1.I had a question about turn taking. When we look at examples of turn taking we normally look at clips that are talking over someone or being rude to one another. Do you think that this is the most common type of having turn taking be problematic in our society?

2.I just finished the Assgiment, Talking Contest, today because of the jet lag. I made a point of calling my mother to complete the Talking Contest. Whenever I interrupt her when she is about to speak, she stops and lets me speak first. Sometimes I don’t even know if my mother understands what I am saying. If it wasn’t for my mom, I would have thought it was offensive, but my mom always let me talk first, and maybe she was used to it

3.What is the difference between a turn and a TCU?

4.With adjacency pairs can they overlap? Because I’m thinking they cant with having someone asking a question most times you wait for the question to be delivered then answer it.

5.I just want to make sure I understand the meaning of TCUs. It is really focused on action like how the grammar is said in response to a question or responding to someone? How would you point it out in a transcript versus the Adjacency Pairs? I am just a little lost between the 2 when finding them in transcripts. I get it with the Adjacency Pairs but more so of the TCUs is where I am lost.

6.The talking contest was certainly an interesting and relatively easy test to conduct. When my mom first got home from work I asked her about any fourth of July plans to initiate a conversation. Every once in a while I’d rudely interrupt her sentences and ask about something slightly different. Most of the time she would finish what she was saying before jumping into the next question. It was obvious by the way she looked at me that she knew I was talking and acting differently. One time when I “cut her off” she actually completely lost her train of thought and couldn’t remember how to finish her statement. This shows why it’s important to take turns while communicating.

Coach combo. Diet analysis Health Medical Assignment Help

Athletic Director: Wow! Our teams did terrific last week! I know much of their success can be attributed to your food recommendations! Thanks so much! Now we need to work on modifying their daily food intake, so they are ready every day to do their best at practice and competitions. What changes should they make to their diet? Remember, you analyzed their current diet for Assignment 1. This week, let’s improve that diet. I’ll let each coach explain what they need.

Coach Speedy: My runners are not consistently ready to meet the challenge of every practice and competition. I think they need to eat the right balance of the five foods groups daily, and those foods need to be spaced appropriately before, and after practice, so they come to practice and competitions ready to go. We practice at four in the afternoon for 1 1/2 hours. The conference championship is in two weeks.

Coach Power: We have our final competition in four weeks. I need to push my lifters without overdoing it. What changes do they need to make to their diet? We practice for 1 ½ hour every morning starting at 7 am.

Coach Combo: We play every week, and my team is getting beat up and worn down. Good news! We have made it to the conference playoff. The team is pumped up, but we will be playing a tough team. If we win this, we can go to a bowl game. We have two weeks to replenish our body and get ready for the big game. I’m going to pull out all the stops. What should we eat? We lift weights at 6 am and then practice on the field every afternoon at 3 pm for 2 hours.

Athletic Director: Okay, now you have heard from the coaches. Time to start making your recommendations. I know this will help each of the teams prepare for their final competitions. For this assignment, you will modify one of the team’s diets from Assignment 1. If your name last name starts with the A-H, then you will work with Coach Combo and make recommendations for his football team. If your last name begins with I-P, then you will evaluate a sample diet from Coach Speedy’s Cross Country team. Finally, if your last name starts with the letter Q through Z, you will assist Coach Power and his weight lifters.

You need to modify your team’s diet, so it meets the following recommendations. Use Cronometer to make the modifications. You can use the same profile you used for the first assignment, just add new days. Also, you will be adding and deleting foods to the diet. Each diet consists of three days and the average for the three days should meet the following recommendations.

  • Calorie intake is within 250 calories of the calorie level recommended by the diet analysis program. Be sure you selected the appropriate activity.
  • All nutrients are >100% (Please note this is >100% and not equal to 100%). Be sure not to exceed the upper limit for a nutrient.
  • The source of calories from carbohydrates is >55%, and the source of calories from fat is <25%.

For the team you are helping, enter the following profile information into the Cronometer diet analysis program.

  • Coach Speedy and her cross country team: Plan between 2500-3000 kcal/day for a female athlete, 20 yrs old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 135 lbs, maintain current weight, the activity level is active
  • Coach Power and his weight lifting team: Plan between 3500-4000 kcal/day for a male athlete, 21 yrs old, 6 feet tall, 180 lbs, maintain current weight, the activity level is active
  • Coach Combo: Plan between 3500-4000 kcal/day for a male athlete, 19 yrs old, 6 feet tall, 200 lbs, maintain current weight, the activity level is active

In this class, you learned the time you eat relative to working out is just as important as the foods you eat. When should the athlete eat the foods you recommend? How many hours before and after practice? Are there certain types of foods they should eat? What about fluid intake? Be sure to space out your food selections, so they meet the guidelines you learned in class.

Remember, variety and moderation are the keys to a healthy, well-balanced diet so the same foods should not be eaten every day. Make sure your diet changes are different every day.

When your diet plan meets the above objectives, screenshot your analysis or print it to a pdf. You must submit this in the assignment area. Also, I need you to write a report, so my coaches will know what changes you made to their athlete’s diet. Use Word to write your report. It should include the following:

  • List of meal or snack time and foods to be eaten at that time. (Be sure to space out your food selections, so they meet the guidelines you learned in class.)
  • Time when the athlete is working out
  • What foods did you add to their diet?
  • What foods did you remove from their diet?
  • What did you do about their fluid intake?

Now submit your Word file and diet analysis reports

Effects of Expectation and Caffeine on Arousal, Well-Being,
and Reaction Time (point: Expectation doesn’t effect reaction time)

Absorption and Subjective Effects of Caffeine from Coffee, Cola and Capsules (point: Peak caffeine level time)

Feel free to add more, and ask me question.

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of caffeine on reaction time. Eight college students performed 10 trials of a simple color change reaction time test. Then four of the participants ingested more than 65 mg of caffeine from drinks, and the other four participants had non-caffeine drinks. The participants took another 10 trials of color change reaction test again 30-45 minutes after drinking caffeine or non-caffeine drinks. No difference between mean pre-test reaction time for caffeine (343.5 ms) and non-caffeine (343 ms). Mean post-test caffeine (317.75 ms) reaction time decrease more than non-caffeine post-test (337 ms). Two-way ANOVA with repetition was used to compare condition factors (caffeine vs. non-caffeine) and practice (pre-test vs. post-test). The result showed there were no main effect of caffeine condition or practice, apparent interaction between caffeine and practice was not significant (F(1,12) = .07, ns (p=.80)). In summary, the reaction time do not appear to be influenced by caffeine vs. non-caffeine.

Persuasive Speech on WHY WE SHOULD STOP ANIMAL TESTING Humanities Assignment Help

Persuasive Speech Guidelines

The format for this speech will be more like a roundtable discussion instead of a formal presentation. There is no PowerPoint requirement and the outline will be less involved than the informative speech outline (example to follow). You will speak for four to five minutes, followed by a one to two-minute question and answer session. When it is your turn to present, you will enable your camera and microphone and the floor will be yours.

Always keep the pillars of persuasion in mind: ethos, pathos, logos. Is your source credible? What is their motivation for their research/argument? Is the work/research supported by other well-informed sources? Regarding your emotional appeals, are they valid? Do not rely solely on negative pathos; too much doom and gloom can be counterproductive. When it comes to logical appeals, research including data, statistics and facts certainly qualify, but that is not the end of logos. Does the idea or argument make sense from the audience’s point of view? Keep in mind that your POV may differ from the POV of your audience (in favor, opposed, neutral or apathetic).

It is critical to research prevailing counterarguments against your position; you should research the other side as well as your own. You need three sources for this presentation, no more than five. Be very careful of source bias: FOX, MSNBC, CNN, Brietbart, HuffPost, etc. I am not suggesting you must avoid (might not be a bad idea though) these ‘sources,’ but you must view all content through the lens of their potential bias. I strongly suggest sticking with academic, non-partisan source material; we will discuss this during class.

Your grade will be determined through three equal facets: delivery (eye contact/tone), strength/validity of sources and application of persuasive principles.

tax computation Business Finance Assignment Help

The Ukrainian tax system in the late 1990s had several components. The per- sonal income tax (calculated and paid on a monthly basis) had these brackets:

Zero if income was below one NTM 10% for income from 1 NTM 1 1 KBV to 5 NTM 20% for income from 5 NTM 1 1 KBV to 10 NTM, plus the tax on 5 NTM 30% for income from 10 NTM 1 1 KBV to 15 NTM, plus the tax on 10 NTM 40% for income from 15 NTM 1 1 KBV to 25 NTM, plus the tax on 15 NTM 50% for income above 25 NTM, plus the tax on 25 NTM KBV, karbovantsi; NTM, nontaxed minimum. The NTM was 1,400,000

KBV (one U.S. dollar was worth about 180,000 Ukrainian KBV). In September 1995, the average monthly salary was 9 million KBV.

Use of the NTM provides an easy way of adjusting the entire tax structure for the impact of inflation. Employers paid payroll taxes at these rates: 37 percent to the social insur- ance fund, 12 percent to the Chernobyl fund, and 2 percent to the employment fund. Employees also paid 1 percent to the employment fund.

  • Create a tax rate schedule for the Ukraine personal income tax.
  • Create a tax table for incomes from 9,100,000 KBV to 9,100,200 KBV.
  • Analysts calculate the tax wedge—defined to be the difference between the amount that the employer must pay to hire an employee and the amount that the employee receives net of all taxes as a percentage of the employee’s net—in examining the nature of tax systems. Compute the total tax wedge for a worker at the average monthly salary, at twice the average, and at five times the average.
  • Compute the average effective tax rate and the marginal tax rate for a worker at the three salary levels from part c.
  • Comment on the likely incentive effects of this tax structure.

Kristi was late for work on her first day. Wanting to set a good impression, she felt she had to find a way to make it to the office on time. As she is walking down the street, she saw a bicycle on Mariah’s lawn. Mariah owed Kristi $80 but had never paid her. Kristi decided if she were to ride the bike to work, she may not be that late. Plus, Kristi figured the bike was worth about what Mariah owed her and it would only be fair for her to borrow the bike. Kristi walked onto Mariah’s lawn, picked up the bike, and rode it to work.
Kristi made it to work with just a minute to spare. She jumped off the bike and ran into the office building. However, in jumping off the bike, she also flung it down the sidewalk. Jolie, who was not late to work but was outside enjoying a cigarette, saw the bike come flying at her. Jolie tried to move out of the way but was hit in the leg by the bicycle. The result of the incident was a broken leg for Jolie.
As Kristi ran into work, she slipped and fell on a puddle of water. Brittany, the office janitor had just mopped the floor. However, she failed to put down a wet floor sign to warn those entering the building. As a result of the fall, Kristi suffered a sprained ankle.
