1. Nakamura argues that even though the internet is often imagined as a place where users can be “race-less,” race is still very much present on the internet. What are some of the ways that Nakamura says that race comes into online spaces?

2. What is Nakamura’s idea of racialized “identity tourism”? What are some examples that Nakamura gives to illustrate this concept?

3. Why does Nakamura believe that it is important to address race in online spaces? Why does it matter to talk about race when we talk about the internet or digital media?

4. Nakamura wrote this chapter nearly two decades ago. In the meantime, a lot has changed about the internet, but also a lot hasn’t. What is a more recent example from your experiences that reflects how race is still an important (if often overlooked) part of online life?

Discussion

Evidence-based practice is used widely in psychology in which psychotherapists base their practice with findings only from empirical evidence, which is used to help them with their clients. (). It can also be defined as “… ‘the integration of the best available research with clinical expertise in the context of patient characteristics, culture, and preferences’’ (APA Presidential Task Force on Evidence-based Practice, 2006, p. 273” ( Corey, 2017, p3-8).

Just like every other model this comes with both advantages and disadvantages. Some advantages include that many insurance companies cover this practice which allows more clients to have access to this. The major advantage would be that it is a known fact that the treatment at hand has already been researched and confirmed due to other empirical findings. The client would feel at ease knowing that the treatment being used was already used and has great outcomes. Not only does this practice provide confirming research it shows the clinical knowledge of the counselor, the client’s culture and beliefs and works to enhance the health of the public. (Tan, 2011, p 202). Some disadvantages are that most of the time this practice focuses largely on the available empirical research. Another disadvantage is that when it comes to the client everyone is different so if the research worked on one person it may not work on this client. Basing a treatment solely off of research that confirms a handful of people should not focus on all people. We have to take into account how each person has different characteristics. Also, with insurance companies leaning more towards this practice it could be taken advantage of and not focusing on the client. “…there is potential for misuse and abuse by third-party payers who could selectively use research findings as cost-containment measures rather than ways of improving the quality of services delivered” (Corey, 2017, p. 3-8).

The ethical considerations that fit into this practice are the treatments have been validated, they are brief, induvial variety and existential concerns. Some cultural considerations would be if the research lines up with our biblical views, if they do not, we should not go through with the practice. We should only use EBPP’s that align with the truth in biblical, ethics, values, and through the eyes of God. (Tan, 2011, p 202).

Christina Stone_Evidence-Based Practice

Evidence-based practice (EBP) is the practice of treating clients by protocol, based on the results of research (Corey, 2021). Advantages of EBP include having research at the ready that supports using a particular intervention for a particular problem (Corey, 2021). If a counselor or client are unsure of where to begin, but symptoms have been identified, the counselor may be able to begin treatment by choosing a method determined by EBP. Additionally, if there are time constraints due to financial limitations of the client, or insurance requirements, EBP may be the most time and cost-effective approach.

When research becomes the motivator for using a particular intervention, the personal touch of the therapist, and the personal characteristics and needs of the client may become less important than the research (Corey, 2021). Additionally, the building of the counseling relationship may be replaced with research, which could be problematic when clients are statistical outliers, so to speak (Corey, 2021). Perhaps sampling issues impact research conducted within cultural minority groups, thus, minority groups and/or individuals in minority groups, may be unduly impacted by the disadvantages of EBP (Corey, 2021; Drisko, 2017). Another consideration is that EBP requires the counselor to identify what is wrong with the client in order to start treatment, instead of starting from a strength-based position (Corey, 2021).

The use of EBP is increasingly being required of counselors by insurance companies (Corey, 2021). This has a limiting effect on the intuition, creativity, and relationship development that have historically been essential to a counselor’s work (Corey, 2021). According to the 2014 ACA Code of Ethics, the counselor should be operating from a place of understanding the client, and the client’s goals (A.1.c.). EBP becoming standard practice may impact the counselor’s ability to allow the client to lead. Lastly, requiring a counselor to use a particular treatment approach because of research may undermine the counselor’s identity because their role could begin to resemble that of a technician or analyst, rather than a helper.

Liberty University Using Prayer With Clients Journal Article Review Paper Writing Assignment Help

.Journal Article Review Assignment Instructions

Overview

For this assignment, you will read one of the articles from the professional, peer-reviewed journal articles provided in the Assignment Instructions folder (no outside articles allowed for this assignment). You will then write an article review based on your chosen article.

Article: Using Prayer as an Intervention With Clients Who Are Substance Abusing and Addicted and Who Self-Identify Personal Faith in God and Prayer as Recovery

Instructions

Your Journal Article Review must be approximately 3–5 double-spaced pages (not including the title and reference pages) and must be created in a Microsoft Word document. Use the following guidelines to create your paper:

1. Provide a title page in current APA format. Divide your summary into sections with the following Level One headings: Summary, Interaction, and Application (review the current APA Manual for guidance on levels of headings if needed).

2. Develop a summary of the main concepts from the article. Do not duplicate the article’s abstract. If the article describes a research study, include brief statements about the hypotheses, methods, results, discussion, and implications. If any test measures or statistical methods used are given in the article, do not provide detailed descriptions of these. Short direct quotations from the article are acceptable, but avoid long quotations in a paper this size. This section is the foundation of your Journal Article Review (at least a third of your paper). Make sure that you include the core points from the article, even if it means a longer section.

3. In your own words, interact (in approximately 1 page) with the article. Appropriate comments for this part of the paper should include, but are not limited to: your initial response to the article, comments regarding the study’s design or methodology (if any), insights you gained from reading the article, your reasons for being interested in this particular article, any other readings that you may plan to do based upon having read the article, and other thoughts you have that might further enhance the discussion of your article. Your subjective comments in this section must be clearly tied to main points from the article, not peripheral ideas. While not required, you are encouraged to consider any other information from previous articles you may have read in previous courses, or in other places you have encountered information relating to the themes in the article you are reviewing. For example, does the ACA Code of Ethics have anything to say about the themes being discussed in your journal article? Are there passages of Scripture that directly relate to the article? Are there ideas and concepts from previous courses you have taken in your program here at Liberty or elsewhere that relate to the article you have chosen? You are encouraged to include them, and make sure you include proper citations and references at the end of your paper.

4. In your final section (in approximately 1 page) write how you would apply the information you have learned from this article to a particular counseling situation. This could be in a church or clinical session. Develop this section as if you are a clinician, or even a pastor, and your parishioner or client has come to you with a problem—grief, depression, substance abuse, infidelity, etc.—and is needing your help. Adequately describe the counseling scenario, including the presenting problem. Draw out concepts from the article and apply the concepts from this article to the scenario. Show the reader how you are expressly drawing from the journal article in this application section; be sure to cite correctly in current APA format.

5. Provide the complete citation for the article being summarized on a reference page in current APA format. If you choose to cite other sources, please include them as well.

Saudi Electionic University Financial Analysis and Strategic Analysis Case Study Writing Assignment Help

    0% palagrisem

For this discussion, you will explore the relationship between financial analysis and strategic analysis in a review of the case study Walmart, Inc. in 2018: The World’s Biggest Retailer Faces New Challenges (from your textbook). In addition, read: Chapter 2, “Putting Performance Analysis into Practice.”

A case study is a puzzle to be solved, so before reading and answering the specific questions, develop your proposed solution by following these five steps:

    1. Read the case study to identify the key issues and underlying issues. These issues are the principles and concepts of the course area which apply to the situation described in the case study.
    2. Record the facts from the case study which are relevant to the principles and concepts of the course area issues. The case may have extraneous information not relevant to the current course area. Your ability to differentiate between relevant and irrelevant information is an important aspect of case analysis, as it will inform the focus of your answers.
    3. Describe in detail the actions that would address or correct the situation.
    4. Consider how you would support your solution with examples from experience or current real-life examples or cases from textbooks.
    5. Complete this initial analysis and then read the discussion questions. Typically, you will already have the answers to the questions, but with a broader consideration. At this point, you can add the details and/or analytical tools required to solve the case.

In an original post, present a well-written answer and diagnosis for the following case study questions:

    1. How well is Walmart performing relative to its competitors?
    2. From (a) the financial data and (b) what we know about Walmart’s businesses, can we identify the sources of Walmart’s inferior performance?
    3. How are Walmart’s shareholders and stakeholders affected by the performance?
    4. What can Walmart’s management do to close the performance gap?

Embed course material concepts, principles, and theories (require supporting citations) in your initial response along with at least one scholarly, peer-reviewed journal article. Keep in mind that these scholarly references can be found in the Saudi Digital Library by conducting an advanced search specific to scholarly references. Use Saudi Electronic University academic writing standards and APA style guidelines.

HIST 21B University of California Irvine Closed Country Imagined Dialogue Humanities Assignment Help

I’m working on a history question and need a sample draft to help me understand better.

This week’s assignment will take the form of an imagined dialogue between a Dutch trader (let’s call him “Hans”) and a Japanese official (we’ll call him by his title, “Daimyō”).

Imagine it’s the year 1650. The Spanish and Portuguese have been expelled from Japan, and the Dutch are trying desperately not to lose their trading privileges. One day, a Dutch trader named Hans arrives in Nagasaki, seeking to establish a permanent trading relationship with the Japanese. What does he say to the Daimyō (lord) he meets in order to persuade him to allow his merchants to disembark? What concerns does the Daimyō raise in response to Hans’s request?

Your dialogue should be at minimum ten lines (that is, 5 lines per person). At the end of the dialogue, write one paragraph (~4-5 sentences) explaining some of the concerns that were raised in your exchange.

REMEMBER!!!! This paragraph must reference the assigned readings.
