This is an individual project that you will need to approach in the order of the tasks listed below. You should move through the tasks carefully, making sure that you have been successful with a task before beginning the next one: this will minimize your frustration level with this project! References to the associated Microsoft Access training videos are linked to each of the task sections below. These references should definitely help you to refresh your memory from your CIS 125 (or equivalent course) on the actions required to complete each of the tasks.

Background of the Project:

A movie buff has asked for your help in creating a Microsoft Access 2013 database solution to enter and maintain information on movies that she has viewed. You are to design, create, and implement a solution in Access for this hypothetical scenario. First, review these Microsoft Access 2013 training videos (Links to an external site.)for a refresher as you get started with your Access work (if you don’t view these, thisassignment will present a much greater challenge for you). In fact, viewing the videos first will make your experience much less frustrating.

I. Tables Tasks – In this database, you will need tables to represent Movies, Movie Types, Movie Stars, and Stars in Movies. Here is the information needed in each one of those tables:

  1. Movies – Movie Number (the primary key, hint: autonumber type will work for this), Movie Title, Year Released, Movie Type (hint: this will need to be linked to Type Number in the Movie Types table through a created relationship later), MPAA Rating (possible ratings are G, PG, PG-13, R, NC- 17, and NR), and Movie Length (in minutes).
  2. Movie Types – Type Number (the primary key, hint: autonumber type will work for this), Description (entries will be needed for the following types: Action, Comedy, Family, Drama, Horror, Sci-Fi, and Western).
  3. Movie Stars – Star Number (the primary key, hint: autonumber type will work for this), Star Last Name, Star First Name, Birth Month (use Number data type), Birth Day (use Number data type), Birth Year (use Number data type).
  4. Stars in Movies – Movie Number, Star Number (this is a composite primary key, where the two fields collectively serve as the primary key. Autonumber will not work for these).

You should create these tables in the order listed. Tip: Do not enter in data until all Tables and Relationships are created!

II. Relationships Tasks: First, watch this short video (Links to an external site.) for a demonstration of creating relationships in Microsoft Access 2013. There are three required relationships:

  1. Establish a relationship between Movies and Movie Types enforcing referential integrity.
  2. Establish a relationship between Movie Stars and Stars in Movies enforcing referential integrity.
  3. Establish a relationship between Movies and Stars in Movies enforcing referential integrity.

Once you have successfully established these relationships, enter a minimum of 20 records for your Movies table, using information available from the IMDb Genres (Links to an external site.)website. You may enter the movies of your choice. Be certain to add a least one movie from each of the types in your Movie Types table (see the indicated categories in item I. 2. above). You will find the Movies of the specified movie types by clicking on the links on IMDB Genre webpage. For your Movie Stars table, enter at least two stars from each of your movies entered into your Movies table. For the Stars in Movies table, you will need to enter an existing Movie Number from the Movies table and an existing Star Number of the actor starring in that movie from the Movie Stars table.

Tip: For data entry it is recommend that you enter in one row of data for each of your tables to test out that your relationships work. Don’t fall into the trap of entering in 20 movies only to find out that the relationships are incorrect and you have to go back and edit each one. If you are comfortable with the data entry you may temporarily skip ahead to Section IV and create a form for data entry.

III. Query Tasks: There are four required queries:

  1. Create a query that prompts the user (hint: this is a parameter query, see this (Links to an external site.)video tutorial (Links to an external site.)) for a Movie Title and then display all fields associated with that movie in the Movies table plus associated Description field from the Movie Types table. Name this query QryMovieInfo.
  2. Create a query that lists all stars in all movies. The query must display Movie Title, Year Made, Star First Name, and Star Last Name, in that order. The query output should be sorted in ascending alphabetical order by Movie Title. Name this query QryStarsInMovies.
  3. Create a query that lists all stars who were younger than the age of 26 in all movies during the year in which the movie was released. The query must display Movie Title, Year Made, Star First Name, Star Last Name, and Age During Release Year (calculated field, see this (Links to an external site.)video tutorial (Links to an external site.)) in that order. The query output should be sorted in ascending alphabetical order by Movie Title. Name this query QryYoungStarsInMovies.
  4. Create a query that prompts the user (hint: this is a parameter query) for a Genre description and then displays all Movie Titles categorized as that genre. The query output should be sorted in ascending alphabetical order by Movie Title. Name this query QryMoviesinAGenre.

IV. Form Task: There are two required forms:

  1. Create a form to support the entry of new movies into the Movies table. The form should contain all fields in the Movies table and contain an appropriate title at the top of the form.
  2. Create a form based on the form created in item 1. above (contains all fields from the Movie table) that also contains a subform displaying each star (Star First Name, Star Last Name) in the movie (see this (Links to an external site.)video tutorial (Links to an external site.)). You can be creative with the form design!

V. Report Task: There is one required report: Create a report, grouped by Genre Description (see this (Links to an external site.)video tutorial (Links to an external site.)) (Links to an external site.), that contains Genres, all Movies within each Genre, the associated Description from the Movie Types table, and the Year that the movie was released. The report must be sorted in ascending numeric order by Genre and then by Movie Title. (Hint: you will first need to create a query producing this information and then base the report on that query).

Submission: When you have completed your Access 2013 database, submit it as an attachment to the Database Case assignment link. Only “.accdb” files are accepted. An “.laccdb” is the temporary working file of your database that only is visible when your database is open.

Writing Essay , writing homework help Writing Assignment Help

The emergence of a retail market in the first half of the 19th century dramatically altered the lives of working Americans, both free and enslaved, as the divisions within society deepened. The early expansion of industrial and agricultural development involved different types of labor and economic organization. The changing status of workers and the organization of work not only challenged the Jeffersonian ideal of a nation of property owners but also transformed the nature of work itself.

In what ways did industrial and agricultural development change the nature of work for urban artisans and journeymen in the North and southern slaves and Native Americans in the South, respectively, and how did each group respond to these changes?

Conclude your paper by evaluating the degree to which these groups of people shared in the nation’s prosperity.

Support your paper with relevant evidence from class readings and notes. Use proper attribution, citing the author’s last name and page number when quoting directly and paraphrasing from the readings. Include a works cited page at the end of your paper. Use the following style:

Foner, Eric (2004) Tom Paine and Revolutionary America. New York: Oxford Press.

Clark, Christopher et. al (2008) Who Built America? Working People and the Nation’s History. Volume One: To 1877. New York: Bedford St. Martin’s.

De Tocqueville, Alexis. How an Aristocracy May be Created by Manufactureshttp://xroads.virginia.edu/~HYPER/DETOC/ch2_20.htm

All papers must be typed, double-spaced throughout and five (5) pages in length, each numbered with standard one-inch margins and size 12 font. Respect the page limit. Correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation matter. Use only those sources that have been assigned and discussed in class; do not use any other sources, especially those from the Internet.

My Father’s House, writing homework help Humanities Assignment Help

1. My Father’s House

The main point of the essay, from the writer’s recollection, about what had transpired at his father’s house, seven years ago, was a very difficult situation, which carried long lasting memories. A model family’s lives got disrupted by one man’s selfish desire and decision-making. I strongly believed that the subject matter of the essay, strictly elaborates on a bitter divorce, which brought pain and suffering to a now distraught family.

The events that lead to the ending of the family’s destruction, was the unspoken hurt their mother experienced from their dad, until the divorce matter was brought to light. Recall the time when the daughter asked her mother about going outside to play, and the display of hurt that she saw in her mother’s face, caused her to become worried. Her mother did not want to say no to her, but at the time her soul was in turmoil from pain and stress that she was enduring at the time. The question most people would ask, would be – was the husband involved in an extra-marital affair with the wife that he later married?

I found this essay to be rather disturbing and I was very saddened by the breaking up of a once close-knitted family. Marriage is very meaningful to me, and I detest divorce to the tenth power, mainly because of all the ramification and changes that it creates. The hurt experienced by each family member, would change each person’s outlook on their way of life, thinking, future relationships and trust. The wife and children would have had a much faster recovery time, if they had seek counseling, soon after the fact.

The abstract concept, I believe, was the fact that he was given the role to become the man of the house by his dad, at such a tender age, would cause him to become more worried. He would not know what to do because his dad was the likely party to be the man of the house, which was an easy task for him, as an adult. Was their dad hurt any at all by his selfish decision that he had made? It would be quite possible that he did, mainly because he did not like the breaking up of the family, but his interest lies elsewhere. This kind of situation would weigh on the husband’s mind for a long time, even after he had gotten married to his new wife. Situation such as this, would help to make people stronger and more conscious, due to a presentation of an unforeseen situation that caused devastation.

The moral of the story would be, that people who are married with children, should think about the pain they would cause their children, before they think about a divorce. Being married to my wife is a very heart-warming feeling because we wake up and see each other each day. My daughter will grow up, knowing that her parents were happily married. This kind of relationship breathes life in a marriage and make it healthy and strong. People must cease to become selfish and should strive to have good communication skills between both parties. If it was a situation that requires a counselor’s intervention, then they should both seek help and discuss the matter. Communication, honesty and trust are paramount in the growth of a well-structured relationship.

2.This was a very touching short story. It only took me reading the first paragraph before I was completely drawn into the story and had to know what happened next. I guess in part by me wondering how my children felt when their mother and I divorced and if they feel the same way, but then the second paragraph really punched me in the gut. The thought of a child feeling like they need to knock on either of their parents doors in my culture, divorced or not, is not common and it makes me feel sad for the person the author is writing about. This man has a lot of resentment towards his father and the story really portrays that without specifically making mention of it. I got the feeling the father was having an affair and maybe now this new woman living in the house was the person he had the affair with. It also says a lot in my opinion when the author wrote about an 11 year old child feeling like he could not break eye contact with the father after being told about the parent’s decision to divorce because he didn’t want to look weak. For me, right then this child started a whole new concept of who he was as a person then, what type of person his father was and the person he knew he did and did not want to be. Even though the divorce was the worst thing in his life to happen at that time the story tells me that despite such a traumatic event it also ended up being the best thing that could happen to him to know what type of husband and father he would be himself and that is the abstract part of this story.

This two article is reaction to an article, just write your own thought when you read this two article and give me one paragraph for each article.

Global Learning and Cultural Diversity

Consider the following scenario:

A high school technology class in the United States was participating in an online project with a class in an Arab country where the students worked in small groups to create a video presentation. As the project progressed, the American teenaged boys found the girls in their group to be fascinating and started flirting cautiously with them. The Arab teachers were so distraught with the situation; they withdrew their students from the project.

In thinking about the outcome of this scenario, what led to the withdrawal of the Arab class? What might have been done to prevent the outcome? As a teacher, how do you recover from this?

One of the benefits of providing training and learning opportunities for employees or students online is that students are not bound by geographical location. Course participants can live anywhere in the world, which provides rich learning experiences but also provides challenges. Instructional designers must be culturally sensitive in the development of assignments, instructions for engagement, and assessments.

To prepare:

Consider how eLearning courses can include global learning communities. Reflect how cultural diversity might impact eLearning design. Think about times when what one considers a “best practice” of eLearning design might result in culturally-based issues.

By Day 3 of Week 11:

Post a fictitious eLearning scenario exploring potential misunderstandings in the design of eLearning courses with potential international audiences. For example, in an eLearning course, requiring course participants to develop lessons that have mixed gender audiences may not be appropriate in some cultures. (Note: Keep descriptions of culture generalized. Do not mention specific countries, race, or cultures. Instead, identify characteristics of a culture to share the parameters).

Imagine that you are a researcher and are conducting a study to investigate a community problem, ABS497 Final Paper help Humanities Assignment Help

Final Paper

Imagine that you are a researcher and are conducting a study to
investigate a community problem. Using behavioral research principles,
select a macro systems problem to investigate (there are many suggested
in the textbook, e.g. domestic violence, homophobia, sexual abuse,
delinquent gangs) and design a study to solve this community problem.

The purpose of your Final Paper is to solve this community problem.

The Final Paper should be eight- to- ten pages (excluding title and reference pages) that includes the following components:

(Please note that for the purposes of offering instruction, examples
have been given below about a research study involving the use of
financial reward programs to combat truancy. Please make sure that you
create a study that does not investigate the same content.)

  1. Introduction – This section should include a brief summary of
the community problem that will be addressed, as well as the approach
that will be used to investigate and solve the problem.
  2. Statement of the problem – The purpose of this section is to
specify the main research question (e.g., Does enrollment in a financial
reward program reduce truancy?) and define the community problem in
more depth (e.g., truancy), analyzing why it is a problem. In addition,
you will explain the problem-solving method you plan to employ (e.g.,
enrollment in a financial reward program) and state your main
hypothesis. (e.g., Enrollment in a financial reward program is expected
to reduce student truancy in the short term, but its long-term effects
    are difficult to predict.)
  3. Literature Review – In this section, research findings
pertaining to both the community problem and problem solving method need
to be illustrated. (e.g., Relevant articles may include those on the
prevalence of truancy, the impact of truancy, previous methods used to
combat truancy, and the benefits of financial reward programs.)
  4. Methodology – Explain how your Final Paper will investigate the
problem. How will the study be designed? How many participants will be
involved in the study and how will they be recruited? (e.g., Four
classes at a local high school will be given the opportunity to
participate in the research study. Two of these classes will be enrolled
in the financial reward program.) How will data be collected? (e.g.,
Truancy data will be collected on all of the participants for the six
months preceding the reward program, for the duration of the program,
and for the six months after completion of the reward program.) What
statistics will be used to evaluate the data? (e.g., Inferential
statistics will be conducted to compare the truancy levels of the group
of students participating in the program with those of the group of
students who are not participating in the program.)  Ethical
considerations should be discussed to ensure that no unethical research
    is suggested.
  5. Conclusions – This section should contain concluding remarks
about any potential problems that might be encountered in conducting
this research study. It should also include speculations on the
    potential results of the study.

Writing the Final PaperThe Final Paper:

  1. Must be eight to ten double-spaced pages in length, and
formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing
    Center.
  2. Must include a title page with the following:
    1. Title of paper
    2. Student’s name
    3. Course name and number
    4. Instructor’s name
    5. Date submitted
    6. Must begin with an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis statement.
    7. Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
    8. Must end with a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis.
    9. Must use at least five scholarly sources, including a minimum of three from the Ashford Online Library.
