Statistical Error: Horn/Halo Effect
Definition: The tendency to allow one’s judgment of another person to be unduly influenced by an unfavorable (horns) or favorable (halo) first impression.
1. Provide a Human Resource decision that has to be made as an example to the horn/halo effect.
2. Errors typically occur because the data used to make the decision is flawed in some way. What flawed data could lead to the error for this decision?
3. Think about what data could be used instead (to avoid the error: horn/halo effect?
4. What parameter or statistic will you use to represent the dataset?
5. How could this help avoid the error?
Statistical Error: Central tendency
Definition: The tendency of managers to give all employees average ratings. This reduces the variance in the data to the point where it becomes useless.
1. Provide a Human Resource decision that has to be made as an example to the central tendency effect.
2. Errors typically occur because the data used to make the decision is flawed in some way. What flawed data could lead to the error for this decision?
3. Think about what data could be used instead (to avoid central tendency)?
4. What parameter or statistic will you use to represent the dataset?
5. How could this help avoid the error?
Criteria:
- A decision is named. An actual decision must be named in the example.
- The decision is relevant to HR. The decision should be relevant to one of the functions of HR (recruiting, selection, performance management, learning & development, compensation, safety, laws & regulations, etc.) or the overall HR strategy.
- The flawed data would lead to the error. The ‘flawed’ data describe should reasonably lead to the error covered this week.
- The alternate data would minimize the error. The alternate data (data to be used instead) is distinct from the flawed data and directly addresses the error.
- The parameter or statistic is appropriate to the data. A parameter or statistic is what will be used to represent the full dataset and is based on the distribution of the data. Examples include weighted scores, means, or modes. The parameter chosen should reasonably represent the data.
- Explanation of avoiding error. The explanation of how using different data could help avoid the error should be clear and accurate

Media 2-3 page paper Writing Assignment Help
This paper asks you to connect mediated communication to other interpersonal concepts to understand how technology affects how we communicate and vice versa.
Think about what you’ve learned about mediated communication and how it relates to culture, perception, or any of the other concepts covered in class (or that will be covered, if you’re feeling adventurous). For instance, what impact does mediated communication have on managing conflict? Or how can media literacy affect your self-perception? Please do not answer those questions directly; they are provided as examples only.
In fact, in your paper, you are going to focus on one of the articles listed under “Articles for Paper” in the Unit 5 Readings & Resources.
In 2-3 pages, address the following:
1. Briefly summarize the article you chose.
2. Discuss how it relates to the mediated communication, social media, and media literacy concepts presented in the text and other readings.
3. Discuss which other interpersonal concepts are present in the article. For instance, if you chose an article about breaking up via text (there isn’t one there, but let’s say there was), you might look at the nonverbal chapter and talk about how breaking up via text does not allow for the same nonverbal cues. You could write about how emoji stand in – for better or worse – for those nonverbals.
4. Find another similar example and discuss briefly how the two examples are related.
You must include a reference page with this paper, formatted in APA style (google if you need help). In total, you will need AT LEAST 4 sources:
- the source to support C
- the source to support D
- textbook or course reading 1
- textbook or course reading 2
THIS ASSIGNMENT MUST FOLLOW THIS FORMAT:
- 2-3 full pages in length (can be longer, but please do not make it much longer)
- saved as any of the following file types: .doc, .docx, .pdf, or .gdoc (If you are unable to save as one of these, please notify me BEFORE the paper is due)
- double-spaced
- Times New Roman
- 12 point, black font
- No cover page
- reference page does not count toward page count

Review the included ISACA built risk case. You will need to complete the tasks identified in the later part of these slides labeled To Do. Re-evaluate the probability and risk level for all of the rows in table 2. When you make your decision on the new probability rating, you will need to justify this with one to two articles. When you identify the new risk level, you will need to identify two to three articles as examples or sources to justify the changes. Don’t just move it up or down, use current news and trends with similar companies to justify why you moved or even kept it the same. For each item, run a Quantitative or Qualitative risk analysis for a proposed mitigation. In other words, find a fix for each item and put a price tag with it. Decide what items are in budget and make your choice. You will add three new columns to table 2, one will be a proposed mitigation plan with budget and risk level from the FAIR methodology, and the second column will be if your risk decision (accept, mitigate, transfer, avoid). Submit the completed spreadsheet to the submission item in this week. You will also need to answer the 10 discussion questions at the end of the slides and submit those with your spreadsheet, either as a second page with answers in the cells or as separate document.
I would need the whole documentation in APA.

the term project subject needs to be Assume: each artist may paint many painting, and each painting is painted by a single artist. Computer Science Assignment Help
0) Was the Term Project topic approved Yes or No (minimum 15% deduction, if not approved)
0) (10%) writing style, organization of submission, clarity, APA usage
1) (5%) Term Paper Abstract (include the purpose of this “database”, explain one question – query – you expect the database to be able to process – the query MUST require the use of information from more than one entity)
2) (5%) Who will use, and who will administrator the database.
3) (10%) Explain the design method / approach you followed – refer to design methods in our text.
4) (15%) Describe the initial entities (tables), and attributes (fields). For each field: describe what the contents of each field represents, the type of field, and any constraints that you would like to see applied. Identify and describe the primary key for each table.
5) (15%) Using the functional notation shown on page 413 Example 14.5, include a functional dependency analysis, ensure all fields in the database are included (at least once). Explain one row of the functional notation using plain English, and fields from your project to demonstrate your understanding. SEE NOTE1
6) (10%) Using the table names and rows from each table, explain the one-to-many or the many-to-many relationship(s) included in your design. SEE NOTE3
7) Design (it is possible that the same table or set of tables are in 1NF, 2NF, and 3NF; or 2NF and 3NF – in which case you need to repeat the tables for each normal form and explain why they meet that definition)
a) (10%) Using table notation – submit a complete set of 1NF tables (this may be one or more tables), include the first normal form definition from the Connolly text, or the Terms and Techniques Forum as a basis to explain why the tables are in 1NF. Additionally, include a plain English explanation – using fields in your tables – to explain this in your own words. You need to demonstrate an understanding of the definition, and how it applies to your project. Once your tables are in first normal form proceed to the next step. SEE NOTE2 below:
b) (10%) Using table notation – submit a complete set of 2NF tables, include the second normal form definition from the Connolly text, or the Terms and Techniques Forum as a basis to explain why the tables are in 2NF. Additionally, include a plain English explanation – using fields in your tables – to explain this in your own words. You need to demonstrate an understanding of the definition, and how it applies to your project.
c) (10%) Using table notation – submit a complete set of 3NF tables, include the third normal form definition from the Connolly text, or the Terms and Techniques Forum as a basis to explain why the tables are in 3NF. Additionally, include a plain English explanation – using fields in your tables – to explain this in your own words.
Submit a Word compatible document. Name your document Last Name_TermProject (i.e. Smith_TermProject).
Contact the instructor with any questions.
NOTE1: Generic functional notation examples:
Field1 -> Field2
Field1 -> Field2, Field3
Field4, Field5 -> Field6
NOTE2: You can find an example of table notation on page 111 immediately under 4.2.6 label which shows the relational schema for part of the Dream Home database.
The basic table notation structure is: Table-name (field, field1, field2…)
DO NOT INCLUDE SPREADSHEET FIGURES
NOTE3: Review the Chapter 12 Study Aid document, as well as the Functional Dependency, Table Relationships, and the Parts and Suppliers examples in the Terms and Concepts Forum – if you need to refresh your knowledge base.
HINT: review your tables – for this exercise, 2 tables should not have the same primary key “and” keep in mind that tables will need to be linked (to satisfy the one-to-many or many-to-many relationship requirement), if we start with a single unnormalized or 1NF table – the normalization process ensures the needed links are included – often we start with more than one table, and while that is OK – we need to ensure tables are properly linked (sometimes using foreign keys, and sometimes using a junction table)
part two:
You designed a database in your Term Project. Now implement the 3NF tables in MS Access, including the relationships – ensure you use the same Table and Field names as your design, set the primary keys, and set the field types as described in your term project.
Here are the detailed requirements:
1) Create a “NEW” MS Access Database that matches your 3NF submission – ensure it properly reflects the 3NF Tables, Primary Keys, Fields, Foreign Keys, and relationship(s) that were designed
2) Populate the fields of each table in the database with at least 4 data sets (4 rows)
3) Create 1 Query (use the question proposed in the Term Project), it must use at least 2 tables and the relationship identified described in the design (if more than one relationship was submitted, then any one-to-many or many-to-many relationship would be acceptable)
4) Create 1 Report (you may choose the content)

NOTE1: Generic functional notation examples:
Field1 -> Field2
Field1 -> Field2, Field3
Field4, Field5 -> Field6

Chapter 8: Assignment Business Finance Assignment Help
You’re going to interview for management position with Ultra-Frame, a wooden picture frame manufacturer that sells hundreds of thousands of frames every year. As background for your interview, indicate which of the following are true and which are false.
SelectTrueFalse Operations management covers all the activities required to operate the distribution of goods and services.
SelectTrueFalse Companies like this frame manufacturer are reshoring because of significant quality issues and to save on shipping costs.
SelectTrueFalse The U.S. manufacturing workforce has remained steady during the past 30 years as a result of strong consumer demand.
SelectTrueFalse Planning for production takes place both before anything is produced and during the production process.
In preparation for the interview with Ultra-Frame, you’ve researched its production process. Using the drop down menu, label the following pieces of information in the order in which they would take place during the conversion process. The conversion process is as follows:
- Inputs
- Plan
- Design
- Execute
- Evaluate
- Improve
- Redesign
- Outputs
Select1 Inputs2 Plan3 Design4 Execute5 Evaluate6 Improve7 Redesign8 Outputs Every year, Ultra-Frame ships 500,000 picture frames from its factory to retailers.

Although you’re interviewing with Ultra-Frame, you’re also applying for a management job at Southwest Airlines, which flies more than 100 million passengers every year. Use the drop down menu to fill in the blank to complete each of these statements comparing Southwest and Ultra-Frame. Services such as those delivered by Southwest Airlines are Selecttangibleintangible and therefore it’s more difficult to evaluate customer satisfaction with the firm’s air travel compared with the picture frames produced by Ultra-Frame. Southwest Airlines can’t store its services, because they are Selectconsumedconverted immediately. In contrast, Ultra-frame can store its picture frames after production. Customers of Southwest Airlines are much Selectmoreless involved in obtaining the service they want or need, compared with Ultra-Frame’s manufactured goods. To be successful as a service business, Southwest Airlines follows Selectmany of the samemany different activities in the conversion process, compared with a manufacturing business like Ultra-Frame.
You’ve taken the job at Ultra-Frame, where you will be part of the team working on new products. Use the drop down menu to match each of the following job responsibilities with the phrase that best describes it.
