Self-designed personal project Writing Assignment Help
This assignment is required at the end of the semester, but it is one that you should have been working on throughout the course. Select ONE option of accomplishing something for yourself in the first few weeks, and follow general directions to complete, selecting your own personal goals and challenges to work on and monitor your progress. Each assignment asks you to develop goals, engage in activities to address them and track them in some way. Take risks, try new things, and challenge yourself to be a better version of you!
What you select to do and how you monitor and appraise your own progress is up to you. Feel free to submit word documents, power point slides, videos or other media to submit the required elements of the assignment as described below.
OPTIONS (select one)
Read the text “Best self: Be you only better” by Mike Bayer (2019) and monitor your progress on selected semester-long goals. Goal examples can include things such as practicing kindness acts each day, moving from pessimistic to optimistic orientation perspectives, losing weight, living sober, stopping smoking, etc. The final assignment should include your method of keeping track of your goals and a 500 word (2 double spaced pages, 1 inch margin, 12 font) reflection of your journey, including your detailed thoughts about the book.
Goal attainment scaling is a technique used in a variety of fields for tracking personal goals. Select 2-4 personal goals to work on throughout the semester and complete the Goal Attainment Scale sheet posted on Canvas. This assignment should reflect regular, at least weekly, tracking of your self-selected activities to reach your goals. For example, if you selected “improving physical fitness” you may have selected going to the gym 3 times per week for 1 hour, cycling 5 times per week for 10 miles, or exercising to target heart rate 4 times per week. Progress metrics might be weight, time to target heart rate and return to baseline, or fitness other measures. Final assignments should include your goal sheet and weekly tracking, photos of you participating in your selected activity, as well as a 1000 word ( 4 double spaced pages, 1 inch margin, 12 font) reflection paper that describes your perspectives on your progress and challenges.
Select one new stress management activity that you can do at least 2-3 times weekly over the entire semester. This choice would be best for someone who wished to commit to an activity such as yoga, spinning/cycling, running, or playing basketball OR engage in a new diet, sober-living, or tech-free days plan routinely each week. It’s similar to #2 but how you measure progress is more flexible. Final assignments should include calendar documentation of regular participation, photos/videos of you participating in your activity, and a 1000 word ( 4 double spaced pages, 1 inch margin, 12 font) reflection paper that describes your perspectives on your progress and challenges.

Discussion: Post-Modernism Now!
On the preceding “Overview” page were several bulleted points that characterize the Post-Modernist period in which we currently live along with a link to further your understanding. Considering our contemporary culture, select two (2) of the bulleted points below and discuss whether or not you feel the statements accurately reflect our culture. Cite specific examples of how these statements are apt characterizations of this generation, or how they are not.
Approx. 400 words
- Truth and error are synonymous – Facts, postmodernists claim, are too limiting to determine anything. Changing erratically, what is fact today can be false tomorrow.
- Self-conceptualization and rationalization – Traditional logic and objectivity are spurned by postmodernists. Preferring to rely on opinions rather than embrace facts, postmodernist spurn the scientific method.
- Traditional authority is false and corrupt – Postmodernists speak out against the constraints of religious morals and secular authority. They wage intellectual revolution to voice their concerns about traditional establishment.
- Ownership – They claim that collective ownership would most fairly administrate goods and services.
- Disillusionment with modernism – Postmodernists rue the unfulfilled promises of science, technology, government, and religion.
- Morality is personal – Believing ethics to be relative, postmodernists subject morality to personal opinion. They define morality as each person’s private code of ethics without the need to follow traditional values and rules.
- Globalization – Many postmodernists claim that national boundaries are a hindrance to human communication. Nationalism, they believe, causes wars. Therefore, postmodernists often propose internationalism and uniting separate countries.
- All religions are valid – Valuing inclusive faiths, postmodernists gravitate towards New Age religion. They denounce the exclusive claims of Jesus Christ as being the only way to God.

Discussion 1: Week 1
Collaborative meaning making focuses on how communication is translated between two people. According to the book, “Bridges Not Walls” by John Stewart, collaborative meaning making “begins when a sender gets a idea that he or she wants to communicate” (Stewart 2012). From there, the message is translated into words and depending on how the message is received, the words can be a successful conversation or miscommunicated. “When an idea is the same as another idea, the communication is successful. When the two ideas don’t match, there’s a miscommunication thats somebody’s fault”. (Stewart 2012).
People’s personalities and and behavior blends might influence collaborative meaning making, as well as how other effectively communicate. According to the DISC personality test, there are 4 personality traits; active/outgoing, task-oriented, people oriented, and passive/reserved. According to the author Mels Carbonell, “We usually struggle with people because of the way they say or do things. Our personalities often influence our actions and words. By understanding not only our own but others’ personality patterns, we should be able to improve our people- problems. (Carbonell 2008).
My personality/behavioral blend is between active task oriented and people task oriented. Being a active task oriented person sometimes causes me to be known as a very direct and blunt person. With this type of communication skills, it is important for me to really listen to others while I am engaging in conversation, as well as making sure I am not interrupting. On the other end, I can also be very social and friendly, which usually causes me to be very optimistic about a lot of things. Personally, I feel as though I can relate to different groups of people, but might have a huge challenge of communicating with others.

People are comprised of a certain one of a kind attributes and qualities that make all of us unique and outstanding. There are four distinct classes of conduct, as sketched out in the Disk Model of Human Behavior (Carbonell, 2008). All individuals fall into an assortment of types, making up a conduct mix of characteristics that are exceptions to that individual. After addressing the inquiries of the Uniquely You character profile, I discovered that my character type falls under the I type in the “expected of me” and the S/I in “this is me” segments (Uniquely You, 2017). As an “I,” I am more influenced, inspiring, entertaining, interested in people, inducing, and impressing. I like to stand out and be famous. This personality is often described as the best type, but can also be the most prideful and egotistical. “I” people love to talk and affect people with their multitude of words and stories. As a high “I / S” or “S / I” personality type, I am very people-oriented. I am more comfortable with people than working on tasks by myself. People find I am very friendly. I am both outgoing and reserved. I can either stand out in a crowd or blend well in a small group. I tend to be active and passive. I can be energetic and expressive, as well as quiet and shy. I can be very inspiring, influencing, and impulsive in a crowd of people. Alternatively, I can be submissive, soft, and sensitive, either one-on-one or with a small group. I am consistently more relational than tactical or technical (Uniquely You, 2017).
When looking at the self-assessment of my communication skills, results, one thing stands out the most. My ability to understand people. I had an insightful score of 100 and 86 in listing skills, which helped boost my overall rating to a 69 classifying me a “good communicator.” My lowest score was dealing with emotion. This is my weakest section do to my lack of ability to express my feelings to others about how sure thing makes me feel. I honestly feel like my results are very reflective of how I am as a person. I enjoyed the assignment and getting to understand myself further. It allows me to know areas to improve in as well as my strengths.

answering those questions Business Finance Assignment Help
Measurement before Management
Richard Brusher works for a major global food & beverage management company. His corporation has decided that his talents, honed as head of strategy for the brand, need to be targeted towards the north-eastern sector of the United States. This region has sixty-four restaurants and is presently the corporation’s weakest performing region. Of particular concern to his boss is the ability of one of the competitors in the region to respond to market forces more readily, leaving the company at a major disadvantage. One competitor in particular always seems to have its finger on the pulse and adjusts its menu pricing perfectly to meet shifting demand seen in the region. It packages deals constantly to meet with high approval, and owners couldn’t be happier.
Having been burned from the many “if you buy it, they will come” computer solutions offered by many dot com vendors, management is skeptical of purchasing new systems. Fortunately, Richard has a history of solving problems with little increased spending due to his ability to manage and use information effectively. Management is in clear agreement that the company presently at a competitive disadvantage. Rather than react to every new offering a competing restaurant may introduce to the marketplace. Richard and his boss concur that the best strategy to compete is to better use information and to build a solid foundation of smart business practices blended with customer focuses services and quality food & beverage offerings. The following five goals have been established and will be used as the basis of measuring Richards performance over the next year:
- Increase revenue by 5%
- Increase customer covers by 6%
- Increase Guest Service Index (GSI) scores to 3.5 (on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the most satisfied and 1 being the least satisfied)
- Decrease food cost by 5%
- Reduce employee turnover by 15%
Current Systems
Luckily for Richard, each restaurant recently upgraded its technology applications portfolio. Currently each restaurant shares similar network infrastructure and common operating system. High-speed internet access is available at all properties on personal computers using Microsoft Windows Software, despite being upgraded, has not been standardized throughout the company. Among the sixty-four restaurants in Richards region, there are three different restaurant POS systems, and three different database architectures in use. Additionally, work processing, spreadsheets and other productivity software differ from property to property. Browser software is equally divided in the company between Internet Explorer and Firefox.
Current Procedures
Report compilation and dissemination requires each restaurant auditor to fax flash reports to the regional office where the numbers are entered manually into spreadsheets so that a consolidated report for the region can prepared. Comment cards, the sole measurement of the GSI scores, are mailed to the corporate office each week. The corporate office compiles the scores to create the GSI index and then mails a printed report to the regional office each month. The food and beverage director submits bi-weekly purchasing history and nightly sales data to the restaurant manager who compiles the data and emails a series of reports to the regional office. Each month, the regional office emails a series of summary financial and operating reports to the corporate office and each property in the region detailing actual performance versus budget and year-to-date-statistics. These reports are then reviewed by the general manager and become subject to discussion in manager meetings in each restaurant.
Richard has some great ideas for a new strategy, He knows that he has to be able to measure what he is about to manage. Our learning activity is based on that theme.
Learning Activity
- What are the key problems facing Richard and his organization as described in this scenario?
- If you were in Richard’s shoes how might you go about addressing these challenges?
- What would be your strategy and why?
- Be sure to provide appropriate justification and a specific (i.e., detailed and measurable)action plan.
- Before any action is taken, what managerial measurements must be implemented for the company’s five goals, and how should these be implemented?
- What procedural changes are required at each property and at the regional and corporate offices?
- How should these changes be introduced, and who should lead the change effort?
- Would any of data required access restriction?
- If so, who should have access, and to which data?
- Evaluate the technology applications portfolio and infrastructure for Richard’s company.
- What are the strengths and limitations?
- In what ways is technology being used effectively?
- Where is there room for improvement?
- What changes would you suggest and why?
- If you were to design a balanced scorecard approach for measuring and monitoring performance and the overall health of the organization for Richard’s company, how would you go about it?
- Where would you start?
- What issues might you face, and how would you overcome them?
- What would your proposed balanced scorecard look like?

Essay on Civil Rights after 1965. HAVE ESSAY NEED IT RE WRITEN! Humanities Assignment Help
I have an essay for reference but I need it reworded.
Requirements: With the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 many Americans felt that the issue of race had been “solved.” Yet the the most prominent leader of the Civil Rights Movement, Martin Luther King Jr. as well as the president of the United States, Lyndon Johnson, both disagreed with this triumphalist rhetoric. There was indeed a much more intractable component of civil rights that went beyond legal inequality–social (or economic) inequality and its overlap with race in the United States. Write a paper in which you analyze how these two leaders defined Civil Rights after legal equality and voting had already been guaranteed. Why did they argue there was more to be done? In what ways were the two men in dialogue?
Think about what the authors’ agendas were and analyze the documents in the context of the early or later 1960s. Who or what were the authors in dialogue with? That is, who or what was the target of the piece? And how were the authors defining the relationship between freedom and what it means to be American? Remember, your argument can only be answered using the document you are analyzing. So you can NOT, for example, argue that MLK was right (that’s your opinion) or Betty Friedan’s argument led to a backlash (even if it did you can’t support that using her document). Therefore, the argument you make has to be supported using their words. Analyze THEIR arguments and what they meant, not external facts.
Quote the text to support your argument and don’t let those quotes speak for themselves, analyze what they mean and be explicit in showing how they support your argument(s). In other words, tie them back to your thesis.
Your paper should be about 4-5 pages, double spaced, 1 inch margins, 12 point font.
I put the essay below along with two documents if you need them
