Instructions from teacher “This assignment is designed to acquaint you with the way psychologists conduct research and
communicate their findings. Each student will read and critique a journal article. Please choose
an article from the psychology data base. The article you choose must report the results
of an experimental or correlational study. The article should not be a review of the literature,
where the authors simply report the findings of other researchers. Your critique should include
the following:
Summary – summary of the problem, hypotheses, methods, results, and conclusions. Where was
the research conducted? Who were the participants? What were the conclusions?
Critique – critique the study’s methods and conclusions. Would you have done the study
differently? Can the research be replicated? Could the results of the study have been caused by
something else? Is there enough evidence to support the conclusion?”
