In this assignment, you will develop an annotated bibliography of sources associated with your topic of interest and research focus. Start with the three qualitative research studies you identified in Week 2 and the three quantitative research studies you identified in Week 3. Augment these scholarly sources with the three institutional, organizational, or governmental agency sources you identified in Week 4. Make sure that all the sources you identify and include in your annotated bibliography are relevant to your research topic. Important: if your Instructor provided feedback in Weeks 2, 3 or 4 that any of your resources were not acceptable, make sure to find replacement sources before you write your annotated bibliography. Check with your instructor if you have any questions about the suitability of your resources. These resources will form the basis of a literature review that you will write in the second Scholarly Argument course, RES7110.

Compile an annotated bibliography of the six research study articles (three qualitative and three quantitative) and the three supplemental sources you identified throughout this course. In the annotated bibliography,

• Create an annotated bibliography for the three qualitative research articles, the three quantitative research articles and the three institutional, organizational and government agency sources you identified in previous weeks, summarizing each article or the information your found in the supplemental sources. Create a reference entry for each source in proper APA format (incorporate previous feedback you received from your instructor about proper APA formatting). • Explain the relevance or usefulness of each source, examine how the sources relate or link to one another, and explain how information is supported and contradicted across the sources.
• Evaluate the evidence of quality of each source, discussing any evidence of inconsistency or bias within each source and across sources.
• Synthesize critical findings from the nine sources in a Synthesis Matrix.

The Annotated Bibliography paper

• Must be at least 2,500 words in length, with each source annotation being at least 250 words in length, and formatted according to the Ashford Writing Center’s APA Style (Links to an external site.) resource.
• Include a title and reference page for your paper. No abstract is necessary for this assignment.

Introduction. Identifies your specific research question and sets the general context for the study.

Statement of the problem or general research question and context leading to a clear statement of the specific research question. Background and contextual material justifying why we should study this case or topic. Purpose statement.

Literature Review. Reviews the literature on a specific research question. The literature review focuses on discussing how other researchers have addressed the same of similar research questions. It introduces the study and places in larger context that includes a discussion of why it is important to study this case). It provides current state of our accumulated knowledge as it relates to your specific research question. It should include a short conclusion and transition to the Theoretical Framework section.

Theoretical Framework. The theoretical framework section develops the theories or models to be used in the study and shows how you have developed testable research hypotheses. This section includes a discussion of the gaps in the literature and how your thesis will address those gaps. It will include a justification and explanation of the theory or model that is used in the thesis.

Research Design. Describes how you will test the hypothesis and carry out your analysis. It describes the data you will use to test your hypothesis, how you will operationalize and collect data on your variables, and the analytic methods that you will use, noting potential biases and limitations to your research approach.

Findings/Results/Discussion. This section describes the results of the study.

Reference List. Reference the works that you have cited (direct quotes or paraphrases) in the text. This must be in APA format.

Keep in mind that appropriate stylistic formatting and documentation are the student’s responsibility. Student papers that do not follow the prescribed style rules will not be accepted.

Technical Requirements

• Your paper must be at a minimum of 50 pages (the Title and Reference pages do not count towards the minimum limit).
• Scholarly and credible references should be used. A good rule of thumb is at least 2 scholarly sources per page of content.
• Type in Times New Roman, 12 point and double space.
• Students will follow the current APA Style as the sole citation and reference style used in written work submitted as part of coursework.

In your required reading by Fontaine (2016), examine the information on technical risks to projects:
