Northern Kentucky University Laws to Govern Management Treatment of Employees Discussion Business Finance Assignment Help

i have disccusion board i need you to do and reply for two discussion board as well.

discussion board question;

Are there laws that govern management’s treatment of employees? If so, what are they, what are they suppose to accomplish, and do they accomplish their goals (in your opinion and/or with factual data)?

Should we need laws to govern management’s treatment of employees? Why or why not?

first discussion board need to reply :

There are certainly laws that govern managements treatment of employees on the books. They were created to benefit, as well as protect, the employee subject to the employers governance. They create a stable and safe work environment for all employees, and set clear guidelines for what is, and is not, okay in the workplace. The Fair Labor Standards Act makes it so an employer cannot demand too long of hours from employees, and must pay them to a certain degree. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act prohibits sex discrimination, and protects employees from a hostile work environment. These are all in place, and do a magnanimous job of protecting employees.

Although i think that we very much so shouldn’t need laws to govern management’s treatment of employees, there certainly is a necessity. Discrimination, sexual harassment, as well as quid pro quo and the likes are all situations that one could find themselves in the workplace, and in a position subjugated due to dealing with a superior. These laws allow employees to remain safe and feel more comfortable, and also lend to developing a culture that prioritizes them more.

second discussion board :

There are numerous laws that govern managements treatment over employees. I went on to the U.S Department of labor website and under the Summary of the Major Laws of the Department of Labor, numerous laws were stated.

Three that I thought were very important were the wages and hours law, the family and medical leave act and workplace safety and health. The Fair Labor Standards Act prescribes standards for wages and overtime pay which affects private and public employment. It requires employers to pay covered employees the federal minimum wage and overtime pay of one-and-one-half-times the regular rate of pay. They also have laws that forbids certain ages working during specific times in their life.

The family and medical leave act requires companies to give 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave to eligible employees for the birth or adoption of a child or serious illnesses to immediate family members. Finally, the workplace safety and health law requires companies to adhere to the standards set for workers to be safe and healthy and away from any possible hazards.

I think it is paramount that management have laws put in place for employees. Unfortunately, if they are not put in place some companies would take advantage of the employees as they want to make as much money as they can for themselves. The laws give some power to the workers and keep them safe and secure and not at the mercy of the management with everything.

“Integrity without knowledge is weak and useless,

dreadful.”–Samuel Johnson

Emotional vs. Moral Intelligence

Riddle: What do you get when you have someone high on emotional intelligence and low on moral intelligence?

1. Give me your answer to the Riddle

2. Do some research on emotional intelligence after reviewing the information on moral intelligence. How are they similar, and how are they different? Why are both important?

——————————————————————————————————————————————————–

first discussion need to be reply to :

  1. You get someone who is overly emotional but has no sense of direction when it comes to acting upon their emotions.
  2. Emotional intelligence has five components (1) self awareness (2) self regulation (3) motivation (4) empathy (5) social skills. Moral intelligence is based on knowing right from wrong and basing your choices on what is right. They similar because they both help you make choices that re based on what is right, they differ by the pathway of getting to that choice. They are both important because they are integrated into the human psyche and how we go about making choices. Everyone has a compass of some sort that they use to help make their life choices, but everything has different settings on what they use to make those choices. The best way I can think to explain it would be how (almost) everyone has a cell phone, but we all have them set up differently, everyone has a “moral” compass it just has different factors it takes into consideration before making a decision.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

second discussion board need to reply6 to

Emotional intelligence is the ability of an individual to perceive process and ensure that emotions are regulated within oneself and be able to use the ability to ensure his or her thinking influences others positively. It is a condition that makes a person feel fulfilled and happy as they apply the standards of intelligence. Low Moral intelligence means that ethically the person is poor and cannot apply the right life behaviours in real life.A person with a high emotional intelligence might influence others negatively because they can convince others and influence them into seeing a condition that is normally wrong and view it as positive. In such conditions, such a person should be made aware of his failures. They are similar in a way that they are on approach to behaviour and are important in making decisions in life althou8gh a mixture of the two makes a person look deceitful.
