Grandfield College As with any database, data integrity is important to the software database at Grandfield College. If they are audited, they have to show that they know what software they have, how it is licensed, and on what machines it is installed. Accident and error are the most likely threats to their data integrity, but it is always possible that someone might try to purposely disrupt their data.

To do

Create tables of the data access needs of your users.

Create a security plan that includes authentication and authorization and general policies and procedures. Consider the use of roles, stored procedures, views, and other tools. Documentation: Document and define all the aspects of your plan.

Create a preliminary threat analysis. Make a preliminary disaster management plan.

Create a view of the data that is tailored to the needs of one of your uses.

For extra-credit, create a stored procedure that executes one of the basic activities for your database (installing a piece of software, for instance, or processing a software request).

A budget is simply an estimate of income and spending over a period of time. Budgets take many forms and are usually crafted with specific financial goals in mind, such as 10-year term of repayment for student loans or 1-year budgeting for a savings account. Individuals often use a monthly budget for entertainment, groceries, utilities, and rent or mortgage. Businesses and finance professionals do this same exact thing, usually emphasizing profit maximization.

Going “over budget” is a common concern for finance professionals—it means there might be less profits. And yet, you hear people going over budget more than you hear people say that they have gone under budget or exactly achieved their financial goals using a budget. Despite the number of times businesses and individuals cannot stay within budget, companies still use them to support their decisions. This process perpetuates the idea of budgets as useful for control, but not necessarily for planning. Think about your own finances and budgeting. Do you agree with this idea?

After reading these articles, consider the following:

• The need for an organization to have a Disaster Recovery Plan.
• How the attacks of September 11, 2001 affected Barclay’s Capital and Putman Investments.
• Whether or not Barclay’s Capital and / or Putman Investments had a disaster recovery plan. If so, what were the parts of the plan that allowed each of them to continue operations? If not, what should a disaster recovery plan have included in order to continue operations?

1. Identify the steps an organization should take to recover from a disaster and resume the business operations to normal mode.
2. Suggest two (2) methods that organizations can use in order to mitigate the risk of data loss.
3. Suggest two (2) methods that organizations can use in order to minimize the impact on personnel after a disaster.
4. Examine both Barclay’s Capital’s and Putman Investments’ situations on September 11, 2001. Determine two (2) factors that contributed to a successful disaster recovery and two (2) factors that hindered a successful disaster recovery for each organization.
5. Use at least three (3) quality references in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources.

As the country focuses on the restructuring of the U.S. health care delivery system, nurses will continue to play an important role. It is expected that more and more nursing jobs will become available out in the community, and fewer will be available in acute care hospitals.
