Institutional Economics Perspective of Radicalism Annotated Bibliography Humanities Assignment Help

For this topic in your initial post, summarize how the respective political economic school of thought perceives the issue (chosen from one of the issues from Chapters 10-12) and consider current policies (not limited to the United States BUT you must be able to cite a source in all cases) within Lowi’s typology (distributive, regulatory, self-regulatory, and distributive). List one policy for each category although if you cannot think of a self-regulatory policy that is fine. Remember that the policies listed MUST be consistent with the political economic theory. NOTE: Since the typology was developed using modern liberal/conservative policies for the most part you could include contemporary policies that radicalism would be opposed to but you would need to clarify why.

BIOL 1103E Waldorf University Worst Food in America Report Science Assignment Help

make sure to cover all the 5 steps below

the paper draft should be minimum 500 words

Worst food in America Project

On a night out with your friends, scanning the menu options at your local Mexican restaurant, you think, “I’m going to be healthy tonight and order a salad.” Think again. Depending on the salad, you might save more calories by ordering a Big Mac, Fries, and a chocolate shake. Some taco salads pack as many calories you should consume in an entire day, as much saturated fat as 38 strips of bacon and the sodium equivalent of 16 orders of McDonalds French fries. No big deal, you can walk it off on the treadmill later. It’ll only take 16 miles of walking!

This project is designed to help you analyze the foods that you are eating.

STEP 1: FIND A WORST FOOD ITEM AND ANALYZE ITS NUTRITIONAL CONTENT

  • The quick Internet search that we all did in the beginning of the Foods and Nutrition module should have helped you identify an example of an unhealthy food.
  • You will need to determine the nutritional content of your food. Search online for “nutrient facts,” or “nutrition information [insert your favorite fast food restaurant name or food here]” to help identify food labels and ingredient information.
  • Evaluate the nutritional information on the label for your food using the “Reading Nutrition Labels” or Calculating Calories” readings to identify the calories, number of grams of fat, carbohydrates like sugar, salt, and proteins and determine the quantities of different types of fats and carbohydrates. You can also refer to the background content on the different types of lipids, carbohydrates and proteins in our text readings.

Step 2: Construct a scientific argument concerning the health effects of your worst food item

  • Think about the description of the taco salad from above. Did it work to convince you not to eat the food? What was most convincing to you? What (if any) source of evidence was used to support the claim that the food was unhealthy?
  • Now, look at your food item. Determine exactly what characteristics about the level of macromolecules found in your food item would support the claim that it is not a health choice. Focus on one or two specific problem such as trans fats or sodium. Now, articulate your claim that these characteristics make it a worst food.
  • Conduct an Internet search for evidence that supports or refutes your claim. Begin with a search for tertiary sites like magazines (Scientific American, Discover, American Scientist) and government sites. Then proceed to searching for scientific studies such as primary research articles as well as secondary reviews. Typing “googlescholar” or “PubMed” in your browser will help you locate search engines that are more appropriate for narrowing your sources of evidence. You will need to find 5 highly reliable sources of evidence that support your claim. Use the information on evaluating sources of evidence found in the Distinguishing Science Bunk from Science module.
  • Submit your claim and the sources of evidence that you have uncovered using the google sheet link from the Distinguishing Science Bunk from Science module. Use the sheet to enter your claim and organize your referenced pieces of evidence into a cohesive argument that will be submitted to your instructor for feedback.
  • Once you have your instructor feedback you may need to search for additional references or revise your overall argument statement.

Step 3: Create a graphic visual for this project:

  • Examples of graphic elements could include (but are not limited to):
    • a figure that describes part of a research study designed to test the health claims about consumption of a specific macromolecule. Check to be sure your graphs or figures are complete with titles, axis titles, etc. If you use images from online, be sure to mention what you changed from the originally posted figure and why you did so in your discussion of the figure.
    • a diagram that helps visualize the caloric, fat, sugar or salt equivalents in your food item by comparing them to some commonly known foods like Fast food fries or donuts.
  • You must include a figure legend that provides your warrant (i.e. your reasoning through a valid scientific argument to explain the evidence and why it supports the claim, reviewed in the Distinguishing Science Bunk From Science Module). Please include a title for your figure that clearly expresses the claim and provide enough detail so that the reader is clear on the sources of your information and how you know your evidence is valid.

STEP 4: CONSTRUCT A FINISHED 2-PAGE ROUGH DRAFT OF YOUR WORST FOOD GRAPHIC.

  • Revise your references and the general scientific argument that you entered into the Activity Tool for evaluating claims to write the text portion of your project.
  • Using the general project rubric as a guide, combine this text with your graphic in a visually-appealing manner.
  • Your project should make a clear recommendation or conclusion based on your reasoning.
  • Try to keep your total project length to 2 pages, you can put your main text and graphic on one page and then your references and reflection on the second page.
  • View the Project Rubric (pdf)
  • Submit your first draft to your instructor. You will receive feedback within a few days.

Post 1:

Addressing Sexism in Counseling

According to Hays and Erford (2018, pg. 128) “sexism is a system of oppression based on sex, gender identity, and gender expression; many have defined sexism as a system in which men hold privilege and women do not.” Gender messages are sent from the beginning of childhood and throughout adulthood. Many cultures hold gender stereotypes and gender roles are assigned in families where women or girls are often marginalized and expected to carry an unequal amount of duties to care for the family. Sexism is still prominent in the workforce even after various laws, policies and regulations have been put into place to protect individuals.

Women who serve in the military are exposed to internalized and covert sexism on a regular basis. While women are accepted and able to serve, the concept of women going to war is not widely accepted. As a retired female veteran, women either had to prove themselves worthy or received special treatment due to gender stereotypes where they either conformed or become ostracized. The ratio of women to men in the military is extremely low making them more susceptible to abuse with little protection, particularly if the work environment was predominantly male. Some examples of sexism displayed in the military are: young female recruits being referred to as “fresh meat,” singing songs during marches that sexualized or degraded women, undesirable duties or tasks assigned to only women in the workplace or bullying/targeting. Women are met with a variety of inappropriate behaviors such as staring, unwanted advances and an abuse of power by their superiors; deployed work environments are notably worse.

Gender sensitive counselors must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to assist clients who have experienced different degrees of sexism. Counselor awareness regarding their own views of gender and exploring the client’s worldview of gender issues is the first step (Hays & Erford, 2018). Some factors to consider for effective counseling is client-counselor match, exploration of racial and cultural differences and communication styles (Hays & Erford, 2018). Expanding on gender role expectations, how women perceive themselves and societal stressors can help clients develop a healthy and accurate sense of self. Sexism, in the form of oppression, is not a biblical concept and scriptures are often misinterpreted or misused, highlighting sexism in the church that have been used to enforce submission.

While God has specific commands for women, many women characterized in the bible are highly regarded for their faithfulness and virtues. One of the greatest women of all birthed Jesus through the immaculate conception. Mary Magdalene was one of the first to discover Jesus risen from the dead. Genesis 2:18 (New International Version) says, “it is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” God saw the value in creating a companion for man. Women are also created in God’s image and women of God have an equal inheritance to the His kingdom.

LGBTQI in Counseling

COLLAPSE

As a future career in the human service profession, it is important that we implement multicultural counseling into who we are as counselors. When you choose to go into a counseling career or any career where you are with other members of your community, you will be working with so many different identities. From the time a human is born, gender socialization starts occurring, for example, when a baby is assigned “male” or “female” (Hays & Erford, 2018). A challenge that some have been faced is that societal gender socialization does not account for binary categories (Hays & Erford, 2018).

Where in the past, homosexuality was considered a mental illness, it is no longer identified as such. While society and institutions have been slow to improve, about 55% of Americans support same-sex marriage (Hays & Erford, 2018).

ALGBTIC, The Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues in Counseling advocates to promote awareness of issues in counseling and to improve counseling services (Hays & Erford, 2018).As a counselor, you should increase your knowledge in LGBTQI so you can better help clients who identify as such.If you choose to showcase your advocacy on LGBTQI, there are a few ways you can do so.According to Hays and Erford (2018), you can have a “safe zone” sticker, provide literature on LGBTQ concerns, and include inclusive language that is stigma-free, such as “partners” rather than husband or wife when communicating with your clients (Hays & Erford, 2018).

As a counselor, it is not your job or responsibility to judge or criticize someone who does not believe the same beliefs as you.Regardless if you agree or disagree with LGBTQI, your client should not be able to recognize your stance on the matter. As a counselor, you are there to support and help your client to the best of your ability.Matthew 7:1-2 reads, “Do not judge, or you to will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you”.

The Individual Risk Management Plan is due by the end of Week 4 and should be 10 to 15 pages long without counting cover page, reference page, or appendix.

The Individual Risk Management Plan will be graded on quality of research topic, quality of paper information, use of citations, grammar, and sentence structure. Papers must be in 12-point font, double-spaced, and must include a cover page, table of contents, introduction, body of the report, summary or conclusion, and works cited. All DeVry University policies are in effect, including the plagiarism policy.

Even though this is not a scientific-type writing assignment, and is mostly creative in nature, references are still very important. At least six authoritative, outside reference citations are required in APA format (anonymous authors or web pages are not acceptable). These should be listed on the last page, titled References.

Any questions about this paper may be discussed in the Course Q & A Forum.

If you are confident in your project selection and feel that you will not have any problems creating the deliverables mentioned below, you are not required to submit your project idea to your professor or obtain approval to proceed.

The Individual Risk Management Plan for your project must apply risk management processes learned from both of your textbooks, describing how risk management activities will be structured and performed. The document may include the following points:

  1. Risk Strategy: Describes the general approach to managing risk on your selected project.
  2. Methodology: Define the specific approaches, tools and data sources that will be used to perform risk management on the project.
  3. Roles and Responsibilities: Defines the lead, support and risk management team members that may be required for each type of activity described in the RMP and clarifies their responsibilities.

You will create Individual Risk Management Plan for a project of interest to you, defining how to conduct risk management activities for the project. When selecting a project, avoid picking one that is either too big or too small. For example, do not decide to build a new stadium for your local sports team (too big) or to plant your summer garden (too small). For this course, you should select a project that has 4 to 6 milestones with 15 to 25 tasks or activities in total. If you have any questions about the suitability of your project selection, please follow-up with your professor for his or her guidance.

  4. Funding: Identifies the funds needed to perform activities related to Project Risk Management. Establishes protocols for the application of contingency and management reserves.
  5. Timing: Defines when and how Project Risk Management processes will be performed throughout the project life cycle and establishes risk management activities for inclusion into the project schedule.
  6. Risk Categories: Provide a means for grouping individual project risks.
  7. Stakeholder Risk Appetite: An expression of measurable risk thresholds that provide the level of overall acceptable project risk exposure.
  8. Probability and Impact: Definitions of probability and impact levels for both negative and positive risks.
  9. Reporting Formats: Define how the outcomes of the Project Risk Management process will be documented, analyzed and communicated.
  10. Tracking: How risk activities will be recorded and how the Risk Management process will be audited.
