Ashford University Construct Co Limited Company Database Design Project Computer Science Assignment Help
Database Design Project
For the final assignment of this course, you will analyze user needs to facilitate the development of a database using SQL server to track the software and hardware assigned to the employees of a given organization. The purpose of this database project is to facilitate the development of data models that can be translated into relational databases.
Organizations are legally required to track software and ensure that only legally procured software licenses are deployed. As a database architect, your task is to develop a database to track software and hardware for the ConstructCo Company. ConstructCo is a small construction company that employs 50 employees and owns over 80 desktop computers, laptops, and servers. You will be using the SQL Server environment provided during this course. This database will ultimately be used as a basis for a software license management tool to assist the company in tracking how the licenses and workstations/PCs are deployed throughout the organization
You must use the ConstructCo Database Design Project template in the creation of your assignment. For each section of the template, include the content required as listed below.
Document History
The information in this section will be pre-populated in the template. The only required content will be your name in the “Revised By” column.
Executive Summary
Summarize the project parameters including a short description of each of the following sections: Conceptual Design, normalization phase, physical design, Data retrieval and connecting to online databases. There is a Sample of an Executive Summary (Links to an external site.)on the Ashford Writing Center website for your reference.
Conceptual design (ERD creation)
Review the feedback provided for your Week Two ERD Creation interactive assignment. Carefully review the ISM641 Database Design Project: Business Rules and revise your Visio conceptual model (or entity-relationship diagram) for your database. Ensure that the following requirements are met.
- Identify all entities and attributes
- Identify all primary keys
- Define all relationships between entities
Normalization
Once the ERD is completed for your ConstructCO database project, you will create the Logical Data Model and check the model against 3rd Normal Form (3NF). For this phase of the project review your existing ERD feedback from your Week Three assignment where you converted your ERD into a Logical Data Model in 3NF. Using information from your Week Three assignment feedback revise your Logical Data Model. Describe the three normal forms and justify how each of your tables meets 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Normal Form utilizing a minimum of three professional sources to support your statements.
Physical Design
In Week Four, you created your database in the SQL server you were provided within your lab environment and translated this design into SQL server tables with appropriate fields. Select the appropriate data type for every field. The specific data type you select will depend on the size and range of the values that will be stored in the field.
Specify all primary keys as “identity” fields, and not as auto-increment.
After creating the tables, use the “insert” command to populate the tables with sample data for all the tables. (This will be affirmed in your SQL server in the lab environment.)
Data Retrieval
Provide select statements to satisfy the following data requests.
- List all available laptops assigned laptops to managers.
- List all available named licenses.
- List the workstations that are over three years old (from the date of purchase) and assigned to leads.
- List the name of the leads, workstation IDs, and location.
- List the names of all the leads in the operations department.
- List all the workstations with an amount of disk space less that the average disk space available in all workstations.
- List the names of all managers with employees who have not been assigned a workstation.
Include screen shots of the SQL statements used to perform each step as well as the result sets resulting from the execution of the SQL statements. Describe what you did to complete each step.
Connect Online Databases with Front-End Interfaces
In order to connect the database with the front-end interface you will modify the Java code provided on the Connection URL Sample (Links to an external site.) website to retrieve the list of all workstations assigned to managers. The output must include the first name, last name, and department of the managers as well as the workstation ID and date of purchase.
Modify the Java Code to insert new workstation record in the workstations table if provided with the WorkstationID, type, location, purchase date, memory, disk space and CPU speed.
Include the modified code by copying and pasting the code as plain text at the bottom of this section.
The Database Design Project
- Must be 15 to 20 double-spaced pages in length (not including title and references pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center (Links to an external site.).
- Must include a separate title page with the following:
- Title of paper
- Student’s name

West Coast University Social Labels and Stereotypes Discussion Humanities Assignment Help
1. discussion, comment
Is there any truth underlying social labels and stereotypes? Why or why not? Based on what you have learned about the formation of cognitive schemas and self-fulfilling prophecies, give your opinion as to why stereotypes and prejudices form. Do you feel that there is any way to change stereotypes and prejudices? How so? Support your reasoning with information from the text and other course materials.
1.1 reply to peer
Stereotypes are frequently used to legitimize bad form and segregation, approve abuse, empower misuse, support savagery, and shield degenerate power structures. According to Psychology Today, there are many truth that is underlying social labels and stereotypes. This is because of stereotype many relationships are getting destroyed because one day you will get to know truth because it was their expectations that might can be ruined. I think you can change stereotypes and prejudices as by changing behavior of yourself or try to interact with more and more people, so you won’t have any misunderstandings towards any race. You can try to make every kind of race friend. You will able to learn more about cultural and people around you. Also, make sure there is always bad mind people around but you just have to ignore and keep going on your track.

1.2 reply to peer
I believe that there is only a hint of truth to social labels and stereotypes, but they shouldn’t be relied on to make a judgment about a person. In the book (Feldman, 2017), it states that stereotypes are a set of generalized beliefs and expectations about a specific group and its members. It also mentions, how when we use stereotypes we are oversimplifying the world and not looking at people as individuals and judging them off their unique personality traits. Based on what I learned about cognitive schemas, the way we understand and make sense of others includes sets of of cognitions about people and social experiences (Feldman, 2017). We usually hold schemas for specific types of people, so that may be a reason why stereotypes and prejudices form. Also there was an example in the book (Feldman, 2017) where the someone described a teacher as a warm or cold person, and the class’s impressions were influenced by that description. This just shows that people are influenced by a positive or negative description of someone or something and that sways how they look at the person. In order to change stereotypes and prejudices we need to look at people as individuals and not to judge off of a preconceived notion. When we see behavior we don’t like do not automatically judge it, think if it is situational or dispositional, and why they are like that (Feldman, 2017). Look at situations and people individually, then we can remove stereotyping which people use as an easy way to judge someone.
Feldman, R.S. (2017). Understanding Psychology (12th ed.). Boston: McGraw-Hill.
2. discussion comment
Regardless of what social psychologists claim are the characteristics of attraction, why do you think people believe that opposites attract? Is this true, or are there underlying similarities that the two individuals are just unaware of? How can having diverse or opposing opinions both enhance and limit a relationship? Provide examples to support your claims. Support your reasoning with information from the text and other course materials.
2.1 reply to peer
According to Feldman (2017) social psychologists claim the characteristics of attraction are proximity, mere exposure, similarity, and physical attractiveness. I think the reason people believe that opposites attract is because it can seem fulfilling in way. I think there is no one truth in which people would prefer, and it depends on the people. Some people are attracted to people who have opposite personalities because they balance them. Even though, they might have different personalities or energies, they might have similar likings or traits or experiences in which they can connect. In the book (Feldman, 2017), it states that discovering that others have similar attitudes, values, or traits promotes our liking for them. Maybe when we find a similarity with someone you wouldn’t expect to have something in common, it attracts you more then someone you would expect it from. As a couple they can cover each others weaknesses and use both their individual strengths. In theory having diverse or opposing opinions sounds good because, they can help the each other become well rounded and learn how to deal with their opposite energy and maybe even influence each other to be more open. Although, this can also limit some relationships, and cause a lot of disagreement which can cause the couple to break up, or for them to adjust for their partners becoming more open.
Feldman, R.S. (2017). Understanding Psychology (12th ed.). Boston: McGraw-Hill.
2.2 reply to peer
According to Feldman, social psychologist claim that the characteristics of attraction are proximity, mere exposure, similarity, and physical attractiveness. The reason I think people believe opposite attract is because they believe this will help balance the relation. An example is when a troublesome person marries a quiet person. This to me is a perfect match because I believe two troublesome persons should not marry because the marriage can end in violence. My understanding is that two quick to anger person should not be in a relationship, rather, it is good to have the opposite to balance things up. I think the believe that opposite attract is true because I believe during courtship, people tend to know more about themselves and in the process, they can tell if they are similar or opposite to each other. In a Relationship with different background and experiences, both partners will bring together their ideas, which will provide an alternative solution and approaches when discussing an issue. Having diverse and opposing opinion can also limit a relationship because when two people have an opposing idea on an issue, there will be delay in decision taking and finding solution because the partner have not reached an agreement on what step to take in providing solution to the problem.

Long Island Effects of Corporate Finance Decisions on Significant Corporations Discussion Business Finance Assignment Help
Statement of the Problem – The statement of the problem is a rational and reasoned argument that posits the problem and indicates the necessity for the research. This should be supported by a literature review of critical studies that provide sufficient information to identify the “gap” in the current research that will be addressed by the proposed study. This will set the stage for how your research will contribute to already-existing attempts to address the problem. This section also will incorporate definitions of key concepts.
Significance of the Research – Significance should be established by presenting an integrative review of key sources that establish the need for the study or studies. The far-reaching implications of the project findings should be addressed, as well. This should include a brief review of the literature, with relevant citations. It may also include an outline of additional topics to be included in the review of the literature conducted while in the dissertation phase for the main study or collection of studies.
Research Question(s) – The research questions should be presented. This section also shows how the methods will be designed to answer those questions. Bear in mind that any questions should be answerable within the timeline and framework of dissertation research. Consider the nature of the data that will be gathered and analysis techniques that will be used to answer each question or set of questions. One way to do this is by providing a table that will show the independent and dependent variables and analysis tools that will be used for each study.
Method(s) – The methods description(s) should include data sources, instruments, research methodology, procedures, and analysis methods to be used in each study. It will be important to gather the committee’s input and tentative approval of the methods, which the student will tighten and elaborate for the formal proposal.
Concept Paper Approval – The concept paper must be discussed in a face-to-face meeting with the student’s approved dissertation committee. Distance technology may be used as needed. Concept Paper approval must be obtained from all committee members before preparing the dissertation proposal for formal defense.
Typically, a concept paper contains these elements:
1. A title, in the form of a research question. This may be the last part of the concept paper that you write, but it should appear at the heading of the paper.
2. A clear description of the research topic, including a summary of what is already known about that topic.
3. A one-sentence statement of the research question that the project will seek to answer. The concept paper should elaborate on how this question can be answered — something that almost always takes more than one sentence to accomplish.
4. A demonstration of why it is important to answer this research question. What good comes of this answer? Why is this project worth writing?
5. A description of how the researcher plans to answer the research question. This includes:
a. a description of the data or evidence that the researcher plans to gather or use;
b. a description of how the researcher will analyze these data; and
c. a demonstration of how these data and this analytic method will answer the research question.
Concept papers typically range from 5-10 double-spaced pages in length. The point of a concept paper is to provide a clear summary of the research project. It should enable a casual reader to understand what the researcher is investigating, why it is important, and how the investigation will proceed.
