Being able to interpret history goes beyond just reading books and articles. Many today look at cultural outlets like films, music, magazines, and other forms of entertainment to get a better understand of how societies presented and understood issues of the day. These could be salutary portrayals or subversive criticisms. For this assignment you will choose of the films listed below and write a paper analyzing the film based on the questions provided for each one. Essays should be no shorter than 500 words and preferably no longer than 1000. You may use all kinds of sources to bolster your arguments including but not limited to class readings, film reviews, academic articles (check JSTOR), or websites [for websites please consult with me in advance on their validity]. Your papers will be in MLA format with 1 inch margins, double-spaced, in 12 pt Times New Roman font and include citations for your sources. Please use Chicago Style citation with footnotes and a works cited page or MLA style in text citations with a works cited page. Citations must be used for quotes taken from the movie. Remember to consider the time period in which each film was made and how each comments upon their respective time period.
Each of the following films can be found on the Canvas Page in the “Pages Tab.” Click “View All Pages” and you will see a page for each of them at the bottom of the page.
The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and is ranked as one of the best American films ever made according to the American Film Institute as well as the Internet Movie Database. Write an analysis of the film’s depiction of the anxieties of returning veterans and difficulties of post-war demobilization. In your analysis consider the following questions to guide you: What are the problems the three leads face in adjusting to peacetime American society? Consider how one is married with children and relatively wealthy, the other is married to a wartime bride he hardly knew and works a lower-class job, and one is physically disabled from the war. What are things that have changed since they have been away and what are some of their barriers to doing what they want after serving their country? Does this film give a hopeful impression of the future for returning veterans and the United States?
Bigger Than Life (1956) is a film about a man having a crisis and whose medicine for a rare illness becomes an addiction in the setting of 1950s suburbia. It seems that the pressures of maintaining an image of success and inability to obtain that image are what drives him to addiction. Write an analysis of how the film presents the 1950s. What are the differences between the image of the “fabulous fifties” advertised with the realities as presented in the film. Consider the following questions when writing your analysis: How does the film present American suburban life? Why is the main character Ed not satisfied with his life when he seems to have everything that 1950s society advertised for happiness? What do the pills do that makes Ed feel better and how is this related to the “organization man” complacency of the time? Do you think the film is supporting or indicting the image of the happy American suburban family life of the 1950s?
Advise and Consent (1962) is a film about political intrigue that was advertised as being “ripped straight from the headlines.” Analyze the films depiction of American politics in the early 1960s and describe how it depicts certain political movements and ideologies of the time. Consider these questions in your analysis. How does the depict the influence of the Red and Lavender Scares. How does the Red Scare and the fear of looking soft to the Soviet Union affect certain congressmen’s views? For example, Leftingwell being asked if he is an “egghead” or how he would negotiate with the Soviet Union? How is the fear of homosexual inversion or being found out? What overall impression does the film give of the American government? Use scenes and characters from the film to bolster your answers.

1. In this week’s Webtext, you learned about the 5 types of people you should include in your own professional network (mentor, industry insider, connector, idealist, and realist). Review these 5 types, then pick 2 types you’d like to add to your own confidence crew. Using strategies you’ve learned from the tips in the Webtext, explain how you will go about adding these professionals to your crew.
Then, respond to one or more of your peers by suggesting an approach they can use to add more professionals to their own crew. Review page 9.5 in the webtext for example strategies
2.Imagine you’re mentoring one of the people in the scenario below who is experiencing a stressful situation in the workplace. Explain how using one of Queen Latifah’s strategies (either reaching out to others or time management) can help the person you are mentoring rise above their stress.
Ashlee and James both work together in accounting and are each responsible for half of an extensive presentation. Ashlee tries to work on the presentation a little each day, while James tends to wait until the last minute to turn in his portions of the project. But, because they rely on each other for certain tasks, Ashlee is often forced to wait for James and then rush to complete her assignments.
Ashlee complains that James’ procrastination is causing her to worry about his work as well as her own and is giving her unnecessary stress. Likewise, James is stressed by Ashlee’s anger and constant hovering. Because of the conflict, James is missing more work, and you suspect it’s because he wants to avoid Ashlee.
How can you help either Ashlee or James rise above their stress using one of the two strategies?

RE: Week 9 Discussion
In this week’s Webtext, you learned about the 5 types of people you should include in your own professional network (mentor, industry insider, connector, idealist, and realist). Review these 5 types, then pick 2 types you’d like to add to your own confidence crew. Using strategies you’ve learned from the tips in the Webtext, explain how you will go about adding these professionals to your crew.
Good morning,
The two types of people that I chose to add to my confidence crew would be the connector and the industry insider. I chose these two types of people because I’m currently lacking these two in my “crew”. I would love to know someone who has connections within the fashion industry and someone who has been in the industry for a long time, that can give me valuable advice on how I can get noticed and how I can make an impact. The fashion industry is very competitive, so knowing people like that would be priceless. I really feel like they would help me to realize my dream.
The perfect way to add these professionals to my crew would be to attend networking events, as well as connect to them through social media and the internet. I know that Linkedin and Facebook are great ways to do just that. Nowadays, it is so easy to meet new people through social media, and I love it.

As you have learned in this unit there are many causes of pelvic pain. Select one of the causes of pelvic pain and describe the symptoms. Why and who would you refer this patient to for consultation? What are the steps to writing a referral and what is the NP’s responsibility for follow up?
Question #2
Chronic pelvic pain can be defined as intermittent or constant pain in the lower abdomen or pelvis of a woman of at least 6 months in duration, not occurring exclusively with menstruation or intercourse and not associated with pregnancy. Grand Canyon University Competitive Advantage Discussion Response Writing Assignment Help
Initial question:
Select an organization and discuss their competitive advantage in the context of value chain?
My response:
Competitive advantage refers to the conditions that set a company at par in terms of the quality of goods or services they offer. Some companies do significantly better than others at providing the same services as others, and this boils down to their strategies and the quality of their services. One such company is Apple. Despite there being so many technology companies, Apple stands out. It is one of the big four technology companies that includes Facebook, Google, and Amazon. Apple stands out because of its unique and quality design, brilliance in advertising, and the ability to think differently.
The one factor that makes Apple different from its competitors is its design expertise. As said by former Apple executive Tony Fadell the company has got great design principles. They aim at providing what other companies can’t. In simple terms, they are always one step ahead of their competitors when it comes to design. In his Stanford commencement speech, Steve talked about his love for calligraphy and how it inspired his thoughts about design. Steve passed on his passion to his employees and embedded the design DNA into them (Li, 2016). When it comes to design, Apple always thinks outside the box and provides what other companies can’t. They always focus on making technology better than it is by involving all the stakeholders (Thomke & Feinberg, 2009).
Another competitive advantage that Apple has is its brilliance in advertising. Most companies rely on advertising either on social media or television, but apple has invested in influencers. Instead of telling people how good their product is, they give the influential people experience so that they could market them to their followers. Apple is also self-sufficient. It owns its software, applications, and the operating system, all combined with their cloud architecture. The uniqueness in the way apple operates sets them apart with other companies.. This makes it the best in what it does as a company.
Respond to classmate response below:
Apple sure does have a competitive advantage and I think the main reason is because of their connectivity. Apple started out with Ipods and they made them so that they would only work on their proprietary software, Itunes. Apple has stuck with this model as they tackled the personal computer, laptop and cell phone industries. Apples products are all very interactive with each other and all extremely non interactive with other companies products. This is a huge part of their value chain and it is no coincidence. Apple does this on purpose as it creates for more sales.
Thanks

Harvard University History & Political Phase of Britain Empire Questions Humanities Assignment Help
Hi there,
Please answer each of the following questions with a short essay (at least 300 words, so roughly 900 words in total). Your answers should fully address each question, but they needn’t incorporate every detail from the notes and texts. Instead, you should carefully choose appropriate and compelling examples for each of essays. So long as you explain why your chosen examples are relevant and necessary to the essay, you should be fine. I strongly encourage you to use evidence from the texts and lectures, including primary source evidence.
Every example should be cited carefully. You may use any of the major citation methods (MLA, Chicago, APA) so long as you are correct and consistent throughout.
These essays should be formal in tone. Write as though you are explaining these concepts and developments to someone who is NOT an expert in these fields. Include necessary explanatory details and background information. Use third-person point-of-view. Be careful of grammar throughout.
You must work alone and are strongly discouraged from using internet or other sources to answer these questions. You have everything you need in lecture notes and textbook readings to address these questions fully. Any evidence of cheating will be considered carefully and likely result in a failing grade for the assignment.
Answer each of the questions below:

Heidari Incorporated Turbine Manufacturing Facility Executive Summary Humanities Assignment Help
Hi! you did the meeting minutes 3 for me and i would like you to continue on my final Executive summary please. And i have uploaded everything for you the requirements and and examples of the revision from two of my classmates. However, you can use the resources in the examples that i have uploaded. And my formatting style is MLA
Problem Description
Your client, Heidari, Incorporated, is going to build a new wind turbine manufacturing facility. Heidari, Inc. is a multinational corporation based in Des Moines, Iowa United States. The budget for completing the facility and purchasing and installing the machinery is estimated to be $3.9 million (assume $3 million for the facility and $900,000 for machinery). It will have a net annual income cash flow of $850,000 for the next 10 years (gross income before taxes). Initially, they were planning to locate the facility near their US headquarters location where their total incremental tax rate would be 33% (21% Federal and 12% State). However, they have been approached by the Danish government and want to evaluate the option of building the facility in Denmark against their original plan of building in the US. Assume that the interest rate is 8% per year (or MARR for both countries). You will need to research tax methods and depreciation rules in Denmark and compare with those of the US.
Your consulting firm, [Your name] Consulting, has been hired to complete an evaluation and make a recommendation for where to build the plant. As part of your initial engineering economic analysis for this problem, you must examine global political, environmental, and social considerations that contribute to responsible and ethical engineering problem-solving, and that might affect Heidari’s reputation and the operation and profitability of the plant.
Additionally, you will complete a financial analysis using a calculation of the after-tax present worth of adding the new manufacturing facility in each of the two countries (Denmark and the United States). You will need to research tax methods and depreciation rules in Denmark and compare what you find with those of the US. Use these results to recommend where to make the investment.
The final step of your project will be to write an Executive Summary. You will make a recommendation for plant location, and you will justify your recommendation using the cultural/social, political, environmental, and economic research and analysis that you conducted throughout the semester.

Ryerson University Timing and Relevance in Postmodern Narratives Research Humanities Assignment Help
You are asked under-take original research into the history and theory of interiors. This means that you search for sources in the subject area that are from a particular point in time and constitute first-hand or “immediate” texts written by historical actors in the context of time and place. Once you have found a text, your task is to read it carefully and closely and then to offer analysis of it. The analysis turns on asking questions of the text (What is its purpose? What were the circumstances of its creation? What is it saying to its audience? And what are its implications in the context of the creation of interiors). Your essay must be a work of criticism and interpretation (informed, sustained and substantiated).

MKTG630 Colorado Technical University Mobile Marketing Discussion Writing Assignment Help
PART A 400-600 words with citations and references APA Format
Now that you’ve analyzed the environmental situation and established who is in the target market, it is time for product development. Product design is crucial because new products are being introduced every day. So, while other people focus on that aspect of development, you turn your attention to branding.
Primary Task Response: Within the Discussion Board area, write 400-600 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.
This morning, walking into the office, you greet Michelle who says, “I’d like to meet with you tomorrow to develop the branding strategy for the new product. Let’s meet for a working lunch and brainstorming session.” “That sounds great,” you reply. “I’ll schedule the meeting and order in lunch.”
Entering your office, you begin to think about the items that you will be discussing during tomorrow’s meeting with Michelle.
We haven’t even come up with a product name yet, you think. We also need to work on an advertising slogan or tag line. You know that Michelle has an extensive background in marketing, but you really want to make a good impression and bring a sound branding strategy to the meeting. How are we going to distinguish our product from our competitors? What are the benefits that we are going to highlight in our brand that will meet the needs or wants of our target customers?
You create the following list of items that you need to address:
Identify in one sentence your overall branding strategy or brand image you want to achieve in the mind of your target segment.
- Product name
- Advertising slogan or tag line
- Product attributes
- Product benefits
PART B
1-2 pages with a cover letter and reference page APA Format
Michelle has asked you to send her a memo that explains the target market for MM’s new product. Because a global market is under consideration, she wants you and Elena to meet for an in-depth discussion of the different characteristics of your target market before sending her the information.
Elena meets you for coffee the next morning to explain her reasons for advocating the global market. As you finish your discussion, Elena stops and says,
“We’ve discussed a lot of different market segments to target with the new product, but the choice comes back to you,” says Elena. “What’s your final decision on the target market that we should focus on? Are you going to propose that we try to market this product globally?
You sigh, knowing this is a key decision in your marketing strategy. “I appreciate our discussion today. I’m going to have to do some more research to determine the exact market and if we should go global or not.”
You know Michelle is expecting a detailed description of your targeted market segment including justification for selecting the market. You also need to remember to include your recommendation for or against marketing globally.
- What are the demographic characteristics of your target market and why are they important?
- Where is your target market located geographically and why is that important?
- What psychographic characteristics define your target market? How do these impact your marketing strategy?
- What behavioral characteristics are shared by your target market? Why are these important?
