Substance Abuse Assessment and Intervention Plan Writing Assignment Help

For your Final Project, you will apply the information you have learned in this course to critically analyze a specific case study (Final Project Case Study: Lisa

) and develop a Substance Abuse Assessment and Intervention Plan based on it. Your Final Project must explain the choices you made in your plan and be supported with scholarly references from the professional literature (e.g., Addictive Behaviors, Drug and Alcohol Review, Journal of Child & Adolescent Substance Abuse, Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment, Substance Abuse).

Your Final Project should include all of the following sections:

1. Substances abused and implications of abuse

2. Biological predispositions

3. Family considerations

4. Cultural considerations

5. Therapy model

6. Assessment and diagnosis

7. Treatment plan and intervention strategies

Stevens, P. W., & Smith, R. L. (2018). Substance abuse counseling: Theory and practice (6th ed.). Upper Saddle River, NJ: Pearson Education, Inc.

Bride, B. E., MacMaster, S. A., & Webb-Robins, L. (2006). Is integrated treatment of co-occurring disorders more effective than nonintegrated treatment? Best Practices in Mental Health: An International Journal, 2(2), 43-57.

Case Study:

Lisa (32) is a heterosexual-identified Mexican American female and mother of twin boys (8) who has come to your agency to address substance abuse concerns at the suggestion of her defense attorney. In your initial session with Lisa, you learn that she began using marijuana and drinking alcohol at age 12, using cocaine at age 14, and shooting heroin at age 16. She claims that she has not used heroin in the last five years, although she continues to drink and to use methamphetamines.

She was referred to you because after a night of heavy drinking and methamphetamine use, Lisa had an argument with her boyfriend Charlie, pulled a knife on him, and threatened to kill him. Charlie was able to run to another room, where he called the police. Lisa attempted to stab him under the door, and finally tried to cut through the door, lodging the knife in the wood. Frustrated, she then got in her car and left. Police stopped her several blocks away, and she was charged with her third incident of driving under the influence (DUI). At the time of the incident, her sons were at her mother’s house. In addition to facing charges for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, Lisa now faces the possibility of losing custody of her children.

Lisa lived in poverty her entire life, and grew up in the economically disadvantaged west side of San Antonio. Her father, who died of a drug overdose, used heroin as long as Lisa could remember, and beat Lisa’s mother. Lisa frequently intervened. Lisa’s father had wanted Lisa to be “tough,” so he and his brothers had her and her male cousins box each other while the men bet on which child would win. As Lisa grew older, she learned that her survival depended on fighting. She joined a gang in middle school, and has remained connected to the gang ever since.

Lisa blacks out at times when she experiences rage. Her blackouts may last from several minutes to several hours. Lisa has always experienced blackouts, although, because she has used drugs and alcohol nearly every day for 20 years, she is unable to tell you much about the correlation between the blackouts and her drug and alcohol abuse. When she recounts this last incident with Charlie, however, she shares that she acted “just like my dad did to my mom,” and that the last thing she remembers in her fight with Charlie was “my dad’s voice getting really loud,” even though her father has been deceased for 10 years.

For your responses to your classmates, pick a submitted problem and share a trick or strategy that you used to conquer that topic. Let me know if you have any questions.

The ages (in years) of the 5 employees at a particular computer store are

29, 28, 26, 34, 28

Send data
to Excel

Assuming that these ages constitute an entire population, find the standard deviation of the population. Round your answer to two decimal places.

(If necessary, consult a list of formulas.)

Summation of Indexed Data

The following is a list of 15 measurements.

91, 52, -82, 58, -2, 16, 4, -40, 37, -94, 52, 79, -38, 80, -41

Send data
to Excel

Suppose that these 15 measurements are respectively labeled

For this particular problem, I just looked at the diagram or the way its set up in ALEKS to solve the equation. This topic may relate to my career by conducting a meeting on how may students each teacher should have per class. I think that the strategy to this problem is very mind blowing. You have to think about how you are going to solve the problem because it can be adding, dividing, subtracting, or multiplying.

I actually solved the problem in ALEKS before I shared it with everyone and I did not post the answer that I got. Can anyone solve the problem or think they know what the answer is?

Tropic of Chaos writing assignment -02 Writing Assignment Help

Read this : Parenti, Tropic of Chaos: Chapters 4-5; 16 (pp. 39-65; 225-242)

Reading link:

Read only chapter 4 and 5 would be fine.

Here is the writing instruction:

Assignment 7 Instructions:

Word length 400 words.

Do not use quotations

For this writing assignment you are to synthesize the week’s readings: two of your choice. Recall that at the beginning of the term we had a synthesis assignment as well. The overall objective of this synthesis piece is to distill the main arguments of various pieces into a coherent, short few paragraphs. Keep in mind, THIS IS NOT A REVIEW piece, therefore, do not give a description of each chapter. Rather, to synthesize, you ought to capture the essence of author’s augments or themes that transcend the chapters, while in addition, bring up interesting points the author makes, highlight conflicting or seemingly inconsistent arguments, or raise paradoxes in thinking.

A review paper gives a description of who said what.

A synthesis paper provides the broader significance of what was said.

Refresher from week 1:

To synthesize means to assemble parts into a new whole. The parts are the different readings, each representing a distinct view or understanding on a range of topics. The “whole” is your new writing piece that considers the various arguments and viewpoints. The “whole” ought to also include your thoughts and reflections. You may agree, disagree with the readings. But a good synthesis often brings into focus paradoxes, contradictions, or other seeming inconsistencies in the readings and course materials. Regardless of what is your position regarding the readings, make sure to back up your arguments with evidence and citation.

A synthesis is NOT a review of she said, he said, and this person said, and I agree with this person. A synthesis captures the essence of the arguments (sometimes from several different sources) and grapples with the ways in which the arguments align and diverge. And presents an interesting take or oversight that hasn’t been discussed thus far.

You are required to synthesize information from the sources into your argument. Remember that the sources won’t make your point. They provide supporting information, perspectives, viewpoints.

Resubmit Module 1 Assignment (SLP) Business Finance Assignment Help

Module 1 – SLP 1

To begin the MGT599 SLP sequence, you first need to first run the simulation using the Default Decisions. In other words, use the prices and R&D percentages that are already there (do not change any decisions made by Joe Thomas).

Capture or collect the results for each product (W1, W2, and W3) for each year that you run the simulation. Copy (using Excel, by hand, or some other method) the financial results and marketing results, as well as the information provided by your Advisor.

Read the following scenario carefully before you proceed:

It is December 31, 2016. Joe Thomas, the VP of Marketing at the Wonder Company, is smugly patting himself on the back for how well he has done with pricing and product development of the three company products: W1, W2, and W3. Of course, Joe knows his strategy was not creative at all (i.e., he did not change any prices or R&D allocations over the past five-year period: 2012 through 2016). But he is certain that he really did not need to change anything anyway, and that his overall performance is proof of his good work.

Sally Smothers, the CEO of Wonder Co., knows better, and she fires Joe (but why did she wait so long?).

On the same day Joe is fired, you are hired to replace him. And so…here you are, on December 31, 2016, as the new V.P. of Marketing of the Wonder Company. You are ready to move the company ahead into 2017. Your boss, Sally Smothers, expects you to make intelligent and informed product development and pricing decisions (after all, you are an MBA).

Session Long Project

Write a 6- to 7-page paper (not including cover and reference pages), using Sally’s instructions, which follow:

Sally asks you to review Joe’s decisions from 2013 through 2016 to see what was going on in terms of product development, sales, pricing, and performance. Your final report is due on Sally’s desk by January 15, 2017 – you have only 2 weeks to run the simulation, analyze your results, and write up the report, so you had best get started on this now!

Using the default decisions (i.e., make no changes within the simulation), analyze Joe Thomas’s decisions and results, and then write the report that Sally is requesting. Access the Wonder Company simulationand collect the data for each year. Determine where you believe Joe went wrong, and propose a new strategy. Support your revised strategy using financial analysis and relevant business theories.

The key aspects to this assignment that are required to be covered in your paper include:

  1. A review of each product – W1, W2, and W3 – its life cycle, and how each product stacks up in terms of price and performance.
  2. Financial review of each product – W1, W2, and W3 – sales, costs, profitability, prices, unit margins, etc.
  3. Market review: New Sales, Repeat Sales, Market Saturation, etc.
  4. Propose an alternate strategy: A general idea of how you might do better with these products: what pricing and R&D allocations, etc., you would have put in place over the last four years, 2013 – 2016. In short, what would you have done differently than Joe Thomas at each decision point? Be specific.

Your paper will be evaluated using the grading rubric.

Please note the following tips and suggestions:

  • Include a cover page and reference page, in addition to the 6-7 pages of written analysis described above.
  • Use section headings as appropriate. Use graphs, charts, or figures strategically – but do not use these as “space fillers.” Include large tables or graphics in an Appendix instead.
  • Cite and reference all sources that you use in your work, including those that you paraphrase. This means include citations and quotation marks for direct quotes, and citations for that information which you have “borrowed” or paraphrased from other sources.
  • Follow TUI Guidelines for well-written papers.

NOTE: Throughout the SLP sequence, you will be asked to make business decisions under conditions of incomplete information and uncertainty. To do so effectively, you will need to make assumptions based on what you have learned throughout the MBA program as it relates to the ways in which markets operate. To this extent, you need to rely on models, financial analysis, and theories from such classes as Organization Behavior, Economics, Finance, Accounting, and Marketing. In addition, the simulation will give you some additional market information as you progress.

Be sure that you draw explicitly on concepts and theories from the courses you have taken throughout the MBA program. That means you must “think like an MBA” and use the various data you are given. You will have to crunch the numbersand present your data analysis professionally by creating some simple tables, charts, and graphs.

How should new employees determine whether to display their preferred workplace art? Writing Assignment Help

Next month, the agency you work for is opening a sister office in a neighboring city. The Board has tapped you as Director for the new location, and you’re thrilled with your promotion. In your capacity as Director, you’ve recently hired several new employees. The latest hires are coming in for training next week, and you want to make sure they understand your vision for appropriate office culture.

On one hand, you want everyone to feel completely comfortable in their work environment. On the other hand, you believe that the best ideas are often the result of creative collaboration between peers, and that some conflict is an inevitability of this process. You’ve learned from your previous position that the best approach to leadership is clear communication of expectations. To convey your complex ideas to incoming personnel, then, you have decided to prepare a professional presentation to share at an upcoming orientation session.

Your goal is to present a “creativity constitution” for the new office. Fortunately, you’ve done something similar to this in segments at your old job. You have the relevant experience to draw on in generating strategies for enhancing both the art aesthetic and level of productivity at work. You also have exposure to methods of avoiding/resolving conflict as passionate ideas bump up against one another. This will surely prove useful in completing your upcoming task.

You have already decided to mimic your old boss and mentor, and to preface your constitution with a brief explanation of why the forthcoming presentation will prove to be so useful for each trainee. Next, for the heart of the presentation, you have deemed it essential to address the following core issues and questions:

  • How should new employees determine whether to display their preferred workplace art?
  • How should art be presented and understood when engaging on the topic with co-workers?
  • How should employees specifically approach each day and every item they encounter in the workplace and the world?
  • How will the creative talents of the employees be challenged while keeping their minds active for the creative process?
  • What activities and problem-solving systems can be utilized, and how will these systems benefit the staff and work environment?
  • What connections can be made between the employees’ level of happiness, stress, and morale to the elements of art and creativity?

You read over your list of questions, satisfied. As you close your laptop, you remember to apply another bit of helpful advice from your ex-boss: Whatever techniques and strategies I decide to recommend should be supported by a high level of thorough analysis.
