For this piece of the Course Project, you will submit your artwork choice along with a quick sketch of the art, your thesis, and outline as a single 1-2 page Word document. This outline will be a guide of how your paper will flow. Part of your grade will be determined by how well you follow this outline.
Once you have identified the work of art you want to write about, do a brief sketch of it. Make notes within the sketch about the elements and principles of design you see, and any other feelings and impressions you have. Take a photo of your sketch, to be turned in with your paper.
You will NOT be graded on your drawing skills for this sketch! This is just a perceptual exercise to help you really see the details of your chosen work of art. The process of sketching helps you see the work on a deeper level and will make the writing process much easier.
After your sketch is completed, begin your outline following the format below.
- Introduction
- Title, artist, date, location, dimensions, medium of the work, and the name of the exhibition/museum in which the work is displayed.
- List brief descriptive qualities. For example, “Landscape of mountain scene, barn, cows.” Or “Portrait of woman wearing hat.”
- Thesis statement
- Body
- List the Elements of Art and Principles of Design that you see.
- Name the medium the artist used and any obvious characteristics of the medium.
- Note the initial reactions, thoughts, and questions you had when first viewing this work.
- Conclusion
- Wrap up the essay by summarizing your thesis. Note any new interpretations of the thesis that emerged.
Note: Your project will be submitted as a word document. There are a number of ways to submit the photo you your artwork. One method would be to take the photo with your phone camera and then send it to yourself as an email attachment. You can then add the photo into your Word document, or you can submit the file as a second submission.
Submit your completed assignment by following the directions linked below. Please check the Course Calendar for specific due dates.
Save your assignment as a Microsoft Word document. (Mac users, please remember to append the “.docx” extension to the filename.) and The name of the file should be your first initial and last name, followed by an underscore and the name of the assignment, and an underscore and the date. An example is shown below:

How we learn by Benedict: Chapter 9 Response Writing Assignment Help
Chapter 9 in the text (Carey, 2014) presents the idea that researchers are still learning about how perceptual discrimination works in the brain and what it might mean for learning in the classroom setting. Many of the examples shared in the text focus on what researchers have learned from studying experts in different fields such as chess and flying.
Consider how the findings (about perceptual discrimination works in the brain) presented in chapter 9 can inform your understanding of your teaching by answering the following:
- How do the findings presented in chapter 9 impact what you are doing with your students as learners?
- Apply your critical thinking skills and imagine how this might come into play for your students.
- What potential do you see to use what you have learned from this material in your classroom? If you are not a classroom teacher, consider application to your professional roles or experiences.
Support your statements with evidence from the required studies and your research. Cite and reference your sources in APA style.
i have uploaded chapter 9 on file.

Pay for performance plans discussion Business Finance Assignment Help
Pay for Performance in Public Schools Remains Controversial
“Pay for Performance” has made inroads in business, but has remained a hard sell in public school systems. There are some successful examples where teacher pay has been linked to student test scores. In Minnesota some districts have stopped giving automatic raises for seniority and base 60% of all pay increases on performance. In Denver, unions and school districts designed an incentive program where teachers receive bonuses for student achievement and for earning national teaching certificates. However, some plans have not worked. For example, Cincinnati teachers voted against a merit pay proposal and Philadelphia teachers gave their bonus checks to charity rather than cashing them. It appears that having teachers involved in planning the incentive system is one key factor to success. The same can be said for all incentive plans – if employees don’t buy into them, they will not work.
Questions to Research:
1. How could an organization measure the effectiveness of their pay-for-performance plans?
2. From an employee’s perspective, what are the disadvantages of using a pay-for-performance plan?
3. From an employer’s perspective, what are the disadvantages of using a pay-for-performance plan?
Research Paper Instructions:
a minimum of 3 FULL pages of written content, and a reference section. Double space all work and cite all listed references properly in text in accordance with the 6th edition of the APA manual, chapters 6 & 7.
