You must underline your thesis
You must mention the story’s various elements and literary devices and their impact on the reader.
Assignment:
In this project, you will choose at least one piece of literature from one of the authors we have studied in this class and research the key story elements and literary devices used in these works of literature and the impact they may have on the reader.
Begin this paper by stating the author and work(s) you wish to explore. Next, provide a summary of the short story, novel, or poem and list specific literary devices that you plan to analyze. In this section, you may want to include a brief biography of the author. Next, state your thesis. Do your best to develop this proposal into a full page. Keep in mind, your thesis will go through a state of evolution throughout this project. Be that as it may, consider that the majority of this proposal could function as an introduction to your final project. What is most important at this point, however, is that you are thorough in your exploration, and your proposal flows clearly from beginning to end. A list of potential authors is below:

Research Report: 25 points
Due 05/06 (Please turn in 4 pages by this date, the 4 pages can be used in the final draft that is due on the 13th which should be at least 8 pages)
Requirements:
4 pages minimum
At least 5 sources properly cited in MLA format.
Sources must be cited on a works cited page.
All sources on the works cited page must be cited in the paper.
Assignment:
In this report, you will write a mini-research paper. Include at least 5 of your sources, mentioning at least the authors of the text, what’s discussed in the text, and the pages where you found this material (if possible).
In order to be successful on this portion of the project, it is essential that you have already spent some quality time researching your topic, and you have obtained some various materials from the library databases. Also, make sure your research report is organized and clearly flows. Keep in mind, that you could use the majority of this report in your final paper. You may include your topic and thesis proposal in this report, and it will count as a page. You must also include a works cited page, but that doesn’t count as one of your 4 pages.
Research Paper: 100 Points

Requirements:
8-10 pages
At least 6 sources, cited on works cited page, and cited in the text of your paper
MLA format including a work cited list in alphabetical order and parenthetical documentations.
You must underline your thesis
You must quote from your primary text in every body paragraph.
All sources on the works cited list must also be directly cited within the body of the paper.
Assignment:
In this paper, you will take at least five of your secondary sources and at least one primary source and incorporate them into your paper to support your analysis. There must be a direct correlation between what you incorporate into your text and what appears in your works cited list.
