnotes and bibliography.

- Article Name
- Author(s)
- Publication Date
- Journal
Then, your article review must include the following:
- Summary – Give a brief description of the article. In a few sentences, describe what was studied, how it was studied, and what the results of the study were. Think of this as an abstract in YOUR own words, not the authors’.
- Research Question/Problem – What is the focus of the article? Why is it significant and relevant? What is the hypothesis (there may be more than one)?

- Methodology –
- General. Does the researcher do a good job of explaining the methods? Could you replicate?
- Sampling. Who is the population being studied? Describe the sample used (demographics). What is the sample size? How representative is the sample of the population? Generalizability?
- Operationalization. Describe the materials used by the author(s). Do they appear to be a good representation of the construct of interest?
- Study/Design. Would you describe the research as descriptive, relational (correlational), or causal? Why? What was the research design (e.g., survey, observational, experimental)?
- Results – Read this section. List the statistical analyses that were conducted (even if you don’t know what it is!) – t-test, ANOVA, correlation, etc.
- Discussion – What did the study tell us (in words, not numbers)? Was the hypothesis supported? Are there practical implications, recommendations for future research, or limitations discussed? If so, what are they?
- Personal Reaction – What did you learn from reading this study? What did the study contribute to our field of psychology? What further questions did it generate?

course project Writing Assignment Help
Please read course project proposal before writibg the paper:
Buying a home is time consuming and complicated process. The purchase of a real estate property or home is just one of many examples of negotiations that occur in everyday life. It is one of the distinct examples where people in life use negotiations as an instrument to reach an amicable agreement rather than the exception (Steele & Beasor, 2017). In other terms, negotiations when purchasing a home play an integral role in facilitating parties to reach amicable terms. The focus of this paper is to explicitly portray how negotiation plays an important role in the modern-day life and especially when purchasing a home.
In a negotiation transaction where I was a participant, mutual and informed consent is essential in building trust between the buyer and the seller. Before negotiating about the home, it is important to inquire about variables such as price, locations, and size of the house. At the onset of the negotiations process, the first stage is to identify potential value, begin understanding interests, and developing fact-based (Steele & Beasor, 2017). The second stage is information validation and exchange. At this stage, members build rapport and trust as well as assess interest and create value.
The critical stage when purchasing a real estate or home is the bargaining stage. In the bargaining stage, seller and buyer create and distribute value as well as make and manage concessions. At this stage, members share real values and discounts allotted when one purchases the home (Pinto, 2015). The fourth stage is capturing value and confirming interests. This stage is characterized by actual transactions and paying partial amounts of money. The final stage is execution. The execution involves implementations of the agreements reached upon during the negotiations. This stage involves the exchange of titles between the seller and the buyer.
