that you chose in Assignment 1.Â

Note: You may create and / or make all necessary assumptions
needed for the completion of these assignments.

Using the scenario from Assignment 1, write a six to seven
(6-7) page paper in which you:

Identify three (3) job requirements (e.g., needed
certifications, previous work experience, external influences, etc.) that could
apply to your chosen scenario. Determine two (2) ways these requirements could
impact staffing at your organization. Next, suggest one (1) strategy that you
could utilize to ensure that all applicants meet the identified job
requirements for your organization. Justify your response.

Outline a long-term recruitment plan that contains at least
four (4) components, is aligned with your company’s recruitment strategy, but
also addresses possible job skill or credential shortages. Note: Consider
concepts such as succession planning and hiring retirees.Â

Describe three (3) branding strategies that you would employ
to attract qualified applicants to your organization. Next, suggest three (3)
communication methods that you would utilize to reach out to applicants. Predict
the outcome of integrating your branding strategies and communication methods
at your organization. Provide a rationale for your response.

Determine two (2) selection processes for recruiting new
employees that could apply to your chosen scenario and then identify five (5)
selection criteria that you could use when hiring new employees. Next, analyze
the effect of the five (5) identified selection criteria on long-term employee
retention and preservation of organizational knowledge. Justify your response.

Suggest two (2) assessment methods that you could employ to
select new employees for your organization and then analyze the validity and
reliability of each method in regards to the job your organization is offering.
Next, identify four (4) job predictors that you believe can assess
candidates’ knowledge, skills, abilities, and other skills and experiences
(KSAO’s). Provide support for your rationale.

After reading the article and watching the video, technically, what Ford’s top management decided to do was indeed illegal because the contemporary U.S. legislation introduced minimal safety requirements that every vehicle sold in the U.S. had to meet. Specifically, every vehicle had to be designed in such a way that its fuel tank could remain intact even upon the impact at a speed of 20 miles per hour or less. Nevertheless, Ford’s Pinto model did not pass this crash test, but the company still began manufacturing the product despite being aware of the potentially deadly flaw. Ford’s actions can be considered unacceptable from the point of view of most ethical theories. Indeed, Ford could be condemned from positions of Kantianism because the company demonstrated neglect towards human life and deceived consumers by not informing them about the car’s dangerousness. In a similar fashion, Ford’s actions were not consistent with principles of Utilitarianism because protecting human life and health, as the ultimate good, did not require unreasonable costs.

Since Ford’s shareholders were not particularly concerned about human life, I would advocate the decision to fix the Pinto model design by referring to ethical framework suggested by Friedman. According to UFP News (2012), Friedman believed that a certain act could be considered permissible as long its benefits outweighed costs (including the risk of any damage). I could urge Ford’s shareholders to apply the same approach and compare benefits and cost of not fixing the Pinto Model. Specifically, I would pay their attention to the fact that the amount of money saved would be minimal while costs, especially, in the long-term perspective could be enormous. Indeed, the company could risk facing heavy penalties for violating federal legislation and be forced to pay fines and compensations to numerous plaintiffs in likely civil lawsuits. Furthermore, I would emphasize that the company’s reputation could be severely damaged by its deliberate violation of federal legislation and a failure to warn buyers. Scenario: The Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) has been in effect since 2002 and has cost businesses millions of dollars in personnel and administrative costs. Your company is in the process of “going public,” has underwritten its Initial Public Offering (IPO), and filed its registration statement with the Securities Exchange Commission. Your current executive team has asked you to create a plan ensuring SOX compliance is followed once you become a publicly traded company.

Review the pertinent sections of The Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) Act. For purposes of this proposal to the board, only concern yourself with the compliance provisions of SOX (Sections 302, 401, 404, 409, and 802).

Create a maximum 1,050-word proposal to the board outling the compliance project necessary to implement SOX.
