Philosophy Assignment Humanities Assignment Help

A Philosophical Response to Fiction

The response paper is 5 pages.

What you need to do in order to fulfill this assignment is:

  • 1. Create a summary sheet on the fictive piece that includes: characters, plot, themes, and evaluation (for an example see: michaelboylan.net, blog, book reviews)—this will help you start your paper; it is not a part of your paper.
  • 2. Isolate a single passage in the book that you feel is pivotal to the theme of the book (this passage can be consecutive, for example pages 10-22, or it can be constructed on a common theme, for example pages 135-137 & 192-195 & 238-240.
  • 3. Briefly go through the scene highlighting character, plot, and tropes (metaphors, motifs, description, etc.)
  • 4. Try to discern a particular point of view within the passage that mirrors the book
  • 5. Decide whether you agree or disagree with this point of view
  • 6. Set out the relevant practical and theoretical philosophical principles at stake and apply them to the problem.
  • 7. Use 3 philosophical principles to help you create a positive or negative reaction to the author’s theme (in the small and the large realm). If it is positive, think of bringing up objectors and refute them. If it is negative, engage in a dialog with the author—ending up by rejecting position. The theme should be readily understandable from the scene you have chosen.
  • 8. Reflect on the significance of your position. What abstract general points about the world have now been elucidated? * most important point. At least a page.

The Land Conservation Act

The California Land Conservation Act of 1965–commonly referred to as the Williamson Act–enables local governments to enter into contracts with private landowners for the purpose of restricting specific parcels of land to agricultural or related open space use. In return, landowners receive property tax assessments which are much lower than normal because they are based upon farming and open space uses as opposed to full market value.

State funding was provided in 1971 by the Open Space Subvention Act, which created a formula for allocating annual payments to local governments based on acreage enrolled in the Williamson Act Program. Subvention payments were made through FY 2009, but have been suspended in more recent years due to revenue shortfalls.

Your visit to court should only take 30-60 minutes – just collect the info you need then go home and draft your report. Project should be 3-4 pages, double-spaced, and typed.

Information and case schedules can be found on the court’s website. You may visit any courthouse what is located conveniently, but keep in mind that smaller court houses have less cases and you might have to do more than one visit.

  2. Court Address
  3. Name of Plaintiff
  4. Name of Defendant
  5. Date Attended Court (must be during current semester)

Arkansas Best Foods of Jonesboro has agreed to the following terms:

-They have agreed to cover on-site storage of food products with no additional charge

-They have agreed to outsource the labor as well (4 cooks and 28 servers) for an additional $3,000 flat fee for the two-year contract that covers 4 sports seasons (2 football and 2 basketball). In this fee, their employees are responsible for stocking the kitchen the day before the scheduled game as well as cleaning the facility afterward.

-This means we only pay $3,000 in labor over the two years. (They want it paid upfront.)

After the two years are over we have agreed to sit down and renegotiate prices and services.

Our only costs include the price of the food items and the $3,000 labor fee.

Court Visit Paper- Business Law – Court Visit! Business Finance Assignment Help

Court Visit Paper

Business Law – Court Visit!

Instructions for reporting a civil court session

You must visit a live court session to complete this paper unless you have a condition that physically prevents you from attending. You may attend a courthouse of your choice either closer to your home or work. However, larger courthouses have more cases scheduled daily so if you are near a larger courthouse, such as the one in San Francisco or San Jose, feel I would recommend attending one of those. Otherwise, if you go to a smaller courthouse, just make sure to check the schedule early enough so you won’t have to go back to catch a case.

Attend a CIVIL or Small Claims Court Session and do a written report addressing the points below (traffic, probate or family court cases will not be accepted).

Form of Report

  1. Name of Court (i.e. Small Claims, Superior Court, etc.)
  2. Court Address
  3. Name of Plaintiff
  4. Name of Defendant
  5. Date Attended Court (must be during current semester)
  6. Case # (Note: I will be checking to verify you visited a current court case).
  7. Facts of Case (i.e. what did you observe in court)
  8. What does the plaintiff want the court to do
  9. What is the position of the defendant
  10. What is the problem (issue)
  11. Did the court decide the case?
  12. If so, what did the court say about how the case was decided?
  13. If not, then how would you decide the case if you were the judge?
  14. If the court decided the case, do you agree with the court’s decision? Why or why not?

NOTE: You will be graded on following: the form of the report, providing complete answers, providing examples and referencing the text. Find a minimum of two business law issues that relate what you observed to what we covered in class. You will also be graded on organization, and writing skills including grammar and punctuation.
