5 References Guidelines

Ecology Discussion

Due: 02/19

The goal of this assignment is to summarize the key points of your 5 chosen scientific resources (e.g., journal articles) using google scholar and to explain how each one is applicable to your research paper topic. [My research paper will be on CLIMATE CHANGE-CHAPARRAL FORESTS]

Details on finding and citing appropriate literature are in the Literature Searching and Citations Guidelines (attached below).

For each of your 5 sources you should first include the full reference (use Ecology formatting), followed by a short paragraph that should include the goal of the article (1 sentence), the applicable findings of the article (2-3 sentences), and how the article will fit into your research paper (1-2 sentences). You will be graded on content, length, and correct citation format using Ecology formatting. Remember: the summaries should be in your own words and should not contain any quotes.

Below is an example reference that would receive full credit:

Finkelstein, M. E., S. Wolf, M. Goldman, D.F. Doak, P.R. Sievert, G. Balogh, and H. Hasegawa. 2010. The anatomy of a (potential) disaster: Volcanoes, behavior, and population viability of the short-tailed albatross (Phoebastria albatrus). Biological Conservation 143:321-331.

This article uses a population viability analysis to examine threats to an endangered seabird, the short-tailed albatross (Phoebastria albatrus). The authors explore how a natural disaster, like a volcano eruption, would affect the small population of short-tailed albatrosses on their breeding islands. They then compare these effects with the measured impact of a 1% annual increase in population mortality due to human activities, like bycatch. I can use this paper to show how overharvesting marine fish populations can have unintended effects on the conservation of other marine species.

I attached an example for this assignment of a previous student that you can use to have an idea on how it looks like.

COM 102 Moraine Valley College Guests of Nation Plot Analysis Paper Writing Assignment Help

Ill send the pages of the story only 8 pages to read, then analyze plot.
analyze the plot of “Guests of the Nation” in terms of its exposition, complication, crisis, falling action, and denoument.

This will be a short analytical paper, so what’s being asked for is NOT a mere plot summary but a paper showing an awareness of how the plot elements relate to one another, or of how each grows out of, or is prepared for by, the one before it.

If you quote from the story, enclose any words from the story within quotation marks (“…”), give a parenthetical reference giving the author’s last name and the page number from which you took the words; for example (O’Connor 53). Notice that if the reference falls at the end of a sentence, the period comes after the closing parenthesis.

If you use quotes, set up a Works Cited page at the end of the paper, and give a full Works Cited entry of this form, taken from the Purdue University Online Writing Lab:

Last name, First name. “Title of Essay.” Title of Collection, edited by Editor’s Name(s), Publisher, Year, Page range of entry.

For example: Harris, Muriel. “Talk to Me: Engaging Reluctant Writers.” A Tutor’s Guide: Helping Writers One to One, edited by Ben Rafoth, Heinemann, 2000, pp. 24-34.

Your task will be to include the same information, in the same format, about “Guests of the Nation,” the story to be read for this assignment.

If you don’t use quotes, do the exercise anyway as it will serve as a beginning review of (or perhaps an introduction to) the MLA documentation style you’ll be using later this semester.

CLASSMATE POST #1

Utilizing Patient portals has become increasingly useful for large healthcare systems in current times. Patient portals allow patients the ability to set up and manage appointments as well as access their medical records. Patient portals allow patients access to their medical tests results in real time and give patients the ability to ask questions in the form of a chat or email about those results to their healthcare providers. Providers can use patient portals to communicate with patients and manage prescriptions. As these portals have become more and more advanced they have developed the ability to be implemented into phone applications that streamline and make accessing this information even easier. Patient portals have been widely adopted by large healthcare systems that can support the infrastructure required to operate and maintain these online platforms. Clinical decision support systems were developed in order to help healthcare providers make better informed clinical decisions. CDS analyze and gather information that can then be used to implement new clinical pathways that will aid care teams in the management and prediction of disease processes and improve patients outcomes. Information such as past drug interactions can be analyzed and studied in order to prevent the same events from occurring in the future. While patient portals aim at creating a bridge between the healthcare team and the patient. Clinical decisions support systems aim at connecting healthcare providers in order to analyze and improve patient outcomes. One can make the connection that patient portals connect the patient to the institution and CDS connect institutions with each other. Both can and are used within large healthcare systems so that communication and the sharing of information is streamlined. Both of these would be vital to any new organization. As they would both improve communication and improve patient outcomes.

~Christian Lambrey Perez

CLASSMATE POST #2

I decided to do a little research on the Practice management software and Kareo. Both systems have a billing software that tracks the patient’s medical bills and verify their insurance. They have the capability of the clinical jobs to help the process easier for the patients and clinicians especially when it comes to admin part.

The differences between these two system is that Kareo has tools that includes EHRs, marketing, practice management and even patient engagement. Practice management involves documentation of the patient’s diagnosis and all the procedure codes as well as scheduling the patients for their appointment.

I think both systems would be best for clinical sites or private practice but when it comes to an organization who is looking on investing a new system it will be up to them to decide on what goal would they be wanting to achieve on their end.

Thanks,

Jhosie

CLASSMATE POST #3

This week, the discussion is about incentive programs revolving around Promoting Interoperability, also known as Meaningful Use. Promoting interoperability is a program that supports hospitals and providers to obtain and use an EHR meaningfully (HealthIT.gov, 2019). When EHRs were new, I think that programs like promoting interoperability were essential in getting hospitals and doctors to switch to them and use them. The benefits of these programs are still in effect today. Benefits include improving quality and safety, improving the healthcare experience, reducing medical mistakes, and, most importantly promotes privacy and safety (“Benefits of Promoting Interoperability,” 2021). I think the meaningful us program is still essential today; however, its implementation is virtually gone. We are now ten years after stage one began, and I wonder if the program is necessary anymore. The biggest question I have is if providers and hospitals would still support the use of EHRs if the money from these programs dried up. Would they revert or find less value in these EHRs if there were no incentives? I think the majority would probably continue their use. You always have the people that refuse to do or continue anything without being paid to do it. It would be an interesting experiment to conduct.

~Chad Welsh~

CLASSMATE POST #4

I think when employees strive to reach performance incentive they will often make an effort to improve their skills. Weather they gain this skill through experience or maybe taking advantage while training they had in the programs. I think that development can make their jobs more effectively and put themselves in a better position to reach performance jobs. The organization of this process can be a huge benefit and can also strengthen the candidate with and succession situations also preparing for a high potential employee even when there may not be an immediate opportunity for advancement think that

It can discourage them from seeking another position elsewhere/It is typically new employees with good opportunities when they believe they are unappreciated. Since incentive programs r reward performance in tangible terms, these employees are more likely to remain motivated and very engaged in their work, and loyal to their employees.

I think that it is incentives can sometimes get out of control When employees can find that their current level of performance is not sufficed to achieve incentive milestones. In these cases, the positive incentive may become a negative incentive as an employee. They can look for ways to make their performance appear to be good even though their actual results are not aligned with incentive target. For example, this occurred at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Health Care System in the year 2014 in a VA hospital managers developed an elaborate scheme to falsify patients for more than 1400 of them

MTKG 530 Indiana Wesleyan Univ What Are the Best App Marketing Strategies Discussion Other Assignment Help

Please see the below instructions. A least 250 words not including reference. I have attached a peer report to review. Use market analysis report template and follow all instructions.

  1. Review the rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade.
  2. Review the pricing, promotion, and distribution report from your peer as submitted to the 4.3 Discussion.
  3. You will need to do appropriate research on the industry and category so that you understand them in order to make an educated analysis and recommendation for this section of the consultant’s report. It is important to start out with a thorough understanding of the category and industry. You should not rely on the original writer’s research and description of the industry.
  4. You will provide a 250- to 350-word review to your peer as a post in the discussion forum. Your review must provide a different or alternative perspective, interpretation, conclusion, and/or recommendation for at least one (1) of the six (6) elements noted in the assignment (these should be the 6 titled sections from the Market Analysis Report Template), based on your personal objective analysis of the category using credible sources. You do not need to have an alternative for all six elements of the assignment, but your alternative may involve more than one element since many of them are related.
  5. You will not discuss the original writer’s analysis or recommendation; all of your comments must be focused on your objective interpretation and analysis. You must have a distinctly different perspective and/or recommendation in your alternative response. In other words, you are looking at the same scenario in the same industry and/or category, but you are coming to a different conclusion such that any form of “I agree” in your review is not an option.
  6. You must cite at least two credible sources that were not used by the original writer to support your interpretation and recommendation.
  7. Cite your work per current APA standards, however, indenting of the references is not required due to the discussion board format. (See OCLS APA Writing Styles Guides)
  8. Post your initial proposal into the discussion forum as a post, not as an attached file.
  9. Your grading is based in large part on your critical thinking as demonstrated in providing a different interpretation, conclusion, and recommendation. Because your peer is expecting this assistance on time to improve his or her report, late peer postings will have a penalty of 10% per day (6.5 points) for up to 5 days and may not be submitted for points after 5 days. This late penalty cannot be waived by the instructor.
