Student’s Response: According to the textbook, Mestizo music is a blend of European, Native American, and African American. Mestizo musical life features costumed dances. In these Mestizo ensembles, costumes during performances, were inspired by the Christian missionaries, to attract indigenous peoples to Christianity. The festivals have taken place in Mexico all the way to Chile. The costumes that are featured in these ensembles include old men, soldiers, devils, monsters, and other supernatural beings, figures from Biblical stories, animals, Spaniards, and Africans. In these ensembles, instruments often varied based on their origins, but feature both indigenous and European instruments. The instruments used in Mestizo music usually were drums and flutes. In the Andean town of Paucartambo, European instruments such as the harp, guitar and mandolin instruments, such as the bandurria, are blended with the indigenous instruments like the flute and drums. Other instruments that are also of European descent, such as the violin or accordion, are combined with indigenous flutes, such as the Kena. New instruments include the diatonic harp, the vihuela, and the guitarron. These new instruments have been created from this fusion of cultures and are sourced from European guitars.

• Immigrants have the right to be allowed in our country because this country was built by immigrants. People are coming here to look for a better life and therefore, as a wealthy country we are obligated to provide them with this opportunity.
• Immigrants positively benefit US economy. Immigrants are employers, employees and consumers. This means that they create jobs, pay taxes and spend their money on goods and services. From utilitarian perspective not allowing such an advantage would be a harm to the benefit of American people.

This is to explain that make a stand that we are obligated to allow immigrants in our country. It needs to use Utilitarian theory in explaining those arguments.
