literature review

the 5 sources we used on the last question and the 3 sources you will find on the attachment I used for the methodology part we need to do the following:

  • summarize the thesis or main argument of each source
  • briefly discuss the methodology used in the study
  • talk about how each source relates to your research question/statement. In other words, why have you selected the book or article in question? Which aspects of your research question/statement are validated or discredited by the source?

3. The format of the Lit Review should be narrative paragraphs (no bullet-points), and you should demonstrate some understanding of the sources (don’t just quote the important bits). Show that you understand what you have read.

4. Let’s try to get a paragraph (single-spaced), per source.

break-down: analysis and discussion:

In this last section of the research proposal we have put together, you are asked to discuss the type of data analysis you intend to employ to understand and interpret the data you have collected, and whether or not you have addressed your research hypothesis. This section of the proposal is also where you would discuss potential findings and research conclusions.

Your task

Discuss the types of data analysis (quantitative or qualitative) you will employ. You should include a discussion portion in this section, but since this is not an actual research project (merely a proposal) you will not discuss your research findings. Rather, discuss the different venues where you could present your potential findings. These could include conferences or publications.

Considerations

  • Remember to note the differences in analytical approaches between the various methodologies. For example, a survey methodological approach (closed-ended questions), requires a different type of analysis when compared to an in-depth interview which uses open and the questions.
  • If you are using a qualitative approach (like a content analysis), think about how you will identify patterns and themes in your data.
  • Think about how you will code the various data, and how you will indicate whether or not a specific data point fits into a larger pattern or theme.
  • Be specific in your description of venues or publications where your findings could be discussed. Do a little bit of research, and find real conferences and real journals that would be fitting venues for the presentation of your work.

Up in the Air Movie The Morality of Sweatshop Labor Discussion Paper 2 Writing Assignment Help

3 full pages essay, at least 900 words, no outside resources needed, only use in-class source that I provided. Essay Assignment #2

Write an essay in response to the following prompt:

Please examine either the morality of “sweatshop” labor or the condition of labor in the “developed” world (or both if you find it useful to bring them into some relation to each other) as is treated in essays by Maitland, Arnold & Bowie, Krugman, Heidegger, Nietzsche, and Rand, as well as in the film Up in the Air(2009).

Some questions you might address: Is the morality of labor (in sweatshops or corporate offices) best examined in respect to human dignity or the best (or least bad) likely consequences? What role should meaning or freely chosen purpose play in labor? Should we worry about a kind of coercion that one might find in the form of manipulation of the need for meaning such as is on display in Up in the Air (note how United Airlines appeals to “loyalty,” or how Hertz and other companies cultivate a sense of belonging)? What role does exploitation play in the prevailing conditions of labor? Does expression on the part of laborers of a wish to keep their positions (as testified to in the case of sweatshop labor by Maitland, or as we witness in the case of labor in the developed world in Up in the Air) testify to the absence of exploitation? Might exploitation be actually necessary for morality, as Nietzsche would have it? Or, alternatively, are we all only properly pursuing our own self-interest, making the very idea of exploitation nonsense, as Rand would appear to argue? Your essay should be roughly 3 typed and double-spaced pages in length (12 pt. Times New Roman font with 1” margins).

No cover sheet is required. Just type your name, the class, and the time of your discussion section in the top left corner. You are strongly encouraged to discuss all aspects of this course, including this essay assignment, with your fellow students, but the work you turn in must be entirely your own. I would strongly prefer that you rely exclusively on the texts assigned for class and your class notes in the preparation of your essay, but all materials quoted or referenced therein must be properly cited. Proofread your work carefully. It should be entirely free of all spelling and grammatical errors.

How Women Are Mistreated & Sexually Abused in the Watchmen Novel Paper Other Assignment Help

read watchman novel then write research paper about how waman was treated and abused in book

Assume that while your readers have already read Watchmen, they have not read the outside sources you will be providing to back up your claims.

– Begin each body paragraph with a claim that relates clearly back to your thesis statement. In other words, do not let your outside sources drive the structure of your essay by simply summarizing what others have to say. Be sure your thesis statement and claims all clearly reflect one of the critical approaches.

– Quote, paraphrase, and summarize amply, including chapter and page numbers. In addition, you need to effectively integrate your 5-10 outside sources. Use standard MLA format to cite these, and follow the 5 – step process laid out for you in“ Quoting Sources Using MLA.”

– Incorporate evidence from both the graphic novel and an outside source in each bodyparagraph —this includes both quotes and images. When referencing any examples from Watch men, cite the chapter, page, and panel number.

-Include at least one countering move. This will be highlighted blue.

How to Use both Forwarding & Countering Moves with Outside Sources

-Support your own ideas with the prestige of established critics’ names, essentially augmentingy our authority via academic name -dropping.

-Disagree with a known critic, challenging his or her ideas. Do not be intimidated by big names: Your challenge more than likely will be welcome to many readers who share your disagreement.

-Accept a critic’s general statement and apply it specifically — perhaps in ways not originally intended by the critic.

– Conversely you can accept a critic’s specific statement and apply it generally.

– You do not need to find critics who write expressly about your topic. In fact, the stronger, the more original your thinking, the less likely it will be that you will find such specific support. Instead find critics who develop related ideas.

Journal Article Reviews Instructions (in attachment)

Each Journal Article Summary must be 3–5 double-spaced pages (not including the title and reference pages) and created in a Microsoft Word document. Use the following guidelines to create your paper:

  • Start your paper with a title page, correctly formatted per current APA. Use the provided template and the basic current APA components will be in place. Divide your paper into sections with the following Level One headings: Summary, Reflection, and Application as described on the template.
  • Develop a summary (35 points) of the main concepts from the article. Do not duplicate the article’s abstract. If the article describes a research study, include brief statements about the hypotheses, methods, results, discussion, and implications. If any test measures or statistical methods used are given in the article, do not provide detailed descriptions of these. Short direct quotations from the article are acceptable, but avoid long quotes in a paper this size. This section is the foundation of your Journal Article Review (at least a third of your paper). Make sure you include the core points from the article, even if it means a longer section. Do not reference any additional articles in your summary.
  • In approximately 1 page, reflect (10 points) on the article using your own words. Appropriate comments for this part of the paper could include, but are not limited to, your initial response to the article, comments regarding the study’s design or methodology (if any), insights you gained from reading the article, your reasons for being interested in this particular article, any other readings that you may plan to do based upon having read the article, and other thoughts you have that might further enhance the discussion of your article. Your subjective comments in this section must be clearly tied to main points from the article, not peripheral ideas. Again, do not reference any other article.
  • In your final section, in approximately 1 page, write how you would apply (25 points) the information you have learned from this article to a particular counseling setting. Make this setting one that would typically be seen in human services counseling—community services agencies, adoption agencies, volunteer counseling settings such as in churches, etc. Develop this section as if you are a pastor or clinician and your parishioner or client has come to you with a problem—grief, depression, substance abuse, relationships problems, etc.— needing your help. Adequately describe the counseling scenario including the presenting problem. Draw out concepts from the article and apply them to the scenario as if you were guided only by the content of the article. Show the reader how you expressly drew from the journal article in this application section and cite correctly, per APA.

History of art through middle ages Writing Assignment Help

Part 1

Question 1. The Evolution of Greek Sculpture

As we learned this week, sculptors in Ancient Greece strove to achieve perfection in the works of art they created. Carefully examine the following sculptures and read about each one in your textbook, course and video lectures, and through reliable internet resources:

Peplos Kore, from the Acropolis, Athens, c. 530 BCE
Warrior, found in the sea off Riace, Italy, c. 460-450 BCE
Hagesandros, Polydoros, and Athanadoros of Rhodes, Laocoön and His Sons, 2nd-1st c BCE

Then, in a minimum of 2 well-developed paragraphs, answer the following questions:

  • What specific visual similarities do you observe in these three sculptures?
  • What specific differences do you see? Consider the representation of the figure, facial expression or suggested emotion, additional objects portrayed, and the role of the viewer for each sculpture.
  • How is each sculpture representative of the period in Ancient Greece (e.g., Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic) in which it was created?

Be sure to explain your ideas clearly and support them by discussing specific details about each sculpture.

  1. What is the subject matter shown in each work?
  2. What is the belief system or faith represented in each work?
  3. What religious symbols do you observe in each work?

1) DISCUSSION QUESTION

“Is the GDP Still Accurate in the Digital Age?”

What the GDP measures, if anything, has become quite the issue in the digital age. Consider this data:

In 2012, U.S. Real GDP was $15,345.63 billion and Real Per Capita GDP was $48,842 billion.

Five years later, at the end of 2017, U.S. Real GDP was $17,096.18 billion and Real Per Capita GDP was $52,446 billion. (All data was extracted May 20, 2018, from FRED https://fred.stlouisfed.org/.)

Read this blog, GDP: Falling Short, to help you answer this week’s discussion questions.

Reply to these questions in your response:

  • Considering the data above, did the U.S. make progress? Explain your answer.
  • Given what you know now about economics, should the measure of GDP be changed? Why or why not?

Talk with a peer:

  • Review a peer’s post and let him/her know if you agree or disagree with their reasoning about U.S. progress or the measure of GDP.

2) PEER REVIEW #1 (GREGORY)

Good Afternoon Classmates and Professor Stallo,

Based on the information provided you can say the US has improved significantly. The Real GDP is examining the value of all goods and services produced by the economy as a whole. When looking at the information provided it is clear the Real GDP has increase by $1750.55 billion from 2012 to 2017, and the Real Per Capita GDP has increased by $3604 billion.

I do think the GDP should be updated. The information provided within the GDP is very valuable and useful while determining the spending in the economy, but we can improve it in areas such as childcare. The productive capacity of the economy doesn’t grow because of the more dollars spent, but it grows and becomes more productive because of the more resources used to make it day to day. Today, people are using resources they never thought just to survive, and this should be included when determining the GDP.

3) PEER REVIEW #2 (ISABELLE)

Hi Everyone,

When you consider the data above, the U.S. has made progress within those five years. The U.S. Real GDP increased by approximately $2 billion, going from $15,345.63 billion to $17,096.18 billion. The Real Per Capita GDP increased by approximately $4 billion going from $48,842 billion to $52, 446 billion.

Based on the blogpost, “GDP: Falling Short”, GDP used to be the measure of growth mainly for mass production and manufacturing. In the digital age of economy, it has become more difficult to measure accurately. One of many reasons is due to companies not sharing the data needed. When big, profitable companies don’t share their data with the government, it throws off the GDP which in turn doesn’t help the country run as efficiently as it could if it had that data to begin with. Not having that data causes a huge amount of inaccuracy which also doesn’t help the government. Given this reason alone, the measure of GDP should be changed to reflect the current era of the economy. Changing this system should also come with new rules and regulations that all companies have to follow.
