Q1 Price Discrimination

A small school has 100 students. You have been commissioned school photographer. From experience, you know that parents’ demand for copies of each child’s photograph is as given in the table below. Your fixed costs (studio rent, depreciation and various overheads) amount to $500 per week. Your variable costs (chemicals, films etc.) work out to a constant average variable cost of $1.50 per copy.

Suppose that you want to charge a uniform price per copy (i.e. be a single price monopoly).

How much will you charge to maximise your profit? How many copies will you sell?

What is your total revenue?

What is your profit during the week?

How much is the parents’ consumer surplus?

Suppose that you decide to practice perfect price discrimination. This is feasible as your product has no value to people other than the original buyer.

What is your profit maximising number of copies per child?

How much will you charge for the first copy? The second copy? Each successive copy?

What is your total revenue?

What is your profit for the week?

How much is the parents’ consumer surplus

Q2 Single-price Monopoly

Danny’s Donut is a single-price monopoly. The table (below) shows the market demand for Danny’s donuts.

Calculate the marginal revenue schedule.

Suppose the marginal cost of donut is $1. Determine the profit-maximising output and price.

Given the fixed cost at $1.8, calculate Danny’s profit.

Does Danny’s Donut use resources efficiently? Explain your answer.

Q3 Perfect Competition vs Monopoly

A small town is served by many competing supermarkets, which have constant marginal cost.

Using a diagram of the market for groceries, show the consumer surplus, producer surplus and total surplus.

Now suppose that the independent supermarkets combine to form one chain. Using a new diagram, show the new consumer surplus, producer surplus and total surplus. Relative to the competitive market, what is the transfer from consumers to producers? What is the deadweight loss?

Q4 MR in Monopoly

Why is marginal revenue (MR) the same as price in perfect competition?

Why is marginal revenue (MR) below price in monopoly?

Q5 A Loss-making Monopoly

(a) National Australia Bank (NAB) has a branch in a small town in Queensland; it is the only bank in this town. In the past it was breaking even. But recently due to migration of population into bigger cities, the demand for banking services has gone down. This branch is now making losses. Sketch a clearly labelled diagram to illustrate this change.

(b) How does technological advancement affect the price and output of a competitive market? Consider a competitive market. In the process of technological change, why do we observe that some firms keep on using the old technology and suffer economic losses?[supanova_question]

Major assignment 3: Synthesis essay Here’s what I want you to do:

Major assignment 3: Synthesis essay

Here’s what I want you to do:

You will write a 5-6-pp. synthesis essay, citing at least 4 different sources (2 of which are academic texts, and one of which you must find on your own), in order to develop a thesis, in response to the prompt below.

Prompt: Under what conditions or criteria is cultural appropriation more or less justified? What specific examples—from music and other arts or creative modes of expression—can help us work through our assumptions, values, and ideas about how and why cultural appropriation is more or less justified?

Some sub-questions (that paragraphs of your essay can address) may include the following:

NOTE: TO ADDRESS MOST OF THESE QUESTIONS, IT WILL BE CRUCIAL TO ANALYZE SPECIFIC EXAMPLES OF CULTURAL APPROPRIATION.

What is cultural appropriation—and (how) is it different from referencing another culture or acknowledging the influence of another culture in art?

If cultural appropriation can be justified, what kinds of cultural appropriation are more acceptable? Or under what conditions/circumstances/contexts can cultural appropriation be more acceptable?

If you think an example of cultural appropriation cannot be justified, what makes cultural appropriation ethically wrong? Or under what conditions/circumstances/contexts can cultural appropriation be less acceptable?

Why is it difficult to determine what makes cultural appropriation more or less acceptable?

Who gets to determine whether cultural appropriation is acceptable or not—and why? What impact does this have on what kinds of cultural appropriation may be deemed more or less acceptable?

How does one determine a just response to different kinds and levels of cultural appropriation? In what context should collective action, even legal action, take place against certain examples of cultural appropriation?

Here’s why I want you to do it:

A synthesis essay draws from and navigates through many sources which represent different aspects of the conversation around a specific and compelling issue, problem, or question. In a synthesis essay, a “thesis” is developed in response to other points of view in a discussion, even as it represents the writer’s point of view. By writing a synthesis essay you will work on the following

Analysis and response to different points of view, including anticipating counter-arguments

Synthesizing different points of view to construct a thesis that is supported by the rest of your essay

Responsible citation and smooth integration of sources

Art of persuasion

More than any other major assignment, THIS is the major assignment that sets the stage for EGL 102.

Here’s how I want you to do it: Requirements

Page length: 5-6 pp.: double spaced, one-inch margins, normal font style and size (e.g., Times New Roman, 12-pt. font)

For each page less than the required 5, your overall grade for the assignment will drop by an entire letter.

The Works Cited and any optional images do NOT count towards required page length. And I’m starting with the first line of the essay (not the heading).

Thesis: Your thesis must address the prompt: it must indicate your key claim, though it should be based on an understanding of different points of view in the discussion on cultural appropriation.

It needs to be stated clearly in your introduction, which is the first paragraph of your essay, and then developed and supported (though NOT repeated) over the rest of your essay.

In nearly all cases, your thesis (on the relative acceptability of cultural appropriation) will likely take the form of an “although” kind of statement (or, as Graff and Birkenstein might put it, an “agree and disagree simultaneously but with an emphasis on one” statement).

Sources: You need to cite at least 4 different sources in your essay thoughtfully and responsibly, and well-integrated with your own prose: 2 must be the required academic texts from this Unit. 1 must be one that you are able to find on your own (therefore, not among the materials I have included in this unit) that is relevant to the discussion (deals with the issue of cultural appropriation) and fulfills the criteria of the CRAAP test.

You need to incorporate both of the academic texts on cultural appropriation in thoughtful ways: selections from Ziff and Rao’s Borrowed Power and James Young’s Cultural Appropriation and the Arts

You need at least two more sources, but ONE of the sources you must find on your own (via Google or Library databases):

You are welcome to cite from Laura Jackson’s White Negroes.

You are welcome to cite from any of the optional articles, or online articles or videos (if the video discusses different points of view on cultural appropriation) mentioned/discussed in class, and/or on the Powerpoints from this Unit.

ONE must be an online article you find on your own that deals with cultural appropriation—ideally with an example of cultural appropriation that you are analyzing. It must fulfill the criteria of the CRAAP test—especially with regard to relevance and credibility/responsibility. It must have an acknowledged author(s) who can be held responsible for the information in the article.

It CANNOT be among the required readings/podcasts/videos or the optional articles that I have included in Unit 3.

These sources will offer ideas, points of view, arguments for you to apply or respond to in your analysis of whether certain examples of cultural appropriation are justifiable or not.

Examples: Since questions of the justifiability or acceptability of cultural appropriation can only be answered relatively and contextually, you’ll need at least 3 DIFFERENT and COMPELLING examples of cultural appropriation to analyze closely and insightfully, in order to develop your ideas and thesis. You should choose to analyze examples of cultural appropriation that are TRICKY, not easy to judge or dismiss either way (as justifiable or not), so that it requires analysis, consideration of other points of view, and deeper thinking to make a convincing case for whether cultural appropriation is more or less justifiable in this example or not.

You are welcome to use the examples we have discussed in class, largely from the various readings, both academic and online texts—but it needs to reflect your own point of view and develop YOUR own argument.

However, you are also welcome to use examples that are known to you or relevant to your own experience or interests—these examples do NOT have to be from the music field. They can be anything cultural, especially if they have generated some controversy or discussion on whether it’s cultural appropriation or not (or whether it more or less justifiable).

You may choose to include images, if you think this will help readers understand your claims. This won’t count towards the required page length.

Introduction and conclusion:

You need a one-paragraph introduction that engages your audience, but also sets up your thesis (this will also require you to include your definition of cultural appropriation or at least your criteria for evaluating whether it’s appropriate or not).

You need a one-paragraph conclusion that does not reiterate or summarize what you wrote, but actually projects outwards to the broader considerations/implications of your thesis or allows us to look at your thesis from a slightly different perspective.

Works Cited page: You need to include a separate Works Cited page at the end of your essay (this does not count towards the required 5 pp.) that includes all the sources you cited in MLA 8th ed. Format. There will be Powerpoints on how to construct a Works Cited page, but they largely draw from the OWL at Purdue’s “MLA Formatting and Style Guide”: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/mla_style/mla_formatting_and_style_guide/mla_formatting_and_style_guide.html

Week 2 Discussion

Displaying Data
Visual displays of data provide you and anyone else with a graphical display of what is often a complex array of quantitative data. A key strength of visualization is the ability to quickly enlighten you with key data. Rather than solely relying on your audience to interpret numerical values and statistics explained in a narrative, a visual display can easily illustrate descriptions, relationships, and trends. Although the focus is on simplicity, the researcher has an obligation to present these graphical displays in a clear and meaningful way.
For this Discussion, you will explore ways to appropriately display data.
To prepare for this Discussion:
Review the Learning Resources for this week related to frequency distributions and graphic displays of data.
Using the SPSS software, open the General Social Survey dataset found in this week’s Learning Resources.
Next, create a figure or table from a few selected variables within the dataset.
Finally, think about what is good about how the data are displayed in the figure or table you created and what is not so good.
By Day 3
Post your display of the table or figure you created and provide an explanation of why this would be the best way to display the data provided, include the General Social Survey Dataset’s mean of Age to verify the dataset you used.
Be sure to support your Main Post and Response Post with reference to the week’s Learning Resources and other scholarly evidence in APA Style.

Almotaseb Almahameed, Sharari, & Dabbouri (2020) discuss the importance of transformational leadership when employees are resuming duties and the necessary preparation in addressing the global crisis of Covid-19. The tasks become more complex and require disproportionately more effort during times of crisis; as a result, communication barriers become more challenging to overcome, and only transformational leadership can address.

Furthermore, Almotaseb et al. (2020) provide an overview of job satisfaction and effective communication as two essential factors to consider. If leaders and employees communicate effectively, they will understand and meet each other’s needs and expectations. Almotaseb et al. (2020) determined communication is critical in any organization, but it is imperative in multiple departments where mutual understanding and satisfaction are essential.

Additionally, Almotaseb et al. (2020) discussed the inability of leaders to communicate effectively, and the absence of communication are the two most significant obstacles in the ability to work. Companies were experiencing financial difficulties as a result, which caused high employee turnover.

Arzhanova, K. A., Beregovskaya, T. A., & Silina, S. A. (2020). The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on consumer behavior and companies’ internet communication strategies. Proceedings of the Research Technologies of Pandemic Coronavirus Impact (RTCOV 2020), 50-57. Retrieved from: file:///C:/Users/MedsupOffice/Downloads/125945739.pdf

Arzhanova, Beregovskaya, & Silina, 2020) discussed social media platform as being one of the most important means of communicating with customers in today’s world. Most people are forced to become distant because of Covid-19, and the internet assumed a more significant role than ever before. The article concluded people significantly rely on social meda channel as a primary means of communication. Companies were increasingly utilizing social media networks as the means of products and services display and communication with consumers. Consequently, there was a shift in consumer behavior. Therefore, the article sough to discuss these changes and the effect of the pandemic on social networks and digital marketing strategies.

Bajalski & Ševi? (2021) discussed the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic as a huge reason for demand in effective communication between governments and the general public. The article explained communication and valuable marketing activities as the highest priority in the business industry. The ramifications of the absence of communication due to the pandemic resulted in a great deal of fear and distrust among the public, panic responses, and a decline in the economy. Nonetheless, the most tragic consequence of improper communication was the loss of lives even at the workplace. As soon as a disaster struck, the communication between emergency services became a critical management activity. As part of its analysis, the article considers how communications processes were changing in the modern world, particularly in internet communication, which was being used with traditional forms of communication leading to higher necessity during the pandemic. The purpose of the article was to draw attention to the critical role of effective communication and marketing in ensuring effective Covid-19 crisis management.

Dermaku & Balliu (2021) discussed the different perspectives on conflict, the factors causing conflict, and the various conflict management strategies. According to the discussion findings, other potential sources of conflict were personal factors, including each individual’s value system and personality characteristics. The study demonstrated certain personality types, for example, dogmatic or authoritarian, as persons who barely consider others hence a massive cause for conflict. Each group had its own set of objectives, and each was dedicated to achievement. As a result of increased attachment to individual goals or norms, this problem occurs more frequently. Nonetheless, among the critical sources for Conflict identified was poor communication due to misunderstandings. Additionally, the study discovered the impact of insufficient information movement and interference in communication channels could have on the entire organization’s performance.

Fernandez, A. A., & Shaw, G. P. (2020). Academic leadership in a time of crisis: The Coronavirus and COVID?19. Journal of Leadership Studies, 14(1), 39-45.Retrieved from: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/jls.21684

Fernandez & Shaw (2020) recognized Covid-19 as a global health crisis. The article primarily focuses on three of the most effective leadership strategies for navigating unpredictable adaptive difficulties, for example, those posed by the coronavirus pandemic. Fernandez & Shaw (2020) noted academic leaders who possess high levels of emotional intelligence and emotional stability should prioritize the interests of others by employing a servant leadership style which emphasized empowerment, involvement, and collaboration. Secondly, leaders should delegate responsibilities to a network of teams to improve the quality of decisions made during crisis resolution. Thirdly, Fernandez & Shaw (2020) determined the importance of leaders employing frequent and clear communication with stakeholders to better decision-making during crisis resolution.

Therefore, when discussing clear communication, the article determined, while messages are essential, the delivery method is also vital, for example, live streaming, to address the gap of face-to-face communication.

Kaushik, M., & Guleria, N. (2019). Employee relations and engagement during covid-19. Employee Relations, 2(3).Retrieved from: https://www.johnfoundation.com/journals/sparkling/sijmrsv3i2-2020/s-31/

Kaushik & Guleria (2019) perceived the pandemic Covid-19 to come with merits in certain aspects of the employer’s life. Nonetheless, there were still multiple disadvantages. Consequently, the study focused on how employees related and engaged with one another amid Covid-19, leading to a discussion on communication. Kaushik & Guleria (2019) noted employees as having a direct impact on productivity. Therefore, a satisfied and happy employee was the most critical factor in organization success. Positive employee and employer relationships were critical for increasing productivity and performance of the organization. When an employee was engaged in work, it demonstrated job commitment and dedication. However, employee engagement has been negatively affected due to the pandemic. Therefore, Kaushik & Guleria (2019) concluded employee relations being affected due to poor communication and a lack of face-to-face interactions. Therefore, a lot of communication was vital in ensuring a positive relationship with an employee, which led to less turnover.

The study mentioned the importance of acceptance of challenges and change in attaining successful careers within the context of Covid-19. Furthermore, the study concluded the importance of interpersonal relationships created through communication in the survival of employees and companies.

Mahood & Abbas (2020) noted when discussing communication, management is a crucial factor in determining whether the communication is being implemented successfully. Additionally, the study held authority and responsibility of managers in decision making and supervision as critical components. The article noted, for effective communication to be in place, a great manager must communicate successfully with people in various ways, including verbal communication, sending emails, listening to discussions, without interrupting flow of thought.

Martinez & Hurtado. (2018) explained how human beings have developed over time to motivate employees and attain the best results, which was ignited by the desire to interact with one another hence, communication. Internal communication was essential in creating a positive working environment and achieving exceptional performance from employees. The article also held organizations accountable in employing methods which encourage higher performance to handle any instability in the national, regional, and global context. Martinez & Hurtado. (2018) considered an organization’s interactions with its environment and with its people as a strategic instrument, via empirical data, displays the outcomes predicted by the company’s analysis. The study relied on an exploratory and empirical methodology to determine the nature of the challenges in internal communication through employee interviews, which allowed for the determination of the impact and possible solutions.

Retrieved from://bvimsr.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/BJMR-April2021.pdf#page=21.

Onwuegbuna, Nchuchuwe & Ibrahim (2021) discussed the ramifications of poor communication within an organization on employees within the context of Covid-19. The study discovered the most common sources of stress as lack of communication and consultation. The management of employee communication during the Covid19 pandemic was another challenge for human resource managers. In most cases, poor communication leads to challenges in managing a large number of employees. However, during the covid-19 pandemic, it became even more difficult for human resource managers to determine the proper communication method for each employee, particularly those who work remotely. Communication tools such as zoom, video conferencing, email was being used to alleviate communication difficulties, even though some employees were unfamiliar with technology.

Onwuegbuna, Nchuchuwe & Ibrahim (2021) also discovered employees who work from home were nearly twice as likely as those who work in an office to receive correction criticism which focused on unproductive behavior. To maintain two-way communication, management must make a more significant effort to communicate with remote working employees. Furthermore, poor communication from management led to a high level of constant stress. With the pressure for high productivity, management demanded specific work and deadline completion through online supervision. Some employees felt under supported as a result of limited or no contact with other colleagues.

Organizational communication and employee retention were shown to have a positive impact on employee performance. Still, organizational culture was an intervening variable in this study. The research sample consisted of 65 respondents who were all company employees. The research findings demonstrate the influence of organizational culture on the performance of employees in a company. There was no correlation between organizational communication culture and employee performance. Employee retention did affect employee performance; however, if organizational culture was included in efforts to improve employee performance, the method would influence organizational communication culture.

Raycheva (2021) discussed one of the examples in the paper about the challenges of older persons when trying to communicate through digital devices due to Covid-19 measures. The pandemic affected everyone but particularly the elderly. These difficulties necessitated playing close attention to potential threats to the digital generation divide. This article was relevant to the research topic because it discussed the importance of communication in a business. Radovic & Salamzadeh (2018) determined no organization can succeed or progress, let alone build its reputation if it lacks practical communication skills. Therefore, the article noted mismanagement and poor business results can be the result of a faulty communication system. Mainly, the article explained survival and success of a business depend on communication. Additionally, the article denoted the significance of developing communication skills continuously, particularly in a turbulent business environment and other situations. Therefore, relevance is evident in the context of turbulent business based on the impact of Covid-19 on the business environment.

Moreover, stakeholder relationship directly affected the profits of a company. Therefore, some of the critical stakeholders included customers and employees. Effective communication management was held in the article as a powerful tool for managing stakeholder relationships at multiple levels systematically. The primary goal of the research was to investigate the application of proper communication in the context of stakeholders and create the methodology for implementing communication as a suitable tool in stakeholder management. The study was conducted through a questionnaire, survey, and structured interviews, and the participants were stakeholders from multiple levels in the organization.

Unraveling the what and how of organizational communication to employees during COVID-19 pandemic: Adopting an attributional lens. The Journal of Applied Behavioral Science, 56(3), 289-293 Retrieved from: https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/pdf/10.1177/0021886320937026

Sanders, Nguyen, Bouckenooghe, Rafferty & Schwarz (2020) discussed the methods businesses have implemented in addressing the communication within the context of the pandemic. Sanders et al (2020) mentioned millions of employees all over the world were affected by the 2020 pandemic. Multiple businesses were not expecting a pandemic; hence it caused significant disruption. However, while many measures were in place, within the context of covid-19, employees needed leaders to communicate during times of crisis by providing the most relevant information. Therefore, the article explained the need for effective communication during critical decisions making.

Furthermore, Sanders et al. (2020) mentioned multiple employees being at home due to the pandemic, which led to many communication challenges on many different levels. Therefore, organizations adopted technology-driven solutions. The article note managers communicate time-critical information through multiple channels such as email intranet, video conferencing, and other tools, as well as other methods. One of the most challenging for top managers was communicating a large amount of information to employees while managing multiple mediums used by multiple senior managers. Previous research established cases where communication was successful, which was the successful delivery of the message.

Over time businesses developed an increased appreciation for virtual communication during decision making. Warrier, Shankar & Belal (2021) relied on 296 working professionals under distinct organizational structure and hierarchy levels. Furthermore, questionnaires were administered to all participants. The study determined the possibility of altering individual parameters in the model to reduce the reliance on technology for task completion while simultaneously boosting performance efficacy. Warrier, Shankar & Belal (2021) recommended that the findings of the research should be considered by educational institutions, consultants, and any other professional responsible for adjusting virtual communication platforms regularly. Calculation of Consumer Price Index and Rate of Inflation

Part I
Calculation of Consumer Price Index and Rate of Inflation:
In Hampston, there are only 3 goods: popcorn, movie shows, and diet drinks. The following table shows the prices and quantities produced of these goods in 1980, 1990, and 1991:
A “market bundle” for a typical family is deemed to be 5 popcorn, 3 movie shows, and 3 diet drinks. Q.1. Compute the consumer price index (CPI) for each of the three years, using 1980 as the base year (4 points)
Q.2. what was the rate of inflation from 1990 to 1991, using the CPI you calculated in (Q.1.)? (4 points)
Q.3. Now compute the CPI for each of the three years, using 1990 as the base year instead of 1980 but using the same “market bundle.” (4 points)
Q.4. what was the rate of inflation from 1990 to 1991, using the CPI you calculated in (Q.3.)? Is it the same as your answer to (Q.2.)? (4 points)
Q.5. Now suppose that a new market bundle is defined; the “market bundle” is now 6 popcorn, 2 movie shows, and 4 diet drinks. Compute the CPI for the three years, using this “market bundle” and using 1980 as the base year. (4 points)
Q.6. what was the rate of inflation from 1990 to 1991, using the CPI you calculated in (Q.5.)? Explain why it is different from your answer to (Q.2.)? (4 points)

1984 Literary Essay: Winston Smith, Hero or Not?

Assignment Instructions

Respond to the following in the form of a short essay. Your essay should consist of at least five paragraphs.

George Orwell once offered this definition of heroism: ordinary people doing whatever they can to change social systems that do not respect human decency, even with the knowledge that they can’t possibly succeed.

In Winston Smith, the protagonist of 1984, Orwell creates an ordinary person, an “everyman” who stands for all the oppressed citizens of Oceania. Yet, as the novel closes, Winston cries as his love for Big Brother overwhelms him. Is Winston the novel’s hero, by Orwell’s definition? Is he a hero that readers can admire and emulate? Explain your position by tracing Winston’s actions throughout the novel and considering the results of those actions.

Cite specific examples from the novel in your response. Use the notes you take and the questions you answer in the Student Guide to help you formulate your response.

You will hand in your completed response on the final day of this unit.

500 word min prepare a speech that you would give to a group of politicians, educators and activists about the importance of teaching and learning about American Indian History.

I’m working on a History question and need guidance to help me study.

A new movement has started since the early 2000s. A movement where organizations and even political groups are trying to protect America’s lands and Indian cultures.

A Historical Trauma has affected generations of American Indians. A distrust has developed towards different groups, agencies and organizations because of the maltreatment many First Nation people experienced. A view of educating the American people about the history of the First people has become limited in schools and many tribes are asking for help to current events that have decades of history connected to them.

For those who are not affected by the obstacles or issues, trying to understand what it means to be an American Indian in the United States is often difficult. The history of the First Nation is not taught in all schools or to every American. The goal of this class was to briefly introduce you to First Nation and inspire you to learn more about the tribes and the current obstacles they face.

Prepare a speech that you would give to a group of politicians, educators and activists about the importance of teaching and learning about American Indian History. You can utilize the history from pre-European contact to 2017 for this speech.

In your speech, explain why every American should know this American Indian history. How could Americans help mend race relations in the United States and help heal the First Nations communities by learning this history?

In this speech you will stress to the audience the importance of teaching this history, especially in the American school system, and why every American should know the history of the First Nations and have a basic understanding of the history behind the current relationship the tribes have with our American government and society

Any sources should come from the AIE, the lessons case studies, videos, and the research you conducted in the APUS Library.

Do not use Wikipedia or Encyclopedias .

In your speech, demonstrate the breadth of knowledge you have gained from this work. Do not forget to use in text citations because you will be using multiple sources.

This post must be at least 500 words. If you wish, you can add to the speech some ways to heal our nation. What steps can we use to end racism and division among communities and cultures.

Intr Cult Final Paper

Intr Cult Final Paper.

I need support with this Business question so I can learn better.

This course is designed to help you develop insights into other cultures and variations within your own. An essential part of this exercise will be your final project which will be worth 20% of your course grade.

Your final project should be in the form of a written paper.

You will be required in your paper to develop a framework for analyzing and understanding a specific culture or co-culture by examining these characteristics:

Language

Folktales

Values

Nonverbal communications styles

Government

Education

Healthcare

Business

Instructions

Choose a culture or co-culture that is unfamiliar to you, but one in which you can closely observe and research. Then describe these characteristics of that culture in detail.

After you have described the culture, answer these questions:

What stereotypes or prejudices do you have about this culture before you began the project?

How are the culture’s values similar and dissimilar to your own?

What preconceived ideas you had about the culture were wrong?

What steps would you take in the workplace to be effective in communicating with the people of this culture?

Answer these questions. Then, add any other questions or issues you would like to address.

Your paper must be 8 pages long. Be sure to use headings for each individual topic. Also, be sure to give the source for your research in the paper (when you use someone else’s material) and include a bibliography at the end of your paper.

You may not use any more than five sources; most of your information will come from your own observations. For example, you might observe and research a particular ethnic group, or religious group, or even the military (if you are not already a part of the military).

The key to this activity is to choose a culture or co-culture with which you are not familiar so that you can identify characteristics that may be similar or dissimilar.
