The attacks on the twin towers of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001 were a national tragedy and an historic event that shaped the nation and the world for years thereafter. September 11 is also one of those days that is etched in the memories of everyone who was alive at the time. For many, this event is both historical and deeply personal.
- For this optional extra credit opportunity, listen to President Bush’s speech to America and the world! What is this speech about and what are Bush’s main points? Does he convey his points effectively? What kind of rhetoric does he use to convince his listeners? How does President Bush reassure his public?
