Primary Source Analysis Paragraph #4
This assignment is based on Module 7.1.3 The Martyrdom of Perpetua and Felicity. Please review the unit and complete the primary source reading of the Martyrdom of Perpetual and Felicity (PDF) before attempting this assignment.
Once you have completed the readings, download the attachment and complete the paragraph. Upload your analysis as a .doc or.pdf file.
Please read through this unit. Your assignment instructions are below.
The document known as “The Passion of Perpetua and Felicity” is one of the oldest and most notable early Christian texts. It is purported to contain the actual prison diary of a young mother and martyr named Perpetua.
A martyr is somebody who suffers persecution and death because of their religion. Many Christians, who refused to abdicate their faith and sacrifice to Roman gods, were killed during gladiatorial games and other festivities in ancient Rome. These martyrs are celebrated in the Christian tradition as saints and examples of the strength and virtue.
Perpetua and Felicity (believed to have died in 203 AD) were Christian martyrs. Vibia Perpetua was a married noblewoman, said to have been 22 years old at the time of her death. She was the mother of an infant. Felicity, a slave imprisoned with her and pregnant at the time, was martyred with her.
Both Perpetual and Felicity were catechumens, Christians converts who had not yet been baptized.
The two were arrested and executed along with others in Carthage during a celebration of the Emperor Septimus Severus’s birthday.

Writer’s Choice Essay ” so-my-character-name-is-sieyes-see-yez-who-is-one-of-the-feuillants-endorse-the-revolution-and-its-accomplishment-the/”>Political Science Assignment Help Please do the readings and choose one of the following questions and react to it briefly (150 words).
1. Federal justices serve on the bench “during good Behaviour,” typically meaning until they resign, retire, or pass away. Some have proposed a number of modifications to this, including rotating 18-year terms, staggered such that vacancies are uniform across time. Do you believe justices should have rotating, fixed terms? Why or why not?
2. Federal justices are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate, so voters have no direct say in who is selected. However, many state courts (like Texas) use competitive elections to select judges, while other states (like California) hold retention elections where the governor first appoints a justice and voters then decide in the next election if they want that individual to continue on. Which selection method do you think is superior? Should justices be elected or appointed? How might these mechanisms change their decisions?
3. In recent public statements, Justices Amy Coney Barrett, Clarence Thomas, and Stephen Breyer have argued that 1) the Supreme Court is a nonpartisan institution and that 2) policymakers should resist enacting any reforms that would risk politicizing the Court. Why are the justices concerned about public perceptions of the Court’s partisanship? Are they correct that the Court operates independently of partisan politics? Why or why not?
4. The power of “special interests” in DC is often decried by many. Do you believe that interest groups have too much power in the United States? Why or why not? If you believe they have too much power, how could this be addressed.
