Provide an analysis of the nonfiction essay “What is Poverty” by Jo Goodwin Parker. This is not a summary; make sure that you offer an interpretation of the essay and that you “read between the lines” in order to address each aspect of analysis:
- Audience
- Purpose
- Content
- Mood
- Style
- Structure
In addition to your main response, you must also post substantive responses to at least two of your classmates’ posts in this thread. Your response should include elements such as follow up questions, further exploration of topics from the initial post, or requests for further clarification or explanation on some points made by the classmates.
After reading this essay, what is your first impression? How did it make you feel? To whom is Parker writing and why? How does her style and structure enhance meaning?
Please be sure to respond substantively to two peers. Your participation is not only a part of your grades, but also a vital part of your learning in this course.
Tips for Creating Substantive Participation
- Explain your response and add examples for support.
- Relate your personal or professional experiences to the topic at hand.
- Ask additional questions of your peers.
- Make connections between various topics we have discussed.
- Add ways you can apply the lessons from the class in your professional and educational life.
Comment 1
In the essay, “What is Poverty?” by Jo Goodwin Parker, the author provides descriptive details about what life is like living in poverty. After reading the first two lines of this essay, I instantly felt sympathetic for her, and as I continued reading and learned about her three children, that sympathy and pity grew even stronger. Throughout the essay, I picked up an overwhelming mood, filled with stress and exhaust as she describes the life she is living with her three kids. Parker shows a very descriptive style in her writing as she uses details such as “smell of urine, sour milk…long-cooked onions,” and “insects in your food, in your nose, in your eyes.” She uses details such as the way she and things around her smell and look in order to draw a picture in our minds and help us visualize everything she is describing. This essay is targeted to the general public, specifically to people who have enough money to live a comfortable life, in order to spread awareness about what it’s like to live in poverty, with barely any money to survive. The main goal of raising awareness is to provide help for those who are so unfortunate to be living in poverty. There are people all around the world, people we see everyday who live a life like she does. With Parker’s goal to spread awareness, we can provide even a little bit of help to those living in such unfortunate conditions.
Comment 2
In the essay “What is Poverty” by Jo Goodwin Parker, the author tries to bring you into the world of poverty with her words in order to ignite an anger within the reader to help fight for change. She paints a very clear picture as to what poverty is like by using extremely descriptive and specific examples of things that play on your senses. “This is a smell of urine, sour milk, and spoiling food…” the specificity of this description of vile smells we all hate, helps create the uncomfortable atmosphere the author is trying to portray. She also mentions the conditions her children have to live with, most likely because people generally are more sympathetic to children. Although the entire living situation for everyone involved is bad, Parker wants the readers to know how much worse it is for her children so they will be more likely to want to help. Parker also mentions the word poverty over and over again throughout the entire essay. This creates a feeling of urgency by having poverty thrown in your face so that it becomes an issue that needs to be addressed at the moment. All of these techniques help her reach the main goal of trying to ignite a passion in the readers so that they will want to help, not just Parker, but the problem of poverty in a greater sense.

Experiment Report Science Assignment Help
I have an experiment which I want a report to be written on. For the last
part of the experiment, there is a plot to be made. I will give you some data
and plot, but you have to change them to avoid plagiarism.
The report should have an intro > method > results > analysis >
conclusion. I have attached a sample report about a different experiment, that
is just to show you how a report should be and should be structured, and how it
should flow. It’s a different thing so there is nothing you can copy from it.
My experiment is “experiment_4___field_plotting_1.pdf”. It has
a complete explanation of the experiment, observations, and a final part to
calculate r1 and r2 and plot so that you can now make a report about the
findings. Here I will just give you a data of a friend, that you will slightly
change to avoid plagiarism, and write your report now.
“Example template” is just a template sample of how to write.. DO
NOT copy any words from the template! its of no use..
“experiment_4___field_plotting_1.pdf” is the explanation of
the experiments + 2 electric fields experiments, those two are same type of
experiment. I will attach sample answers from a friend but for you change and
input your own values, realistic values, so you can just change them logically.
regarding the blackboard picture, this is the picture you will put: 1. is
the picture of the parallel plate capacitor ; 2. is the picture of two parallel
oppositely charged infinitely long wires.
Must write the introduction, method, result analysis, and conclusion result
to make the data into a table and then write the analysis.
In the pdf, there are two experiments that need to write step by step from
intro > method > results > analysis > conclusion. Those are the
experiments you base your discussion on.
in the part of results, you have to attach the blackboard picture and r1r2’s
data and then make it into the table to analyze.
for the r1r2, I don’t have the measurement data, so you can only write
according to the pdf and the picture that I send to make it up.
write it as clear as possible like how template does!
I know the report could be online, Do not copy or plagiarized (will be check
by Turnitin)
Approximately 2000 words of the report

Commodity Paper-02 Writing Assignment Help
Commodification Paper Rubric:
Research and write a short analysis of an important early phase (in most cases, early 20 thcentury or prior) in the commodification and globalization of one commodity(i.e., bananas, cement, chocolate, coffee, sugar, diamonds, palm oil, rubber, tobacco…). Be sure to demonstrate your understanding of our assigned readings from Weeks 2-3(Nature’s Metropolisand The Travels of a T-Shirt) in your analysis. Your paper may cite assigned class readings, or journalistic or other sources, but in addition you must also make meaningful use of at least three academic, non-class sources (peer-reviewed books or journal articles). Your paper must be edited, proofread, double-spaced, 1” margins all around, and font 12-point Times New Roman, 900-1000 words (about 3-4pages; not counting bibliography and illustrations). A detailed rubric is available in attached file.
The purpose of this assignment is to be a short analysis of an important early moment (in most cases, early 20th century or prior) in the global commodification of one commodity. The criteria according to which this assignment will be graded are: how well it describes and analyzes the chosen moment of commodification, how well it integrates the moment into the readings and the larger context of the course, and how well it meets academic writing standards. Commodification is an ongoing process— nothing is ever fully commodified, merely commodified to a greater or lesser extent. In this assignment you will pick a single phase or moment in the commodification of one commodity, and analyze how that change came about. An excellent paper will contextualize this moment of commodification within the broader history of the commodity, but focus its energy on one time and place: what changes occurred, and why is it a particularly important moment? An excellent paper will use the concepts from the readings and class as an integral part of the analysis, employing quotes from the readings (and sources) where appropriate. An excellent paper will be written to academic style: along with good writing, the sources used will be appropriate to the topic, properly cited, and of academic quality. Finally, an excellent paper may use popular sources (newspapers, magazines, online sites, etc.), but it must also make meaningful use of at least 3 scholarly, non-class sources (scholarly = academic = peerreviewed journal articles or books; see below), and it must cite them properly. Note: commodities we have covered in class are not allowed for this assignment (wheat, corn, cotton, etc).

STRATEGIC MARKETING PLAN
INTRODUCTION
This assignment entails development of a comprehensive strategic marketing plan for a new product or service that is ready to “go to market”. A Project Template is provided that allows you to organize your work in increments and see how the sections come together to produce a comprehensive plan.
PRODUCT/SERVICE
This assignment requires application of concepts learned to build a strategic marketing plan for a new product or service that is ready to “go to market”. You will not be allowed to mimic plans or ideas from larger or already “in-place” campaigns. You must develop the business concept in its entirety.
- Describe the new product or service.
- Discuss the qualities that make this product/service new to the marketplace and the rationale for your decision to pursue the concept. Be sure to pick a product or service that is ready to market. If you are developing a new product, assume that the development phase is over and you are ready to launch the product into the marketplace.
OBJECTIVES/MISSION STATEMENT
Create a Mission Statement. State your short-term MARKETING objectives (one year). Assume that the product/service is ready to launch at the beginning of the year (planning and testing have been completed).
- Marketing objectives include goals for sales, profits, market share (as examples)
- Objectives need to be quantifiable. Use the SMART acronym—simple, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-specific—in formulating your objectives. An objective with a 100% goal is not acceptable
TARGET MARKET
Identify your target market. Provide a specific demographic profile and rationale for this decision. Another source that may help you: The US Census Bureau’s American Fact Finder. Consider the size of the market and its purchasing power. Research is required to back-up your selection and to provide statistics to show that it is a viable market.
COMPETITION
Analyze your competition. Who are they? Who are the biggest players? How large is the market? What are the trends/forecasts in the industry? How does your product/service fit in? Business Source Complete in the Library is a good tool for this section; it may be accessed under Find Articles & eBooks.
PRODUCT/SERVICE FEATURES
Provide a brief overview of the product or service.
- State the features of your product/service. Show how it’s innovative and different. It may be unique because of the area in which you plan to market it.
- Discuss legal and ethical implications that could affect the marketing process. This will require research.
CORE STRATEGY
Discuss your Core Strategy and make sure to connect it to your Mission & Objectives. Include a discussion on Product/Service Positioning.
MARKETING MIX: COMMUNICATIONS & PROMOTION
The Marketing Mix is the set of decisions about communications and promotion, price, channels of distribution, and customer relationship management. An integrated marketing communications (IMC) approach delivers a clear and consistent message to your consumers and is connected to your Core Strategy.
- Discuss the aspects of the IMC. (The elements of the communication mix include: advertising, direct marketing, sales promotion, publicity/public relations and personal selling.) Define each and discuss the pros and cons of the individual elements.
- Provide a detailed description of your IMC approach. Explain your rationale for choosing or rejecting the specific elements (include applications to the earlier research section). What changes do you expect to make as the product/service matures?
- Describe the message you wish to communicate based on your core strategy. Explain your rationale for the message. Formulate how you will communicate with your target market? Be specific. How will the internet be used in your IMC approach?
- Select and explain the most suitable method for measuring advertising effectiveness. Your decision must include research to back up the selected method. Be sure to explain why this is the most effective method to measure the effectiveness of your marketing campaign.
MARKETING MIX: PRICE
Discuss what pricing objectives you would consider for your product/service. The Objectives should be based on the various theories presented in marketing literature and take in to account competitor pricing. Including background on value proposition, positioning, and target market is necessary. All of these components provide rationale for the chosen pricing scheme.
MARKETING MIX: CHANNELS OF DISTRIBUTION
Channels of Distribution: Specify the type of distribution channel you will use and include rationale.
MARKETING MIX; CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
Customer Relationship Management -Detail how you will incorporate CRM into your plan. Be sure to include a discussion on the role of technology that will be used to support your CRM.
CONCLUSION
