WILL PROVIDE ALL INFO, ARTICLES, VIDEOS: For your fourth essay, write an essay of approximately 1500 words in which you discuss how the Black experience has changed over the years. You will want to describe what Blacks experience today and certainly can include the events that have occurred over the last year or so and what these events have signified. You must include what the Black experience was in the past based upon the above four readings for the course including the videos of the biographies of Alice Walker and Ralph Ellison that were made available in previous modules. You can also, if you wish, include information from the videos of Booker T. Washington and W. E. B. Du Bois that you previously viewed.

Pick the work of literature that we have covered this semester (anything on the syllabus including films) and in an informative argumentative paper incorporating at least 5 scholarly sources (from library databases including journals, articles and books- ABSOLUTELY no Wikipedia entries can be cited in the paper- you will lose a whole letter grade for not following this instruction), explain to your reader why this work of literature is important to the study of literature. Explain why you believe the work is relevant to most college students and what lessons can be learned from said work of literature. What tactics do you think teachers/professors can apply to make the lesson resound with students so that they will still remember the lesson years later?
An example would be:
David Lynch’s The Elephant Man grapples with many difficult concepts about life but especially bullying and depictions of normalcy. This text can be utilized very effectively in New York public schools, where bullying is an epidemic and can empower students to not be ashamed of whatever visible or invisible disadvantages they have that makes them different from the rest of the world.

OPTIONAL: https://www.athenscsd.org/userfiles/37/Classes/970… — features similar themes to “Girl” but since the author has run into some controversy later, I am no longer comfortable teaching her work sadly. It is a good story and you can read it if you want and even write about it, but it will not be a requirement for the class.

English Question English Assignment Help Rough draft due on November 27th. The final is due on December 3rd
Essay 4 is a research essay and is the capstone assignment of the class. You should showcase your mastery of the class’s content. For this essay that ends at least on the fifth page (excluding the works cited page), choose any debatable topic that you are passionate about. This research essay must be argumentative, not merely informational, historical, or biographical. For example, don’t write about a president’s life and how he rose to power; instead, write about how one of that president’s policies had a positive or negative effect. In addition to being more than informational, etc., when you choose a topic, focus on one aspect of that topic. For example, an essay that claims that texting while driving is bad would not be a good essay because the topic is too general. The essay should argue about one aspect of the texting while driving debate, such as voice-to-text technology. Once you narrow your topic, take a clear stance on the issue. This will be your thesis. For example, your thesis could be “If more people used voice-to-text technology, the number of texting while driving fatalities would diminish.” Remember that although this is a research essay do not let your sources overpower your voice. This essay should not be a series of quotations; instead, you should use quotations sparingly, about one or two sentence-long quotations per body paragraph, to support your discussion of the topic. This is a formal essay, so avoid contractions, casual language, and first and second person. Also, if you do not adhere to the rules of citation and documentation, your essay could be considered plagiarized.

i choose The Metamorphosis by Franz KafkaW
The overall goal for this project is for you to explain why the story of your choosing speaks to themes that we have talked about in class.
Start with an opening paragraph stating why you chose to write about this story- what themes do you think the story effectively touches upon?
In the first paragraph, answer the following question: Do you think that the story you chose would have worked as a novel, play, film or do you think the short story format is the only fitting choice for the story to be told properly?
In the second paragraph, talk about which techniques you feel the author employs most effectively to pique readers’ attention and to keep the flow and momentum of the story going so that both the reader doesn’t lose interest and so that the story can be wrapped up pretty nicely.
Finally, in a third paragraph, what symbols/motifs/etc. stand out to you the most and do you think the story hinges on the importance of these symbols/motifs/etc. Why or why not? Can you relate any of these things to elements of the other literature we have read this semester?
Finish with a conclusion reiterating why you think this story is worthy of study and analysis in a class such as ours.
