1. Amok: Known in Malaysia; similar patterns may occur elsewhere. Amok is a sudden rage in which an otherwise normal person goes berserk, sometimes hurting those in his path. Brooding is followed by a violent outburst; it is often precipitated by a slight or insult. The symptoms seem to be prevalent among men. It was well known to the British colonial rulers of Malaysia and has therefore passed into the English language, “running amok.” Cases of amok are still reported today in Malaysian newspapers.

University of the Cumberlands Emerging Threats and Countermeasures Report Writing Assignment Help
This assignment will be one of several throughout the Ph.D. program that we use to help you prepare for the dissertation process. One of the core competencies necessary to succeed in a doctoral program is the ability to identify other research that pertains to your own. This means you’ll have to identify related research, read the papers, and assimilate prior work into your research. An Annotated Bibliography Bibliography helps you develop and hone these research skills.
The paper must be in a correct APA format, use correct grammar, and will need to include at least five (5) resources, ALL of which must:
1) Be current. Published within the last few years.
2) Be peer-reviewed.
3) Relate directly to defense in depth in the context of protecting National Infrastructure.
Remember that an annotation is not the same as an abstract. Abstracts are descriptive. Your annotations are to be evaluative and critical. Give me enough information for me to decide if I’m interested enough to read the paper, and also how you perceive the paper. Do not go skimpy on these annotations, but DO NOT write too much here. Quality is far more critical than quantity. This exercise is for each of you to demonstrate that you can identify, categorize, and digest multiple research papers.
The resources you choose must be peer-reviewed. That means the paper must have undergone a formal peer review before being published in a journal or presented at a conference. You must ensure that your resources have undergone rigorous reviews. In most cases, you can find out the review process for a conference or journal by visiting the appropriate web site. Do not merely assume that a resource is peer-reviewed – check it out.

CIO Organization Assessment Business Finance Assignment Help
Should be 4 full pages double spaced
No plagiarism!!!
You will develop a memorandum addressed to the CFO that explains how you want to change your IT Department into a CIO organization and why.Your memo will address each of the topics listed below, and should be written so that it flows well from one section to the next.In addition to the course materials, at least one external resource (resource other than those provided in the class) must be used. Two or more cited references will earn top credit. Use a separate References page to list just the references you have cited.Remember to use the APA formatting rules and correctly cite and reference your sources with APA format.Use the Grading Rubric to be sure you have covered everything.
Please include the following in your memorandum, ensuring that each section flows well to the next, and that the overall memo creates a compelling justification for your new organizational structure.
- Introduction and Purpose – Open your memo with a brief (2 or 3 sentences) explanation of why you are writing it.Provide some background on the current inefficiencies in the IT Department; thus, the need for reorganization.
- Leadership Philosophy – Since you are the CIO and a member of the senior leadership team of GGFRT, it is important for the other members of the team to understand your (1) leadership philosophy and (2) the management style you will use to meet the company’s needs. This should be a short paragraph that ties to the priorities and/or issues outlined in the Case Study, and lays the foundation for the organizational structure you will propose below.Refer to course readings and presentations on leadership. This is also a good area in which to do some external research for specific leadership qualities and a management style you will utilize.
- Internal IT Strategies – To show how your CIO organization will support GGFRT, you will present and explain three (3) internal IT strategies. For Part 2 of your IT Strategic Plan, you provided at least one (1) example of an internal IT strategy.Identify your internal IT strategy from the ITSP #2 assignment, then add two (2) more internal IT strategies, so that you have a total of three (3).The strategies you develop must address:people, process and technology – one strategy for each.Describe each of the three strategies, identify if they address people, process or technology and explain how they will help improve the organization’s effectiveness.Refer to the “Creating a Future Vision for the Chief Information Officer” from Week 2 for an explanation of internal and external (business-enabling) IT strategies.A short introductory paragraph should be included before the table’s content.
- Current IT Department Structure – Use the information provided in the Case Study to draw an organization chart depicting the current roles and responsibilities of only the 22 IT Department personnel. You may take some liberties in how you align the staff that is described in the Case Study, but all IT staff positions or groups must be included in the structure.Be sure to introduce or explain your organizational chart in the section’s introduction.Refer to course materials for an example of an IT organization chart. You may use the Shapes tool or the SmartArt tool to develop your organizational hierarchy chart, or you may paste in your chart from another drawing tool.
- New CIO Organization – Explain in a paragraph or two how a CIO Organization is different from an IT Department. Included should be the goals/responsibilities of an IT Department, a CIO Organization, then the differences between them. Integrate examples from the case study in your response.Be sure to create a transition from the previous section. This may be an area for you to do some external research (a reference should be provided for more credit).
- Key Services – List and explain three (3) key services (personnel, sub-departments of the CIO Organization) that need to be included in your new CIO organizational structure. You may eliminate functions or positions from your current organizational structure if you believe it will improve your effectiveness and/or efficiency; these should be explained. You should also add (and explain) any functions that you will need in your new CIO organization.Be sure these services are appropriate to your IT strategies (section #3) and note how each relates in your discussion.
- New CIO Organization Structure – Briefly explain what changes you will make and why.Draw an organization chart depicting your new CIO organizational structure.Be sure that the key services you listed are covered by the new organizational structure. (Follow the guidelines for drawing the organization chart given above for the current organization.)
- Key Milestones – Your memo should include three (3) key milestones (tasks or events) associated with accomplishing the changes that you see are needed to change the IT Department into a CIO organization. Each milestone should be briefly described (in a sentence or two) and a target completion date should be shown. In addition, for each milestone you should identify at least one issue or concern you have with accomplishing it.One example using a milestone not related to the organization might be:The milestone is to consolidate all servers into a new data center by Oct 2017.Some issues might be: (1) a secure data center must be located, (2) it will require significant downtime for the corporate servers, and (3) the initial cost will be high.An example related to the case study is presented below.

Brand Analysis Project Business Finance Assignment Help
Choose an industry (e.g. athletic footwear) and select three well-known brands (e.g. Nike, Adidas, Brooks).
- Provide an overview of the industry. What is the $ size of the market in the USA? Is it considered a high growth or slow growth market (percentage growth in dollar sales, unit sales, etc.)? What are the categories in the industry that are showing most growth (e.g. casual, retro), which are showing a decline (e.g. basketball, running). How many competitors are there? Who are the market leaders, and what is the market share for each of the three brands?
- Identify the key product attributes and benefits that the consumer uses to infer the value of each brand (e.g. price, comfort, durability, etc.). You should identify at least 5 attributes/benefits.
- Identify the key consumer segments in the industry and develop a profile for each segment (minimum of 4 segments, maximum of 7). What key product attributes and benefits does each segment prioritize?
- Develop multiattribute tables for three segments, using the information provided in section (3) above (you can make assumptions about the importance and evaluation numbers for each segment, it is not necessary to collect primary data). Hint: choose one segment that each brand targets (e.g. Nike – fashionistas, Adidas – soccer fans, Brooks – serious runners)
- Use the multiattbiute table to compare and contrast the three brands for these three segments:
- Identify the strengths and weaknesses for each brand.
- What is each brand’s POD and POP?
- What consumer segment(s) does each brand target?
- Articulate the positioning statement for each brand.
- Develop a perceptual map based on two key attributes/benefits and determine where the three brands and the key consumer segments are placed on this map. Provide a rationale for your assumptions (you can use some of the multiattribute table data to develop the perceptual map).
- Which of the three brands do you think has the best strategy? Which has the worst strategy? Why? What would you recommend each brand do to strengthen their position in the market?

Minimum Turnaround Time Exercises
In the workbook, there are 4 exercises that require you to estimate the elapsed time it will take the ground crew to unload, clean and reload the aircraft for its’ next flight(“turnaround time”). There are also several examples to help you understand how the sequence of ground servicing works during a turnaround.
Study the examples to learn what activities take place inside the aircraft and which activities are occurring outside of the aircraft. Think in terms of production line where various work is taking place simultaneously in different parts of the factory but all components have to come together to produce the final product.
One of the concepts you will have to consider in these exercises is that of simultaneous or “concurrent” activities. I recognize most, if not all, of the class has no airline experience which would help you to know which activities can be done simultaneously. However, I suspect most everyone has flown at some point so you have some idea of how the turnaround process works.
In concurrent, or simultaneous, work, think about which activities can be accomplished at the same time. As an example, passengers cannot deplane and enplane at the same time. Cargo cannot be unloaded and reloaded at the same time. However, the interior of the aircraft can be cleaned at the same time various activities are occurring outside of the aircraft (such as unloading cargo). Where concurrent activities become difficult to assess is in “grey” areas such as maintenance. If maintenance is taking place in the aircraft cabin, as an example (i.e., repairing a seat) then obviously passengers cannot board the aircraft for the departing flight. Similarly, if maintenance is taking place in the vicinity of a cargo compartment, the ground staff will have to wait until the maintenance is complete before the cargo can be loaded (or even unloaded, depending on the nature of the maintenance).
While I recognize you do not have specific knowledge about concurrent or simultaneous activities, I have included an area in the following answer grids for you to provide a short explanation of why you think an activity is concurrent or not. I brief explanation is sufficient. See the example explanations for the scope of what an acceptable response would be. During grading of these worksheets, the focus will be on your logic more than a correct or incorrect answer. I’m not looking for right or wrong answers versus how you viewed the concurrent or non-concurrent activities.
In each of the answer grids below, the assignment is to complete any of the boxes which are shaded in yellow, green or blue. The yellow cells are the primary data for each line item. The green cells will reflect the sum (or total) of the times for each of the major work areas (cabin interior, aircraft exterior, etc.). Finally, the blue cell is for your final answer as to the total turnaround time. Example exercise No. 1 in the workbook has been entered into the response grid below to help guide you in how to complete each worksheet. Refer to the Example in the Workbook to review how each number fits into the answer grid below.

comparison and contrast Humanities Assignment Help
Short Writing Assignment, Comparison of 5.2
The purpose of this assignment is to have you practice your close reading skills on Othello 5.2, and to learn how to isolate the interpretive angle of a Shakespearean performance.
1. REREAD Othello 5.2. You will need to have the scene very firmly in your memory before you move to the next step. Focus on such matters as imagery, tone, major speeches, and major actions. Pay especially close attention to how the script shapes our evolving understanding of Othello’s tragic actions. Before you view any scenes, jot down some notes about how you imagine this scene being played.
2. From the four performances of 5.2. Choose TWO performances to study. Watch each scene, and take some notes on how the scene is staged. Make those notes mostly about specifics. You might notice such matters as:
- the setting and lighting (which is often both realistic and symbolic)
- noteworthy camerawork or editing techniques
- major cuts to or rearrangements of the script
- Othello’s and Desdemona’s demeanor in their confrontation
- the handling of the murder
- Othello’s changing demeanor after the murder, and his attitude in his final suicide speech
- the performances of Iago and Emilia
- the final tableau (the images on which the viewer dwells at the end of the scene)
You may need to view each scene twice to pick up key details. After collecting specifics, think about how those specifics add up to a particular interpretive angle on the script. Give that interpretive angle a label.
3. Now compare the two scenes. What are the most significant differences in how these performances handle this material? (Note that word “significant.”) Use this comparison to help you sharpen your sense of each scene’s distinctive interpretation of Shakespeare’s script.
4. In a couple of meaty paragraphs, compare and contrast the two scenes. Your goal in these paragraphs is to offer the reader a well-refined, clear analysis of the distinctive way each performance interprets the Shakespeare script. You should have at least one sentence in each paragraph that states the particular interpretation of the scene you’re discussing, and you should include some evidence from each scene (a description of what you see or hear) to support your analysis.
You should send me 3 documents:
- your notes on the Shakespeare script
- your notes on each performance ( totally 4)
- your two paragraphs of comparative analysis

Week 2: Contributing to the Service Culture
After reviewing this week’s readings and lessons content, consider the following ethical dilemma
“Your organization’s return policy stresses that “our goal is your total satisfaction,” yet you have been told by your supervisor that returns cost the organization money and negatively impact her quarterly bonus. For that reason, she has instructed you and other employees that you should find a reason not to accept returns and provide refunds whenever possible (e.g., a package was opened, it has been more than seven days since purchase, a receipt is not provided, or the item is being discontinued and the manufacturer will not take it back). She has even suggested that you lie to a customer or make up an excuse rather than accept a return. Further, she instructed you that all returns and refunds must be approved by her, yet when she is paged over the intercom, she typically does not respond and leaves you and other service employees to face an escalating negative customer situation.”
Answer all four of the questions:
1. How does such a service atmosphere potentially impact customers? Employees?
2. What message does this approach to service say about the organization?
3. What are potential outcomes of such practices by the supervisor?
4. What can you and other employees do to address the situation?
Instructions: Your initial post should be at least 250 words. Please respond to at least 2 other students. Responses should be a minimum of 100 words and include direct questions.
