Specific Guidelines

1. After thoroughly reading your Professional Life Languages profile write a 4 or more pages double-spaced paper—(size 12 font)—that provides answers to the questions below.

Your paper should be divided into four parts, each of which contains the following information. Type Part 1: or Part 2: etc, before beginning each part of this paper. In each Part, label your answers as (a), (b), (c), etc., to correlate with each specific question in each part.

Since your paper is already double spaced, Do Not skip any extra lines when transitioning from one part to the next part of your paper. Simply move to the next line.

2. After reading your entire Life Languages Professional profile, provide answers to the following questions:

Part 1: Read the information in the Communications Styles chart, which is located at the top of page three of your Professional Life Languages profile.

(a) Briefly identify, in one or two horizontal (not vertical) lines, your Communication Preference by listing each of your Life Language names and the Language score—in descending order—from the Primary (1^st) language all the way down to your (7^th) language.

For example:

Primary: Mover–77.8, Second: Producer–62.4, Third: Shaper: 57.64 etc.

(b) What is your Range score?

(c) What is your Overall Intensity score, which can be found on the last line of the same Communication Styles chart? Is your score very high, high, medium, or low?

Part 2: After reading your entire Professional Life Languages Profile, describe in three or more sentences each what you learned about your unique set of Life Languages that will help you to more effectively communicate with and relate to others as (a) a student (b) a family member, (c) an employee, (d) a team member, and (e) a manager or leader?

Part 3: Your Communication Indicators: (a) In three or more sentences per indicator, discuss what did you learned about yourself from reading the detailed information in your Life Language Profile that pertains to each of the following communication indicators? 1. Acceptance Level; 2. Interactive Style: 3. Internal Control; 4. Intrusion Level; 5. Projective Level; 6. Susceptibility to Stress; 7. Learning Preference. (b) How will knowledge of these Communication Indicators help you to better understand yourself and to manager others more effectively?

Part 4: (a) Discuss, in two paragraphs of five or more sentences per paragraph, what you learned about yourself after reading the information about the four Keys for Success for your top THREE Life Languages and your last (seventh) Life Language. Pay particular attention to the definition of each Key for Success, which can be found in the area that explains your Primary (first) Life Language. (b) In several sentences discuss what your thoughts are after reading the Career Information and the Fun Facts that relates to your Primary Language? In what ways can this information be helpful to you? (c) Of the seven Life Languages, which two Life Languages would you like to increase your communication in? Explain in several sentences why you selected each of the two Life Languages.

When a student is not presenting a case as part of a consultant team – they are still expected to read the case and prepare for the presentation session as if they are on the management team of the subject company in the case. Those students (not presenting) will submit an email / prep memo to their boss (aka your instructor). Your email should be brief (between 250 to 300 words), written in a business-professional manner, and include the following key components (at a minimum) based on your reading of the case.

COMPONENT	EXPECTATION
GREETING	An appropriate, concise, professional greeting to your boss
MISSION	Describe the company’s function, markets and competitive advantages, in a short statement of their business goals and philosophies. (A mission statement defines what an organization is, why it exists, its reason for being.)
ISSUES	Briefly summarize the key operational issues/opportunities facing the firm and state what you expect the consultants will focus on in their presentation.
QUESTIONS	List three specific, strategic questions you are prepared to pose to the consulting group working on the case
PROFESSIONALISM	Assume your boss asked you to write this email to prepare them for the consulting teams’ presentations. Write in a streamlined, business professional manner.

Case emails will be due prior to the consulting team’s presentations. Post your “case prep email” as an assignment text entry by the deadline indicated on the course website. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Students do not need to submit case prep emails for the case they are presenting as a team. Note: You may be called upon by your boss (the instructor) to ask a question to the consulting teams after the in-class presentations.

As you learned this week, a virtual private cloud (VPC) enables you to launch resources into a virtual network that you’ve configured and gives you full control over those resources. That provides a level of security when you need to control your resources and sensitive data over a virtual infrastructure. But VPCs also have drawbacks, including increased configuration complexity.

VPCs can be deployed into both private and public cloud environments depending on the resources you want to host and how you want to control those resources. You may want to read the article “Do I Really Need a VPC?” and review the graphic before answering the questions below.

Look ahead to this week’s activity in AWS Academy Module 5: Networking and Content Delivery. Address the following questions in your discussions. Be sure to answer all questions in your initial post and respond to two posts by your classmates.

• Describe basic AWS Cloud architectural principles.

• When would you recommend deploying a VPC?
• When would you recommend leveraging a non-VPC serverless approach?
