Database Search instructions
Database searching is a useful tool to find more detailed and peer-reviewed health information. For this assignment, Google Scholar is recommended as a starting point as it draws from the widest spectrum of peer-reviewed articles. However, learn how to use the advanced features. By default, google Scholar searches the entire article for your terms, as it allows you to restrict your searches in a variety of ways. Searching by title only is one useful strategy for limited your search.
Your task is to find some background articles on a specific topic addressing Gender Violence Prevention. There are a wide variety of prevention programs addressing both specific and general forms of gender-based violence. Begin by narrowing your focus down to a specific population and a specific type of GBV; Dating Violence in High School, or Sexual Assault in College are examples of this. The next step is that you want to find literature on prevention. Keep in mind that prevention may include many different activities, trainings, curriculum, policies, etc. Your search terms will most likely include “prevention”, your “violence topic of interest”, and your “population of interest”. Take a screen shot, or copy and paste the first full page of your best search for Part 1
I Attach 1 page printout of your database search results including keywords used. This will tell me the search terms and how many results you found.
II. Attach the first page of your article for the critique below
Part II: Critique
The purpose of this assignment is to provide you with experiences related to finding credible research information on a given health-related topic (prevention of specific forms of gender based violence) , and then be able to understand and translate that information. A second purpose is to help you find some sources for you final project paper, which this semester will be a topic surrounding:
This critique is a three part paper on a current scholarly/journal article of your choice, which you have read, that is related to your Ge Violence Prevention topic paper. Reading and reporting on an abstract of the article does not count.
Each of the first three parts should be no more than one page single-spaced (total of 3 pages). The parts are as follows:
Abstract
Summarize the major points made in the article/presentation in your own words in one page. Assume that the reader has never seen the article.
Critique
Criticize and/or praise specific points made in the article/presentation. Answer questions such as: what was good, what was bad, why? It is helpful to base an argument, criticizing or praising, on ideas discussed in class and especially focus on gender and health implications.
Implications
Answer the question, “What does the article mean to me?” The “me” in this case should refer to you in your future career practice. Certainly the meaning, or the worth of the article is related to your critique. A major implication may be that a particular article has either changed or reinforced your thinking on the subject at hand.

DB 8327 Strayer University Illinois Quality Parts Discussion Business Finance Assignment Help
DB8327
Response to classmate (Sandy Sweat)
The reading below will focus on questions regarding the Illinois Quality Parts case study. This discussion will mention information regarding the mileage cost, the freight cost, and the distance between customers and their warehouse.
Application
The company Illinois Quality Parts Inc is a large distributor of industrial parts and components. According to Watson et al. (2013), the company sells different components such as bearings and belts that are used by manufacturers to make automotive, heavy equipment and industrial parts. In cities Riverside, California, Addison, Illinois, and Bridgewater, New Jersey are the locations in which the products are housed. Equipment manufacturers, small distributors and retailers are among the customers that the company Illinois Quality Parts cater to. For the transportation cost, the company uses an optimized baseline approach, which serves as an anchor. Researched by Watson et al. (2013), an optimized baseline cleans up the baseline, while sustaining a model of what should have happened.
a. Even though we applied a rate of $2/mile, the table (total cost / total miles) shows a rate higher than $2/mile for all warehouses. Why is that? (Hint: Think about the fact that the true transportation rates include minimum charges.) Because true transportation rates include minimum charges, the actual transportation rate could be higher than the minimum charge. Because of the actual mileage to the different locations, the additional cents are the actual costs
b. The solution with the best two warehouses shows an average distance to the customers that is 144 miles higher than the optimized baseline with optimal customer assignments. However, the freight costs for the two scenarios are very close (~$74 million). How can you explain this? The best two warehouses are Baltimore, MD, and Denver CO. What labels these locations as the best warehouses is the match of their freight cost and the and the average distance to customers.
c. When we look at the results of the scenarios shown in Figure 8.10, it looks as though some customers are not assigned to their closest warehouse. Why is that? Does that make sense? Because this company uses the optimization baseline model, this defines why customers are not assigned to their closest warehouse. The optimization baseline model uses all existing facilities, uses existing assignment of facilities to customers, and sometimes let customers receive products from other warehouses.
Conclusion
The company Illinois Quality Parts is a company that manufactures parts that are sold to different companies such as retailers and manufactures. In locations such as California, Illinois and New Jersey are where the products are kept. For their transportation approach, the company uses the optimization baseline model approach, this approach includes all facilities, despite the distance of the warehouse to the customer.

National Intelligence Priorities Framework & Law Enforcement Discussion Law Assignment Help
Db1
For federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement officials, striking the delicate balance between homeland security and the civil liberties of Americans is often seen as the most difficult challenge in combating terrorism and protecting U.S. national security. For this assignment, you are to write 600–800 words discussing this delicate balance. Your posting should specifically address the following questions:
Primary Task Response: Within the Discussion Board area, write 400–600 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas:
- How should federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement meet the need to gather terrorism-related intelligence with the requirement to protect the civil rights of their citizens? Explain.
- What types of data should federal, state, local, and tribal agencies be allowed to store in their intelligence fusion centers? For how long? With what safeguards? Explain.
- What policies should be in place to prevent racial, religious, and ethnic profiling? Explain why.
- How might federal, state, local, and tribal agencies use prevention policies to increase cooperation in local communities? Explain.
Individual Assignment 1
Most people attribute the creation of law enforcement and intelligence fusion centers with the events of September 11, 2001. However, from 1999–2002, a series of major events primed policy makers within the U.S. intelligence and law enforcement communities to formalize cross-community information sharing activities and ultimately to create an effective law enforcement and intelligence information-sharing environment.
As the new millennium was set to begin, Ahmed Ressam (the Millennium Bomber) was stopped as he exited a ferry crossing from Canada to a remote U.S. entry point. The contents found in his trunk would have allowed Ressam to achieve his goal of setting off an explosive device at the Los Angeles airport. This event, which occurred just two years before 9/11, led to meetings regarding the creation of some type of fusion and/or sharing process. Further discussions would advance this idea in the fall of 2002. In October of 2002, unprovoked shootings in the Washington DC metropolitan area resulted in 10 people dead and three critically injured. At the outset of these shootings, a massive police investigation across local and federal levels developed to apprehend the so-named Beltway Sniper. Local and federal law enforcement officials in the East attempted to fit the pieces together and analyze messages left by the killer or killers. This sniper case, combined with previous lessons learned, culminated in the realization for the need to formalize a multijurisdictional information-sharing activity. Members from across the law enforcement community—combining with elements of the homeland security, defense, and intelligence communities—set about institutionalizing this effort as quickly as possible.
Assignment Guidelines
- For this assignment, you are a member of the law enforcement community tasked with institutionalizing this effort.
- Address the following in 2-3 pages:
- What are the challenges for federal, state, and local law enforcement in collecting intelligence information as it pertained to these two events? Explain.
- What lessons were learned from these events with regards to intelligence collection and information-sharing? Explain.
- What recommendations can you offer on how to create an information-sharing environment? Explain.
- How would your recommendation effectively formalize multijurisdictional information sharing to counter some of existing challenges? Explain.
- Be sure to reference all sources using APA style.

You have been embedded on the Kartesia Country Team and are responsible for producing a counterintelligence assessment to forecast the potential counterintelligence threat posed by Kartesia. For many years, Kartesia and the United States have been political and economic adversaries. Kartesia, which is led by an oppressive dictatorship, has long feared that the United States will initiate military action against it to topple the regime and institute a democratic form of government. Although Kartesia’s ability to engage the United States in traditional warfare is limited, it has a very well developed and sophisticated intelligence apparatus that it deploys in the United States, as well as against the U.S. presence within Kartesia in other third world countries. The Kartesia Intelligence Services (KIS) also heavily target antiregime elements in the United States, most of which exist within several large Kartesian émigré communities located throughout the country. Kartesia also has a long history of supporting other groups and countries that are hostile to the United States, including providing financial and logistical support to terrorist groups. The U.S. intelligence community (USIC) has designated Kartesia a high-priority target, as is reflected in the National Intelligence Priorities Framework (NIPF). FBI resources dedicated to countering the intelligence activities of Kartesia in the United States are also in a position to fill these broader USIC requirements. One topic of particular concern to the USIC is whether Kartesia has a program to develop weapons of mass destruction (WMD), and if so, what its plans, capabilities, and intentions are.For this assignment, you must write a paper of 750–1,000 words discussing how U.S. counterintelligence will be used to counter the potential threat from Kartesia.
