The Assignment. Using the frameworks and ideas presented in the readings on IT investment, each student will analyze a real-world investment in IT that they are either contemplating or have recently made for their personal use (e.g., personal laptop, tablet, etc.).

The Analysis. At a minimum, the analysis should include a strategic business case (300-500 words) and a financial business case (no more than 1500 words). Refer to chapter 13 and 14 for guidance on how to construct these cases. Also, whereas the strategic business case is a relatively short narrative, the financial business case should include one-time and recurring costs and benefits, as well as tangible and intangible costs and benefits. It is also important that the student explain how they monetized the intangible costs and benefits. The financial analysis should conclude with a table similar to Table 14-4 from the S&Z text, i.e., the analysis should include costs/benefits over time, and include calculations for NPV, ROI, and Payback Period (no IRR required). Students can consider their personal time worth $100/hour and that their personal “cost of capital” is 10%.

The Deliverable. The deliverable is a 1500-2000-word document and will be uploaded as a single Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx) to the course “Dropbox” on the published due date.

Assignment #1: PICOT Question and Justification

The Purpose of this assignment is to formulate a clinical question that will be the basis for the quality improvement proposal you will be beginning this semester.

Consider the type of patient care issue that you would like to learn more about. You can also refer to the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators for a list of possible topics to research.

Before you decide on a PICOT question, you should do a quick search in a library database to see if there are enough published articles on your topic. You can also find helpful information on how to pick a PICOT question by visiting this site: https://libguides.umuc.edu/nurs410, and clicking on “Picking a PICOT question: Test it first” tab.

Describe the background of the question, present the question using the PICOT format, and discuss your rationale for selecting this question. The paper should be no more than 3 pages (not including title page and references).

De Anza College Chapter 6 of Social Problems Reading Response Humanities Assignment Help

chapter6 of social problems

Each reading response has two parts:

  1. Notes on the assigned reading
  2. A letter to Jen with your thoughts about the reading

READING NOTES

Take notes on the reading that are organized in a visually memorable way. Your notes must define key concepts and capture key points from the reading. If you prefer to take notes by hand, that’s fine–upload photographs of your notes. For many of us, our notes will be most helpful if they are organized in strongly visual ways, such as diagrams, concept maps, or brain doodles. If you are unfamiliar with these approaches, you can learn more about them here:

  • Draw a diagram, flowchart or concept map of the key concepts/ideas, their definitions and relationships to one another (see How to Create a Concept Mapfor advice about how to make concept maps)
  • Draw visual/doodle notes of the main points of the reading (see http://braindoodles.net/lessons/ for more info about visual notetaking)

LETTER TO JEN

I want a peek inside your brain. 🙂 Write a one paragraph letter/note to me about your thoughts about the reading (and I will write you little notes back). One paragraph is equivalent to roughly 150 words. Here are some questions to choose from to write me about:

  • What new insight does this reading offer you to explain something about your own life?
  • Who in your life or in the world needs to hear something about this reading and what would you say to them about it?
  • What ideas/concepts in this reading are new to you and especially intriguing?
  • How do the ideas in this reading connect to the ideas in another reading we have done this quarter, or things you have learned in other classes?
  • What in this reading challenges your thinking or made you react negatively and how come?
  • What is ONE question that you would like meto answer about this reading and why?

For each reading, you may choose one of the above questions. Be sure to mix it up throughout the quarter—try not to answer the same question every time.

Option #1: Case: Using Tableau to Perform Exploratory Analysis

Complete Lab 4-2 in your text (pages 166-175), and then answer the following questions:

Q1. Using the UML diagram, identify which table(s) and attributes you will need to answer your initial question regarding amount of products sold.

Q2. If the Sales Order Date datatype had imported as number, how might that cause a problem with our analysis if we wanted to dig into the data by month, for example?

Q3. Why did your Sales Order ID attribute import as text when it looks like each field has numerical data in it? Would there be any benefit in Sales Order ID being stored as a number? Why will it not present a problem in our analysis to maintain these data as text?

Adapted from Data Analytics for Accounting (Richardson, et al., 2018, p.166)

EXAMPLE #1-Good Response

1. Ethnic and/or Racial identity:
Living in America, I always identified myself as Chinese American, not fully Chinese and not fully American. Growing up in New York, others would refer to me as Chinese, not Chinese American and not American even though America was where I was born and raised. At a young age, I was exposed to many different cultures through school. The first distinction was observing facial features that differed from mine and seeing food that was foreign to what was normal for me. Although we had differences, we also had many similarities. We were students, we loved to play, and we got along with one another. As I got older I would get called “chink” on the streets by strangers, they would also try to speak Chinese to me without even asking if I was Chinese. Other than these minor unfortunate experiences, I as a Chinese American had a relatively quiet upbringing in terms of facing discrimination because of my heritage. According to the New York Times article authored by Vega (2014), I learned that racial micro-aggressions can take the form of micro-assault, micro-insult, and micro-invalidation. It can have detrimental effects on those who face this discrimination. As social workers our unconscious prejudice thoughts which lead to microaggression can also influence the effectiveness of our services if we don’t recognize our personal tendencies.

Read the case study on General Dynamics, provided as a file.

The Combat Identification Server (CIdS) Technology Demonstrator Project
(TDP) has been delivered on time, with quality and budget parameters
using the Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM). CIdS is a complex
system and software project. The objective is to help clear “the fog of
war” by providing a picture in the cockpit of an aircraft of the
position of nearby friendly forces on the ground. The selection of DSDM
for the CIdS TDP was motivated by the Tactical Datalinks Delivery Team’s
(TDL DT) objective to demonstrate that complex military technologies
could be delivered without delay or cost overrun. The use of DSDM was a
bold move, but the CIdS project delivered successful outcomes for all
involved. In the current economic environment, delivering acceptable
solutions on time and at a fixed cost is surely a priority for the
Ministry of Defense (MoD). The success of the CIdS project has provided a
good example for the project management in the defense sector.

Write a five to six (5-6) page paper in which you:

Speculate on the prominent reasons General Dynamics selected the agile framework they did to use in this project.

Identify the major business problems the project team tried to solve.
Analyze the manner in which the project team applied the agile project
management techniques to ensure they delivered the project on time, on
    budget with good quality.

Give your opinion if you agree with the approach(es) identified in Question 2. Justify your response.

Analyze the manner in which the project teams and coaches master the
agile methodology to solve business problems. Determine the approach
that you believe is the most effective. Provide a rationale for your
    response.

Determine whether or not the agile approach produced more business
benefits than a traditional project management approach. Justify your
    response.

Provide your opinion on the agile coach’s role in this case and
determine if the coach is critical to the success of the project.
    Support your answer.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with
one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA
or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional
    instructions.

Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the
student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date.
The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required
    assignment page length.
