For this assignment, you are required to do some research on the rules and processes in a language of your choice. (Western Persian, I’ve done some basic research already shown in the doc attached)

Follow the following steps and improve my attached doc file.(Mostly what you have to do is only to finish STEP 5 which I did not)

1. Have a title

Do NOT include a separate title page.

2. Be in the form of a report

It should be written in prose (i.e. not point form).

It should have a (brief) introduction and conclusion; it should not start or end abruptly.

It should explain the information presented in the charts/tables/data; it should not assume the reader knows the significance of the charts/tables/data.

3. Briefly give the phonemic inventory of your chosen language (as in Assignment 1)

This should simply be a list of segments; you do not have to put it in a chart this time.

The segments should be in IPA transcription; the segments should be contrastive/phonemic.

4. B riefly give a summary of syllable structures that are permitted in the language (as in Assignment 1)

Your summary should clearly state what can and cannot go into the nucleus, onset, coda, and rhyme of a syllable.

You do not need to give examples or evidence: just a clear statement of facts.

5. Give the details of phonological processes found in your chosen language.

o These can be allophonic processes, neutralization processes, and/or segment~zero processes.

o If you work alone, you must write about 1 process.

o If you work in a group, you must write about 2 processes.

5a. Give a summary of each process in prose.

Summarize which segments undergo the process, what they change into, and the environment in which they change.

Comment on the naturalness of each rule/process.

5b. Write a formal phonological rule to account for each process.

Your rule must use features, even if the process only involves a single segment.

5c. Give examples from the language that serve as evidence of each process.

o clearly show which segments undergo the process and which segments do not (i.e. justify the features you used in the target of your rule)

o clearly show the environments that the process occurs in and the environments where it does not (i.e. justify the features you used in the trigger of your rule)

All language data should be presented in IPA transcription and include the translation.

All transcriptions should clearly indicate whether they are phonemic or phonetic (i.e. show the differences between phonemes and allophones).

6. Include a list of references

In the body of your report, you should clearly indicate the source of all your claims or data.

You should use APA style for your reference list and in-text citations.

Your reference list should start immediately after the end of your report; do NOT purposefully start it on a separate page.

This is an acceptability judgment experiment based on the examples in Gries Chapter 1, section 4 (pp. 48-54). The experiment is meant to test how pronominalization affects the ordering of a particle relative to a direct object. The experiment here is slightly more complicated than the previous experiments we have seen, because there are two independent variables: one is CONSTRUCTION which has two levels (VPO and VOP), and another is OBJPOS which also has two levels (PRONOMINAL and LEXICAL). For more details, consult the reading.

Your task is (i) to construct concrete token sets; (ii) add filler/distractor sentences; (iii) order all materials for presentation.

1. Create 12 concrete token sets of experimental sentences. You are welcome to use the concrete token sets given in Gries’ Tables 13, 14 and 15 as part of your materials. As an answer to this step, list the 12 concrete token sets and describe the properties you took into consideration when you chose your experimental items.
2. Add filler sentences. As an answer to this step, (i) decide and motivate the number of fillers; (ii) describe and motivate the type of fillers you will use, and give examples to support your answer.
3. Order your materials. In your answer: (i) explain how many lists you have and why; (ii) explain how you ordered the sentences and why, and (iii) give one example of a presentation list that illustrates your answers (experimental sentences should be bolded).

Use the attached Risk Assessment tools, it is acceptable to submit an example with different tools. You’ll have to create and submit two different files. I would suggest, you work on both files simultaneously. The first one is a Word file that summarizes the project and what went wrong. Provide at least one-page description. Use your own words to summarize your analysis. You have to state the problem, identify at least five hazards and perform risk assessment. Also, provide your opinion about the control options. Was the PPE a sufficient control option?

The second file will be the completed Excel file with the identified hazards and risk assessment. Your goal is to identify five (5) hazards, record them on the JHA form. After that, transfer the identified hazards to the PHA form. Next, use the provided (5×5) risk assessment matrix (RAM) to identify the highest ranked risks. You can enter severity and probability rankings using the drop-down menu. The risk level will be automatically calculated, and color coded for your convenience. The risk levels are hyperlinked to the PHA form. The values will be automatically transferred to the PHA form. The first row in the PHA form is completed as an example. You can use it as one of the risks or modify it.

For your convenience, a risk heat map is provided for visualization. The hazards (HAZID) are hyperlinked to the Potential Hazard and HAZ short name cells in PHA form. You’ll have to enter the rankings for severity and probability (5×5 scale). Risk Heat Map tool will provide visualization of the level of risk.
