The Russ College of Engineering and Technology of Ohio University announced in a press conference that it had found “rampant and flagrant plagiarism” in the theses of mechanical engineering graduate students. Faculty singled out for “ignoring their ethical responsibilities” included Jay Gunasekera, chair of the department. Gunasekera was prohibited from advising students. He filed a suit against Dennis Irwing, the dean of Russ College, for violating his due process rights. What does due process require in these circumstances? Why? [Gunasekera v. Irwin, 551 F.3d 461 (6th Cir. 2009)].
Essay writing has been one of the key skills used by critical social commentators. It is the medium that offers you the opportunity to fully engage with and communicate your critical thinking on important social issues. Throughout history, skilled essayists have been among the most important agents of social change. They are able to combine literary skills with research skills to produce written texts that can create sufficient social and political ruptures to enable progressive social change. For example, the writings of Gore Vidal have influenced the peace movement, James Baldwin’s writing influenced the black civil right movement, Simone de Beauvoir influenced the women’s movement and so on. So, be inspired by the prospect of writing an essay, don’t be daunted by it.
Once you become skilled at essay writing it can become a means for you to find your ‘academic voice’ – a style of argument that both conforms to the conventions of academic practice but also has a unique quality that reflects your disposition, your life experiences and your particular way of seeing the world. The convention that you will follow will be to: cite evidence to support your arguments; provide citations and references to the literature from where that evidence comes; structure your essay with an introduction, main text body and conclusion (no abstract required); and, to identify and defend against the counter arguments and counter claims that are made in relation to your own arguments and claims.
Your voice comes through with the way you express your ideas. The more you stay away from citing too many long quotes and the less you paraphrase the work of others, the more space you will have to hone your skills and develop your own writing style.

Use your own words to explain the different concepts and arguments you reference from authors or other materials that you cite in support of your answers. Do not include direct quotes from readings! There is no need to reproduce the question at the top of the page or provide a formal introduction or conclusion—this will take up space you could use for your answer. Make sure to answer all parts of each question. The applications you make to the articles and/or additional information will be an important part of your grade, so make sure to prioritize accordingly, while not neglecting the first part of the questions. You do not need to include a reference list, but you should cite course materials referenced in your answers appropriately. For question 1, use the author’s last name to reference the article. Sources are included for the other supporting information. For question two, use the author’s last name to reference the article. 1.) Keenan (2015) writes, “Simply put, the American university does not hold its employees to professional ethical standards because it has not created a culture of ethical consciousness and accountability at the university, and this is in part both because of the nature of the contemporary university and because it does not believe that it needs ethics” (p. 4). For this activity, please write whether you agree or disagree with Keenan’s assertion and provide at least one example from your college or university experiences to support your posting. Paper topic patient safety fall prevention
Your Experiential Learning Project (ELP) required you to become a change agent. You selected a problem that was professionally or personally important to you, researched the problem, and developed a plan of action that included strategies for success, stakeholders and resources by linking a QSEN competency. Now it is time to put it all together. You may use the information from your weeks 1-3 templates – but do not just copy and paste – synthesize all of your information.
For this assignment you will write a minimum of a 4-5 page paper (no more than 5 pages, not including the title page, abstract, or reference page) connecting all of your links. Your paper should be in strict APA format including citations and references, and an abstract is required for this paper. You may use first person, but limited use.
Your paper should include:
The frame of your problem. Remember to include your framing information!
A second solution to your problem (see explanation below).
An implementation and evaluation plan for your second solution including a discussion related to your stakeholders and resources.
An overall evaluation of your ELP.
Preceptor (mentor) experience.
The Second Solution:
The paper includes a discussion of a hypothetical second solution, implementation, and evaluation. (numbers 5 and 6 above). A good nurse always has a back-up plan – or what are your next steps now that you implemented your ELP. This is where your second solution comes into play. Also, are there stakeholders or resources that might be available if there were a different solution? Is there a short term solution and a long term solution? Do you need to adjust your plan due to time or money constraints?
This assessment is aligned with the course objectives.
Extend academic experience into areas of nursing practice interest, working with new ideas, issues, organizations, and individuals.
Demonstrate the ability to think and act critically and creatively about nursing practice issues.
Develop analytical and ethical leadership skills necessary to address and help solve these issues.
Utilize evidence-based research and demonstrate proficiency in written and communication skills.
Please look at all the attached documents to write the paper.
Minimum of eight (8) total references: one (1) reference from required course materials and seven (7) peer-reviewed references – you may use the ones from your templates in weeks 1-3. All references must be no older than five years (unless making a specific point using a seminal piece of information)
Peer-reviewed references include references from professional data bases such as PubMed or CINHAL applicable to population and practice area, along with evidence based clinical practice guidelines. Examples of unacceptable references are Wikipedia, UpToDate, Epocrates, Medscape, WebMD, hospital organizations, insurance recommendations,
