This review will be your case contribution to your group’s white paper. As such, it needs to be well written. Format the document clearly and consistently and be sure it is written well. Genre: Cause and Effect – A cause and effect analyzes an event that changes the direction of one or more characters listed in the story. In-depth analysis of an event can be used to communicate the emotion, depth, and purpose of a life story or event. From a biblical perspective consider Scriptures such as Roman’s 8:28 which reflect on how every situation in our life can be used for God’s glory and honor when one “surrender’s all.”

Pre-Reading: Read pp. 77-90 in the chapter entitled, “Invasion” in your reading text, The Hiding Place.

Writing Instructions: On p. 90, we see a monumental turning point in the life of Corrie ten Boom based on a simple prayer of surrender: “Lord Jesus, I offer myself for Your people. In any way. Any place. Any time.” Develop your essay to reflect upon the “cause and effect” scenarios of her life that enabled her to go forward victoriously in her service for the Lord.
