1) What is the difference between exempt and nonexempt jobs?
The Fair Labor Standards Act is legislature that details job pay and procedures. It includes things such as minimum wage, overtime pay, maximum hours, child labor laws, equal pay, etc. It was created to ensure employees are paid fairly and equally for almost all occupations. Under the law there are however exempt and nonexempt jobs. Certain jobs do not fall under the protection of the FLSA legislature. These are considered exempt jobs. They include professions like lawyers, doctors, teachers, and pharmacists among others. Most professionals are exempt from the minimum wage and overtime requirements. Other employees who fall under the protection of the FLSA legislature are considered nonexempt. They include occupations like paralegals, bookkeepers, clerical workers, and clerks. Nonexempt employees usually have to make under a specified amount of money.

2) What is the difference between exempt and nonexempt jobs?
There are many differences that set exempt and nonexempt jobs apart. But first let us start by defining what exempt and nonexempt jobs are. Non-exempt and exempt are terms established under the fair labor standards act better known as FLSA. FLSA is a federal law that creates and implement minimum-wage, monitor and defines procedure related to overtime pay requirements for employees, and it also provides policy and procedure on rules for equal pay and child labor laws. “Specific categories of employees are exempt from the FLSA or certain provisions of the act and particularly from the act’s overtime provisions (Dessler, G. (2017).” Things like your salary, responsibilities, task, or job skill, and even title plays a part in whether you are an exempt or nonexempt employee. “Generally, executives and professional employees like architects are generally exempt from the minimum wage in overtime requirements of the exempt employee act (Dessler, G. (2017).” A non-exempt employee does not necessarily have a professional or executive title, their task and responsibilities are also a lot less stringent than those of exempt status, and overtime pay provisions are covered under the FLSA act. So, when thanking about or comparing nonexempt employees to exempt employees keep in mind that exit exempt employees carries more responsibility in terms of job title and position then non-exempt employees. “Administrative exemption is designed for high-level employees whose main focus is to keep the business running. Some examples of administrative functions whose high-level employees may typically be exempt include labor relations and personnel human resources employees, payroll and finance including budgeting and benefits management, records maintenance, accounting, and tax, marketing and advertising, direct sales, quality control, public relations including shareholder investment relations and government relations, legal and regulatory compliance in some computer related jobs such as network, Internet and database administration (Dessler, G. (2017).” Non-exempt employees play more of a supportive role to the exempt roles.

PHI 2604 Miami Dade College Common Occurrences in Straw Man Fallacy Essay Humanities Assignment Help
I’m working on a ethnic studies discussion question and need guidance to help me understand better.
Topics for your Essay, Choose one
Topic A: You try to live strictly by the moral rules contained in your religion’s moral code. The two most important rules are “Be merciful” (don’t give people what they deserve) and “Be just” (give people exactly what they deserve). Now suppose a man is arrested for stealing food from your house, and the police leave it up to you whether he should be prosecuted for his crime or set free. Should you be merciful and set him free, or be just and make sure he is appropriately punished? How do you resolve this conflict of rules? Can your moral code resolve it? To what moral principles or theories do you appeal?
Topic B: Why do you think people are tempted to use the straw man fallacy in disagreements on moral issues? How do you feel when someone uses this fallacy against you? To demonstrate your understanding and to teach the idea to the rest of the class, provide a relevant real-life example of the logical mistake. (You MAY use an outside source to help you present your example; be sure to summarize or paraphrase, cite, and use announcing verbs.) Choose carefully—consider whether your example does a good job of illustrating a Straw Man. Compare it to similar fallacies, and show why your example is a Straw Man rather than another fallacy like an Appeal to the Person. Your discussion of your example should be detailed so that readers can evaluate the fallacy. Argue the case for why your example is an example of Straw Man.

Grand Canyon University Observation and Interview Method Discussion Humanities Assignment Help
Observation and Interview
Authentic assessment is the process of assessing what children know and can do in their most natural environments. Because science focuses heavily on processes, the presence of certain indicators helps teachers gauge students’ mastery of scientific processes (i.e., a student that selects a measuring cup to determine how much water is in a particular container has indicated that he or she is able to perform one aspect of the measuring process).
For this observe and interview your mentor teacher to develop a better understanding of various assessment techniques.
With your 2-3 year old teacher, plan to observe at least two hands-on science lessons, one implemented by your mentor teacher and one by another teacher. Before observing the lessons, ask if you may review the following:
- The lesson plan, including the content standards, objectives, and assessment methods outlined for each lesson
- Any pre-assessment data collected and used to inform the observed lessons
After the observations, discuss with your mentor teacher the use of authentic assessments and the data gathered from them, including pre-assessments, formal and informal formative assessments, and summative assessments, and how he or she uses that data to plan, modify, or differentiate instruction.
In 250-500 words, summarize your observations and interview, focusing on authentic assessment and how the data from those assessments were used to plan, modify, or differentiate instruction. Discuss how you plan to apply this to your future professional practice.

Assessment Alignment and Pre-Assessment |
Pre-assessments provide valuable information on what students know and guide planning. Before beginning a new unit or teaching a new concept, educators can give a pre-assessment to gauge where their students are and plan how and what to teach.
Using the grade level 2 and 3 years old of your f class, select two science standards. Each standard should be from a different science strand for that grade level. For each of the standards, write 100-250 words addressing the following:
- Standard and aligned objectives
- Design a developmentally appropriate, authentic pre-assessment that aligns with the standard. You may incorporate activities your mentor teacher demonstrated during the observed lesson or shared during the interview that could be used to assess the learning objectives and science standards selected.
- Scoring criteria for measuring student performance on pre-assessment (rubric, check-list, table, etc.)
- Explain how this pre-assessment data could be used to modify and differentiate instruction for all students.

Bartlesville High School The Surrender of Personal Liberty Essay Humanities Assignment Help
I’m working on a english project and need support to help me understand better.
Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 continues to be celebrated and controversial for its critique of Western civilization. For many, it stands as a warning against the surrender of personal liberty and critical thought. Its fans believe that elements of the narrative can already be found in many layers of our culture. For others, the novel is an unwarranted dark and pessimistic forecast. Its detractors dismiss the book as mere science fiction entertainment that has no bearing on reality. Write a 5-6 page essay that examines one of the themes of Fahrenheit 451 and take a stand on whether or not you believe this theme is relevant in twenty-first century society.
- Your essay must begin with an introduction that introduces the subject, a theme of the novel and its current relevance, and catches the reader’s interest.
- The last sentence of the introduction must be the thesis or claim of the essay. It should clearly state whether Fahrenheit 451 is relevant today or not.
- In addition, you must have at least six body paragraphs that develop your essay. Each body paragraph must begin with a clear topic sentence that specifically states the topic and focus of the paragraph; each topic sentence must make a claim on the relevance or irrelevance of the novel.
-
- A good supporting paragraph must contain seven to thirteen sentences, so you will need to cite evidence from the novel and from our world. You will then need to explain why the evidence supports the claims you are making.
-
- For your support evidence, you should use recent magazine or newspaper articles or books of non-fiction as sources to support your claims on the relevance of the messages in Fahrenheit 451. Fahrenheit 451 can serve as ONE of your sources but you must have FIVE other sources too. Use the electronic databases for your sources as much as possible because they have already been vetted. If you use an internet source, you will need to verify that the source is credible.
-
- You must also incorporate specific examples from the novel into your own writing to support your claims of theme.
-
- Provide clear attributions and complete and accurate citations for all outside sources (including the novel) used in your essay. The majority of the sources you use should be incorporated into your writing in the form of summary and paraphrase. No more than 10 percent of your essay can include quotations.
4. Finally, end your essay with a concluding paragraph that brings the essay to an effective close.
This is a formal academic essay so please avoid the following errors:
- Contractions (can’t, won’t, shouldn’t, etc.)
- First person point of view (I, us, we, our, my, etc.)
- Second person point of view (you, yours, yourself, etc.)
- Clichéd expressions
- Generalizations
Because you are using research in this paper, your essay will need to include in text citations, as well as a properly formatted Works Cited page (this page does not count towards your page length). The margins, heading, pagination (etc.) should be in MLA format.
