You are a psychological therapist, and your patient comes in all worried, down and out. The patient claims to have discovered that either dualism about the mind, or ego theory about personal identity, or dynamism about time, or the reality of free will is wrong, false.

Pick one of them and explain why the patient –give him or her a name and a brief description —has reasonably come to suspect that the view is false. Try to justify,as well,why this is bad news from the patient’s point of view, something her or she would be justified in mourning(given who he or she is, say, or some other things about him or her).

Now give a persuasive argument you might make, as the therapist, for why there is NO cause for concern, after all. It could be an argument for why the patient’s reasons for thinking the view is false are mistaken (focus on his or her particular reasoning, not some new argument in defense of the view he or she doubts). OR, alternatively, you could give an argument for why, even if the patient is right that the view (either dualism, or dynamism, or Ego Theory, or free will) is false, there is no reason to feel bad about that.

Finally, who is right between the two? Give one more argument–using new reasons not yet discussed —why either the therapist or the patient is right, in the end, about the philosophical view in question or how one ought to feel about it.

Assignment Description

The final exam is your opportunity to demonstrate that you understand and can apply the service design analysis tools that we have used throughout the course this semester. It is also your chance to demonstrate that you understand, can relate, and communicate how and why various hospitality companies have the service designs that they have. Your final paper will be based on situation in Harvard Business School case #9-504-016, Starbucks Delivering Customer Service.

Question 1 (20%) – Describe, compare, and then contrast the service offering (target market, values and operationalizations) of the Starbucks of 1992 to the Starbucks of 2002.

Question 2 (42%) – Based only on the information provided in case, the argument can be made that customer satisfaction scores with the service experience have declined. Using the Zeithaml, Berry & Parasuraman GAPS model, choose one ‘gap’ that you believe best explains the primary reason for the decline in customer satisfaction scores.

1. (1%) Which ‘gap’ did you choose?

The Chicano movement was a movement that hold dear to a lot of people in the southern side of California because there is a lot of our older relatives that actually participated throughout this time in history or at least have lived throughout this time where there fight for justice of our people was put on the line in order for the betterment of the future of, well us. Although most of our ancestors are not from here the Chicano movement helped out all the future generations. This fight was for some human rights that everyone should not have to march for like ” denied access to economic and educational opportunities” (Corbett et al., 2017, 877) since there was such an injustice in how there was no representation for children and adults as well who were trying to get into the same playing field as children that were born into wealth. The 14th amendment was to have reached all types of working people in order for there to be a leveled playing field with comes in for the natural rights that should be available to all people of walking life because its a natural right to have the ability to maintain a freedom in a country that shouts out for freedom. The board were still signifying the children, American children ” ruled that segregating children of Hispanic descent was unconstitutional”(Corbett et al., 2017, 877) which at the time was unconstitutional and should have always been illegal to try any child of any race that way because of something that they are not able to control or even have a say after. There were many fight for many reasons but the man that is still in many memories was Cesar Chavez because he really did put an imagine of a hard working man that really sought to give his people the time of day and sought to have his people freed from the injustice of those who have power and are using that power to deem others of a different race unworthy of naturally born rights. Although the 1960’s was a while ago, the things that many of those that did something helped out our generation.

RESPONSE 2

The Chicano Movement was known to be the equivalent to the Black Power Movement among Mexican Americans. This movement arose due to the high demand for Latino recognition in the United States because of the racial discrimination of Mexican Americans. Such recognitions include an increase in political power, cultural recognition in the education system, and restoration of land taken after the Mexican-American War in 1848. This event is related to the film “Walk Out” where students from East La decided to walk out of school during the semester to protest against the education systems discrimination towards low-income Latino students. In addition, students were being targeted as criminals and delinquents by police officers and portrayed as bad individuals by the media.

Cesar Chavez was one of America’s greatest influencers for Mexican-Americans to begin protesting against corruption in the United Farm Workers who went on a hunger strike to protest against grape farming. His nonviolent philosophy encouraged others to make a change without creating drama or influencing riots.
