1. Omniscient Inc., a producer of Telescopes and Binoculars, has a total of 400,000 shares of stock outstanding. The current market value of Omniscient is $12 million and it has zero debt in its capital structure. It issues a total of 40,000 warrants (exercise price of $40) to its CEO as incentive compensation.

a)What is the price per share of Omniscient’s stock before the warrants were issued?

b) By how much should the market value of Omniscient increase before the CEO can exercise the warrants?

c) Suppose that the market value of Omniscient increases to $20 million, andthen all the warrants are exercised. (Note: The $20 million market value is before the exercise of the warrants.)

(i)What is the new price per share of Omniscient Stock?

(ii) What is the total gain for the CEO?

(iii) Instead of warrants, now assume that the CEO holds 40,000 call options (that someone gave as a gift) with all the other characteristics held the same. What would be the share price after the exercise of the options? What is the total gain for the CEO?

2. Ryan Home Products, Inc., issued $430,000 of 8-percent convertible bonds. Each bond is convertible into 28 shares of common stock any time before maturity.

a) Suppose the current price of the bonds is $1000 and the current price of Ryan common stock is $31.25.

(i) What is the conversion ratio and the conversion price?

(ii) What is the conversion premium?

b) What is the current conversion value of the bonds?

c) What will be the conversion value if the value of Ryan common stock increases by $2?

3. Quantum, Inc. needs to raise $25 million to construct production facilities for a new model diskette drive. The firm’s straight non-convertible bonds currently yield 14%. Its stock sells for $30 per share; the last dividend was $2; and the expected growth rate is a constant 9%. The firm has decided to raise the $25 million through issuing convertible bonds. The convertibles would have a $1000 par value, carry a coupon of 12%, have a 20-year maturity, and be convertible into 20 shares of stock. The management intends to force conversion when the conversion value exceeds 20% above the bonds’ par value. Quantum has a marginal tax rate of 40%.

a) What is the convertible bond’s straight debt value? What is the implied value of the convertibility feature if the convertible bonds were sold at par?
b) Compute the year in which the bonds are expected to be converted (forced conversion).

c)What is the expected before-tax yield on th

e convertible bonds to the investors if the bonds

are sold at par? Compute the after-tax cost to Quantum if the bonds are sold at par.

4. Florida Enterprises is considering issuing a 10-year convertible bond that will be priced at

its $1000 par value. The bonds have an 8% annual coupon, and each bond can be converted into 20 shares of common stock. The stock currently sells at $40 a share, has an

expected dividend in the coming year of $5, and has an expected constant growth rate of 5%. Similar straight-debt issues yield 10%. The company will force conversion on the bonds as soon as (year-end) the conversion value exceeds the par value on the bonds. The firm is in the 40% marginal tax rate.

a) Compute the price of the straight bond component and the conversion value in Year 3.

b) When will conversion take place?

c) Compute the yield to the investors and the cost to the firm from the convertible bonds.

*MUST BE NO PLAIGARISM*

Imagine that you work for the maker of a leading brand of low-calorie, frozen microwavable food that estimates the following demand equation for its product using data from 26 supermarkets around the country for the month of April.

Option 1
Note: The following is a regression equation. Standard errors are in parentheses for the demand for widgets.
QD = – 5200 – 42P + 20PX + 5.2I + 0.20A + 0.25M
(2.002) (17.5) (6.2) (2.5) (0.09) (0.21)
R2 = 0.55 n = 26 F = 4.88

Your supervisor has asked you to compute the elasticities for each independent variable. Assume the following values for the independent variables:

Q = Quantity demanded of 3-pack units
P (in cents) = Price of the product = 500 cents per 3-pack unit
PX (in cents) = Price of leading competitor’s product = 600 cents per 3-pack unit
I (in dollars) = Per capita income of the standard metropolitan statistical area
(SMSA) in which the supermarkets are located = $5,500
A (in dollars) = Monthly advertising expenditures = $10,000
M = Number of microwave ovens sold in the SMSA in which the
supermarkets are located = 5,000

Write a four to six (4-6) page paper in which you:

  1. Compute the elasticities for each independent variable. Note: Write down all of your calculations.
  2. Determine the implications for each of the computed elasticities for the business in terms of short-term and long-term pricing strategies. Provide a rationale in which you cite your results.
  3. Recommend whether you believe that this firm should or should not cut its price to increase its market share. Provide support for your recommendation.
  4. Assume that all the factors affecting demand in this model remain the same, but that the price has changed. Further assume that the price changes are 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 cents.
    1. Plot the demand curve for the firm.
    2. Plot the corresponding supply curve on the same graph using the following MC / supply function Q = -7909.89 + 79.1P with the same prices.
    3. Determine the equilibrium price and quantity.
    4. Outline the significant factors that could cause changes in supply and demand for the low-calorie, frozen microwavable food. Determine the primary manner in which both the short-term and the long-term changes in market conditions could impact the demand for, and the supply, of the product.
  5. Indicate the crucial factors that could cause rightward shifts and leftward shifts of the demand and supply curves for the low-calorie, frozen microwavable food.
  6. Use at least three (3) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia does not qualify as an academic resource.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

The purpose of business is to make money , CPB assignment help Business Finance Assignment Help

Here are the details.

You will complete the sentence: “The purpose of business is to make money …” The way you will “complete” it is to do this:

Write a short essay expressing your philosophy of business gained in this course. As with any essay, decide on one main idea, and develop and support the single idea with details. You may want to pick one of the themes we studied as your main idea. Ensure that you pick an idea about which you are knowledgeable and passionate. Since this is an essay, write it in the structure of well-developed paragraphs, rather than bullet points. You should have introductory and summary paragraphs, as with any essay.

  1. One form of supporting details will be quotations from three authors studied during any part of the course. Provide APA format “in text” page citations, however, no separate works cited page is necessary. Naturally the quotations should very closely support your main idea about the purpose of business.
  2. Another form of supporting details is to relate personal observations, experiences, and stories. Your personal engagement in this paper is a good tactic for writing in a compelling fashion.
  3. Length will be about three double spaced pages – a lot longer means you haven’t stated your case succinctly; much shorter means you haven’t developed your main idea sufficiently.
  4. Consider the audience of your essay to be fellow college students who have not taken this course. Speak directly and personally to your audience (using the word “you”). Naturally, in speaking personally, you will want to use the word “I.”

To earn all possible points, write in a compelling, well-organized fashion, logically supporting the conviction of your beliefs with lively details, and follow the same practices of clear, crisp error-free writing we have used all semester.

Note: Picking a main idea that is too broad will not help you succeed, for you will not have sufficient length to develop it. The following idea is excessively broad: “I believe that, in addition to making money, businesses should provide jobs, support the environment, and promote justice throughout the world.”

men and women, english assignment help Humanities Assignment Help

ARTICLES ARE EASY AND SHORT //ESSAY MUST BE 2 PAGE LONG IT MUST INCLUDE AN INTRODUCTION THE THESIS 3 BODY PARAGRAPHS AND CONCLUSION MLA FORMAT!

You have read about and you should have considered in depth the expectations men and women have for a relationship in terms of the quality of that relationship and what that quality means in terms of how they feel. These notions are explored in the articles

“Understanding The Difference Between Men and Women” by Conner, Michael G. Psy.D and “Men and Women Often Expect Different Things When They Move In Together” by Bradford W.Wilcox that I provided for you to read.

Note: if you read the article from Deborah Tannen you may want to use that one too.

Once you select one of the discussion points to respond to, use the two articles- “Understanding The Difference Between Men and Women” by Conner, Michael G. Psy.D and “Men and Women Often Expect Different Things When They Move In Together” by Bradford W.Wilcox that I provided for you to read- to support the discussion and your exploration of the issue as stated in the discussion point you select.

What you are going to do in this essay is explore the distinct differences between men and women in terms of they how they communicate and how they perceive the relationship and the way they see that relationship and what is offers for them.

Select from the following discussion prompts to form the basis of your discussion. You might want to combine two of them or select particular points from two and blend them into one main discussion point. Make sure you use the discussion point to create a focused and specific thesis statement. When I read your thesis statement is should be completely obvious to me which discussion points you are using to create the thesis.

Here are the discussion prompts to select from. Only use one or if you wanted to you could combine elements of two.

A: Men and women are fundamentally different in terms of their physical, emotional, and psychological make up. Consider how these differences impact the way a relationship, starts, develops and ultimately flourishes or fails based on the premise that if the disparities between the way men and women see each other and interact with each other are not addressed and acknowledged from the outset. You can frame your discussion around the notion that there is a sense of inevitability of relationship failure exists if there is not a proactive approach to relationship management before the relationship even starts if you want to.

C: Consider how the differences in expectations of a relationship in terms of costs and benefits as the relationship begins and then the perception of what that relationship means once it is established differs to such a degree between the genders it makes it problematic for relationships to be sustained in either marriage or cohabitation or both. Consider how these factors may contribute to relationship failure, individual discontent, and infidelity.

You should utilize the story that you think is most applicable in the context of your discussion of the issues facing couples as they form and maintain relationships.

Obviously, the core of this issue of relationships is centered around the expectations of that relationship.

The articles will form the central support of your discussion around the whole dynamics of relationship perception and cross gender communication as those sources provide information that you can use to explore and discuss this issue from your perspective.

Pull from the articles to explore and expand upon your perceptions of the gender differences.

Note:

Author(s) and title(s). You only need both on the Works Cited, so in the paper itself you can

just reference the author’s last name.

Any pertinent background information.

Do not use the articles in the introduction-focus on the issue in the introduction.

Thesis- must state a position and topic-focus on the issue here.

Clear topic sentences.

Supporting details.

Quotes from the sources to support your position once you have clearly established your

position- – do not start sentences or paragraphs with quotes-integrate quotes

smoothly into your body paragraphs.

Avoid using quotes in the introduction or the conclusion.

Make sure you use correct parenthetical citation in the places where you use quotes.

Do not paraphrase-quoting is more effective.

Block quote long quotes.

Offer some explanation and discussion after quoting the work.

Use transitions and conjunctive adverbs so you can create complex sentences and

avoid writing short choppy sentences.

Remember: effective analysis will clearly illustrate relationships between your ideas.

Create transitional sentences between your body paragraphs.

Do not use, I, me, you, us or any personal pronouns- write in 3rd person.

Make sure you submit the paper to Blackboard in the DRAFT Midterm SafeAssignment

portal indicated.

Save a copy to your e mail or flash drive so you have a back up.

What is your opinion of this genre of Film and Theatre?, homework help Humanities Assignment Help

150 words minimum

-1st Jeffrey Iacob

What is your opinion of this genre of Film and Theatre?

Personally, I typically watch fiction, historical, and sometimes documentary movies. I also believe that Urban Drama is one kind of my favorite type of Movie and Theatre, because I like to learn what it is to live in a different life style than our normal lives. My favorite urban drama film would be Four Brothers directed by John Singleton in 2005.

What do you believe are some of the major themes or issues that this genre deals with?

I believe that most of the Urban Drama films deal with poverty, crime, family, drug abuse, gangs, and social/economic immobility. Most of these films regularly will tell a story starting from where and how these characters live in their daily lives and experience all sort of issues leading them into drug abuse, gangs, and crime.

Would you ever go to a play like Our Lady of 121st Street? Why or why not?

In a case where I get a possibility, I want to see a play like Our Lady of 121st Street, because the play portrays several essential forms of Urban Drama characters.

Would you seek out another Urban Drama film in the future. Why or why not?

Yes, I would like to seek out another Urban Film because these films are growing in popularity and shows a fitting example of how people live their daily lives in the Urban lifestyle.

-2nd Ulises Espinoza

I think that this genre of Theater is certainly important. It tells the story of individuals who come from an urban background. These type of stories need to be told and played out because it gives a voice to the minorities and the normally forgotten in society. People need to know their stories, their struggles, so that they are aware that these people exist and should not be pushed aside.

I think that the major themes this genre deals with is reality, and survival.I think that the directors try to encapsulate these people’s lives that usually involve harsh and trouble filled environments that are hard to get away from. In some cases even when they get away, the trouble follows them. These films illustrate the tough livelihood of characters as they try deal with the violence that surrounds them.

I definitely would go to a play like Our Lady of 121st Street, because I think its interesting to witness this type of theater. From what I saw in the class, I thought that the play was very witty and humorous despite its theme which I thought was great.

I would seek out another Urban Drama film because I think that these types of film are interesting. They tell a different story and it has realistic values that not many films have today. These films are very direct with their message and contain a lot of truths about the world which I appreciate.

Vaccines for Children, management assignment help Business Finance Assignment Help

Minimum 150 words per post. Learners must make at least two posts by 11:59 PM on Sundays that directly respond to other posts.

1. This post should be addressed to Cindy Hurt

Having children comes with different kinds of responsibilities. One thing parents have to do is get their children vaccinated. There are still many parents that refuse to let their children have shots. Meanwhile, the number of diseases are rising because of children not vaccinated. I personally feel like they should be made to get the immunizations. Innocent lives are being put at risk. I hear the excuse that autism is caused by vaccines. According to Kirkland (2012), millions of federal dollars were spent on research to see if there was a link between shots and autism. Scientist seemed convinced there was not a connection between the two. However, to this day some people still use that as an excuse not to get them.

Children should have the immunizations before they go to school or college. People hide behind religious exemptions to keep from getting shots. I feel like it is overused and there should be no exemption. I used to be in charge with keeping up with immunizations for a university, and the religious exemption came into play a lot. Sometimes I felt like they just did not want to do it. According to Grey (2014), people are still arguing over whether the first amendment should be used to protect student’s religious rights on exemptions. I can see where people argue over religion in schools, but I do not understand how people want to get out of shots and insurance by taking a religious exemption.

Influenza shots are not mandatory at this point, but I feel like they could be in the future. According to Kamradt-Scott (2012), influenza has been around for centuries and is not going anywhere. It does not matter how old a person is. They can still be infected. Hospitals and doctor’s offices make it mandatory for there employees. Doctors highly suggest their patients get them.

2. This post should be addressed to Michael Brewer:

We as parents have human rights to exercise freedom of conscience and informed consent to medical risks taking on our minor children, and children do have the civil right to school education. There are risks in vaccines that are being borne equally by all, the laws with vaccines are without a flexible medical, religious and conscientious belief exemptions are oppressive, inhumane and a violation of one’s civil and human rights.

As research has shown, vaccines are basically pharmaceutical products that can carry a risk of injury or death. In some children there are genetic, biological and environmental high risks factors that make some more susceptible to vaccine harm, this was acknowledged by Congress in 1986, in the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act to shield manufacturers from a civil liability. There is no way for the parent, or the doctors to know who will be injured due to the long standing gaps in science today.

Freedom of Speech and Press,in the Constitution gives anyone the right to exercise freedom of conscience and religious beliefs, this even includes rather to take a vaccine or not because of the medical risks or injuries it could cause to the person, this has been a centerpiece of the ethical practice of modern medicine.

In 1905 the Supreme Court affirmed the constitutional authority of the state legislatures to require smallpox vaccination during “an epidemic of disease,” the Court sent out a warning against that vaccine to mandate it should not go beyond “what was reasonably required for the safety of the public” and would lead to an “injustice, oppression or absurd consequence” or be “cruel and inhuman to the last degree.”

A century later, after Supreme Court had done there thing, the mandate for one dose of smallpox vaccine has been replaced by a federal directive that children get 69 doses of 16 vaccines on the day of birth, with 49 dosed of 14 vaccine will be given by the time the child is 6 years old.State legislatures have mandated multiple doses of at least 10 of these vaccines for children, but many of them are for diseases that may or may not have a high complication and mortality rate like smallpox, not wide spread, or are not transmitted in a public setting.

New vaccines are being developed and mandated every day.Vaccine mandates are still lacking on informed consent protections that should be repealed.
